Artfight 2025: Iris Polaris

If I'm being honest, I think we ate with this one. ✨

I had planned from the start to attack my lovely friend Iris (@iris-polaris) on Artfight this year, and I had SO much fun with it! Celestial academia, tarot cards, astrology, stars - all aesthetics that I think go seriously hard, all included in their suggested themes - a match made in heaven! Right away, I had the idea to make a fortune-telling advertisement drawing inspiration from Alphonse Mucha's posters.

Sometimes I feel like a drawing "comes out of you" more than you draw it, like you were made to make it a reality. This process was good for my soul. Thanks for the opportunity to hang out with this RAD Vtuber design!

The girlies!!! An artfight revenge for my friend Cade (Specialneedz on Artfight and Tumblr). These are her DMMD OCs. I've never played the game myself, but I love the aesthetics and character designs - these two included! The tiger keychain was my favourite part of the whole process; I adore it.

This character belongs to Lizzxu on Artfight! I did this attack as revenge for an adorable drawing they did of my character design Matlida (who I ought to draw more often myself!). I gravitated toward Miss Bake right away - her design is so unique, and in the exact cute-creepy sweet spot I adore 😁

Pride Trainers Series #4

One week of house sitting away from my computer, a hand injury, and a sprained neck later, I'm finally back! And with a piece I'm low-key pretty proud of, too. By request from the incomparable Jules Mlodzik (@jules_mlodzik on Instagram, go support their work! DO IT!), here's our pan flag trainer! I just love water types and also drawing water; this one was a real romp. People seem to like this series, so maybe after Artfight I'll do more pride flag trainers! Still welcoming flag requests - or Pokemon type requests for that matter!

Pride Trainers Series 3

By request (WOW, thanks Calder!), here is our Aro flag trainer! I fell in love with this design as soon as I sketched him up and had to give him a big Pokemon team. Espeon has always had my whole heart, so he gets two of them - and shiny, because green!

I think I'll be doing one more pride flag trainer before wrapping up this miniseries - any guesses or requests?

Will I finish this miniseries before the end of the month? Signs point to no, but pride can spill over into July, for me, as a treat. Today, we have lesbian flag trainer! I just loved drawing her poofy hair! And she's a witch, because I do what I want.

Pride Trainers Series #1

If I don't have the energy or time to go to any social events for Pride this month, then by golly, I'll just have to draw some pride flag-themed Pokemon trainers. First up: dragon-type trainer using the trans flag colours! Expect more of these for the rest of the month!

I was really intimidated by his design! What's with those shoulder pads king??? At any rate, I ended up really enjoying this one. The cozy lighting situation contrasted with his bright blue eyes and igniter was really satisfying to work on!
