crying over here cuz i wanna do a poll for a little art thing cuz of doodles and motivation but NO i have four followers i dont think a poll will work that well
darn past uncommon pushing off posting for years (even though he had nothing to post)
the strongest biological material in humans is enamel, which is a milky white (your teeth appear yellow due to whatever it is that's under it, I skipped that part). enamel is harder to break than bone - however bone is able to repair itself, while enamel is not (other than microscopically).
Keratin is a structural protein that helps make up hair, nails, feathers, hooves, claws, skin, scales, etc. it's generally an outer layer (mostly appearing on vertabrae), and for something like a horn, it encases the bone inside.
keratin will wear down easily, but unlike enamel, it does grow back. it's a continuous growth however, so it won't stop like bone would - it has to be maintained, like a bird constantly using its beak to eat.
authors/artists please use these for your clawed creature characters,,, i need to do so much more research so i'll likely ramble more // i do my best to create inhuman designs on a biological basis !! if help is wanted dw I WILL go down a 5 hr rabbit hole and get you the information wanted, as well as six other details that my little critter brain decided to look into as well
not a specific scene, just some vague Helsknight fanart for Redstone and Skulk (reminiscent of Helsknight beating up Evil Sausage…) wanted to do some angle practice :D (I can only draw skinny men, no buff Helsknight YET)
Helsknight also ended up with vaguely plague doctor or dragon head masks as armour pieces… I like the aesthetic :d
'Like a golden collar around his throat, like someone had looped golden thread between his ribs and decided now was the time to pull, like hands on his shoulders made of white fire and sunlight, shoving his head underwater, Tanguish was forced to his knees. He barely caught himself with his hands before his face could hit the floor. He blinked rapidly, his streaming vision bringing tears to his eyes. Boots, leather under iron plate, polished to such a shine they looked like they were made of silver, eclipsed his vision.
“Please,” Tanguish gasped. His bleary, shifting gaze traced the contours of his own iris looking back at him in the polished plate, “Please d… don’t… don’t hurt me.”'
my first successful lineless art! very proud of the fanart for @silverskye13's Redstone and Skulk. got to try out a bunch of new methods and I think I found some I like :D
bonus image of the background cuz im proud of it, and the image with and without words cuz sometimes its better with n sometimes it's better without
