Love Self-Compassion, Love Myself
Coming from a background where score is everything, I used to suffer from perfectionism. However, coming to the U switched me on a growth mindset. Living in a non-native and diverse environment, I know from the very first moment that not everything I do would be perfect, especially using english to communicate with others. That was the moment I started to accept my vulnerabilities. Instead of getting mad at myself for not doing things right, I now would sit down and gently tell myself I’m just not yet there and it’s okay :)

Event 1 Summary
Things that went well:
- Carmel apples were popular. I think food/snack is a good incentive to draw people’s attention:)
- Groups’ representatives were well prepared and came in early, which created a good set-up flow.
Things to improve:
- We don't have an exact number of people who attend our event. Maybe it would good to have a sign-in sheet next time so that we could get some contact information from residents who attend the event as well as a more accurate number of participants.
- The location of the event: maybe have it in the library or the room next to it as that’s more convenient for residents to stop by. Also the noise of people talking and laughing might also attract their attention when they pass by the front desk.
