Frank: With what?

Why is it that I never see any Octavian headcanons? I mean, he was such an underdeveloped character- he wasn’t even given a last name for god’s sake! Why do I never see posts trying to figure out why his name literally means born eighth?” How come we treat his pride and ambition as something that just came out of nowhere? In case you’ve never studied the ROMANS, there was hardly a peaceful day in their history- just a whole load of conquest and war. Why do we give him so much shit for doing what Romans did? I mean, you’ve got to give him credit for managing to get an ENTIRE camp of demigods to rally behind him! That takes a lot of ambition for someone who isn’t even a demigod- he was explicitly stated to be a legacy of Apollo, which means that his blood has been so diluted by mortals through the generations, since he’s only a descendant of Apollo, nobody else, and apparently he comes from a big family that’d been known for GENERATIONS. But people disregard him as a narcissistic jackass, instead of looking into his so severely underdeveloped character. Rick hardly put any thought at all into him, giving us a character with less depth than a sheet of paper, who could’ve been easily elaborated and reasoned within a chapter. Who knows, maybe Gaea was whispering in his ears for years, slowly tearing away at his sanity, which shows in some of his last moments- maniacal laughter and a seemingly nonexistent fear of death? That’s pretty strange, and I don’t get why we haven’t looked into this as a fandom. How did he get his position as Augur? Did he have a natural gift overlooked by Percy and therefore not explained? Because it’s highly unlikely that he could just ask or pay to have a very important position in camp. Maybe he is like Draco Malfoy from Harry Potter- a pressured child since birth, forced to live up to unrealistic expectations? Sorry for the rant, but god, Octavian could’ve been so much more and I really want to know everything about why he did what he did. Or did he just follow the old proverb:
“When in Rome, do as the Romans do”?

Eu leio o livro, começo a gostar, me apaixono, fico viciada, caso com os personagens, depois o livro acaba, e aí eu entro em depressão.

'Live Or Die'
I wrote a song about the characters in the Heroes of Olympus series :) It’s my first song SO PLEASE NO HATE! And I apologise for all the mistakes I made! And I hope you can hear the words OK over the guitar! So yeah, enjoy XD
Lyrics
Son of the sea god, Son of the sky,
Daughter of wisdom, this your time
Daughter of Love, Children of death,
Take your last breath
Son of the flame, and war child,
Is this a war you can win?
Can you defeat the earth?
Will you live or die?
Broken, filled with pain,
You can’t remember what it’s like to laugh again,
Two walked through Tartarus with a smile, because the one you loved was there by your side
Lightening child, forced to your home and an unknown sister behind,
Child of the dove, can you face your fears to save the people you love?
Son of the sea god…
War child, you can turn into anything,
but your power comes with a price,
the fates want your burning life,
Little girl, you come from death’s land,
You face an enemy that you were forced to create
Son of the sea god..
Flame boy, you hide pain behind jokes,
you fix the unfixable, but your heart is broke.
Hades child, stuck in a foreign time,
you lost a sister but another you did find,
you exclude yourself from the world,
because you can’t face who you really are.
Son of the sea god…
-Prophecy of Seven-
Son of the sea god..
