TASK 4: SCIENCE
The Water and the Earth Guilds decided to get together to do science experiment about water filtration using natural resources.
We took a polluted sample of water and tried to filter it many times to get it cleaner and purer. We used:
⦁ Used Plastic Bottles ⦁ Rocks ⦁ Dirt ⦁ Sand ⦁ Cotton ⦁ Water


First observation (before filtering):
It’s a liquid with a lot of impurities and pieces of solids. It’s brown, dirty and disgusting. We expect it to be clearer and potable after the filtration.

After the first filtration:
The water is now only liquid without solid pieces but it is still dirty. Its color is orange. We think we put the sand in the wrong order and we also didn’t have coal to use. In the second try, we’re putting more layers of materials.

After the second filtration:
The water is clearer and a little lighter, however, it is not clear so we decided to go through a third filtration using thicker layers and not use dirt and use extra cotton. We expect it to come out clearer.


After the third filtration:
The water is still not crystal clear but is definitely clearer than before. We believe that removing the dirt and increasing the cotton helped make it clearer, however, the quantity of water decreased a lot. We decided to do one final filtration using less cotton to use how it would like.

After the fourth and final filtration:
The water is much clearer than it was when we started but it is still not completely clear. There are no more pieces in the water at all and it looks very liquid. The color looks like a light tea. We concluded that we weren’t able to completely purify the water, but we were able to make it cleaner and clearer than it originally was. We believe that if we had coal it would have gotten cleaner.

TASK 3: MATH
For our Math Task we all had to solve riddles and equations to be able to find out a location in our city that was related to our guilds. It was kind of difficult, but when we worked together we were able to solve it.
Math Riddles
First Half 1. The number of players in the field in a soccer match is 2. How many stars are there in the Illuminati constellation? 3. (√¯ 5) + (8/2) + (10x5) + (1/2 x 20) + (14/2) = 4. VCRs were released to the public in which decade? 5. (Number of countries in Latin America) – 31=

If any number is multiplied by me, the answer will always be the number itself! _ 4. Led Zeppelin was formed in 19 5. She escaped from a lab where she went through many experiments and met a group of boys who like to play RPG. She has psychic superpowers and her friends are Mike, Dustin and Lucas.

TASK 2: ARTS
History of the Water Guild:
A long time ago, in a cold and humid place called the Tide Islands located in the Aurora Sea lived large groups of villagers. They were very peaceful people who lived in harmony with the nature around them. The Aurora Sea had many mysterious and wonderful surprises under the water. One of them being the Meraii, a group of magical creatures that looked like mermaids but were more like humans almost. The Meraii and these villages lived together, helping each other to survive and learn. The Meraii would help the villagers with their food and water, while the villagers would help defend the Meraii against the other strange creatures of the sea, like the horrifying purple kraken, Veksai. This interaction of balance continued for ages until one day, where things started to change.
Not far from the Tide Islands lived another society, the Flarok. They were very ambitious people but also very industrial. They believed that the more they produced the more powerful they would be. However all this production started to cause terrible things to the Sea. The glaciers that surrounded the Tide Islands started to melt from all of the heat of the production and the soot and ashes that came from the volcano that the loved so much started to pollute all of the water. At first, the villagers and the Meraii didn’t care much, but as more time passed things only got worse.
So, together they decided to attack the Flarok . Even being such peaceful creatures, they had no choice if they wanted to survive. After a long and terrible war, the Meraii and villagers were victorious, but the war caused even more pollution and destruction. The islands began to sink even more in the sea and pollution started to affect their health.
Luckily, together with some villagers that had come from a far away kingdom they were able to find a way to clean and purify their water and since the pollution had stopped things got better with time. The Meraii used all their magic so that the villagers could now breath underwater and survive with the increased levels of the water. They learned a lot with everything that happened and were able to survive all of the problems by working together.
Some people say that nowadays, they are all just a legend, that they never existed. But we believe. Somewhere in that beautiful, strange sea, live magical, amazing creatures. ~

l Ecological Garden in the backyard that includes a pond that collects rainwater to use in the house l Windows that provide an air current through the entire house so you don’t have to use air conditioning or fans. l Solar Panels located in the back of the house that provides clean energy for the entire place. l Transparent sun windows to take advantage of natural sunlight. l Roof garden used to produce organic, pollutant-free food to eat.

TASK 1: ENGINEERING
Our first task in the Project was about Engineering and we talked about Sustainability and created an Ecological House!
Sustainability for us is:
Sustainability is the idea to produce things thinking about the environment and our future, so that our natural resources will be saved. It creates a connection between these four concepts: ecology, economics, politics and culture. It's important because without our environment and our natural resources we can't produce new things, the world will be unbalanced and in the future, it can generate wars, hunger and chaos.
And we chose to talk about Japan:
Japan has always been an example of technology and large scale production, however always thinking about sustainability. Japan has created different ways to be more eco-friendly. For example: the manufacturing sector started to use thermal power stations and save energy; in the transportation sector, they have been creating hybrids, plug-in hybrids, and electricvehicles (EVs); and developing more energy efficient home appliances that will require less electricity. Some parts of Japan also started to use renewable energy sources, smart grids, and other initiatives to reconstruct the cities affected by the Great East Japan Earthquake in 2011. So since the Olympic city of 2020 will be Tokyo, we decided to talk about it. The majority of the stadiums will be based on ecological and sustainable ideas. They are trying to have the “greenest” Olympics ever, by using visible solar panels, using natural wind currents to avoid air conditioning, and creating a green environment (the parks and decorations) using vegetation and recycled water.
