Nothing like the moonlight of an evening well spent to create some sparks.

Toby invited Belle to help him paint a mural outside his apartment.  She wasn’t exactly as experienced, but Toby was pleasantly surprised with her preciseness.

We had a lot fun at the festival. We talked to the Love Guru, ate delicious ramen and I even partook in the painting activity going on. Toby mentored me the whole time, but it still came out...kinda bad actually. We looked at the painting, me with horror and him with amusement.
“Y’know...”, Toby began to say. “I actually kinda like it. Can I keep it?”
Before leaving the festival, he bought me a snow globe to remember the occasion. We said our goodnights and headed our separate ways. That night I slept of rose petals being thrown in my face.

Toby invited me to a festival that was happening in the city. Little did we know...it happened to be a Romance Festival. It was a little awkward at first when we met up and realized what it was, but we laughed it off and decided to make the most of it. I felt a little...dazed after drinking the sakura tea from the drinking fountain.
“Are you feeling a little funny?”
Toby’s eyes widened and he gasped.
“Do you think they spiked the tea?”

Oh my gosh...it was Yao Chen! The painter I bought the biography on! I had just finished the book and came to love her work. Her paintings were based on romantic situations both happy and tragic. Her work was right down my alley! As class ended, I got the nerve to introduce myself.
“Um, hi Ms.Chen. I’m sorry to bother you. My name is Belle and I just wanted to tell you how much I love your work and that I’m a fan of your paintings. I just finished your biography actually...” I began to fidget and became flustered as I spoke. All of a sudden she broke out in a beautiful smile and my fears were instantly dissipated.
“Well , it’s nice to meet you Belle! You’re not a bother at all. I honestly appreciate your support. You’re a very sweet kid. You a painter yourself Belle?”
“No, actually, I’m a writer. Well I aspire to be...” I was a little embarrassed with my lack of merit.
“Look kid, if you say you’re a writer, you’re a writer! If you’re any good though...well, that’s up in the air.”, Ms. Chen said with a mischievous glint in her eye as she winked at me. We both started laughing.
“I’m just kidding Belle. Something tells me you’re actually pretty good. Keep at it and I know you’ll be proud of your work one day. I was the same way. Took a long time for me to look at my work and not cringe.” We continued to small talk for a bit until I worked up more nerve to ask for a picture. I couldn’t wait to text it to Toby!

I signed up for a weekly yoga class recently. My mind was beginning to clog up and I wasn’t able to really write as well or as much as I wanted to. I thought maybe this class would help me release all my stress and clear my head. My first class began with only a couple more people joining me. The lady next to me looked extremely familiar, but I couldn’t quite place her name. I tried hard not to stare and concentrate on the class, but I couldn’t help myself. On one pose, we were facing each other and I took that chance to look at her more closely....

He chuckled. “Well, that’s alright. So, you like romance novels. Are you a lover of reading or do you like writing as well?” I beamed at him. “I love reading, but ...I do aspire to be a great writer one day. I’m currently working as a freelance writer for articles and that sort of thing, but...I’d love to write a book of my own.” He smiled and put his hand out towards me to shake. “My name is Toby. Nice to meet you.” I shook his hand. “My name is Belle. Nice to meet you too. So...what do you do Toby?” Toby leaned back in his chair as he explained how he was a painter. He was hired frequently to paint murals on the sides of businesses as well as freelance work for homeowners as well. He said he lived in the Arts District of San Myshuno. My eyes widened as I realized he was a bit far from home. Toby must’ve seen my expression and began to explain how he was doing a job on a house not far from the cafe and decided to take a break here before heading home. We continued to talk for a better part of the afternoon about this and that. We got along pretty well despite our meeting being based on misunderstood interests. Unfortunately , it came time for him to leave. We exchanged numbers, agreeing to meet up again someday.
I’m glad I decided to try something different.

Today I decided to spend my afternoon at the cafe I’ve been frequenting, though this time I ‘mixed it up’ from my usual routine . I sat at a different table this time, at the front of the cafe in fact, against all of my loner signals telling me to retreat to my usual table in the back. Also, instead of the usual romance novel that usually accompanied me on my caffeine trips, I brought a biography of a famous painter that I’ve been reading recently. I thought maybe different things would bring on at least a chance of different experiences... I wasn’t wrong.  I had just opened my book to the place where I left off when I heard a deep voice talking towards me. “Yao Chen. She’s one of my favorite painters.” I looked up and saw a man with blue hair and a blue beard. He had a handsome smile fitted on his face as he continued to speak. “ I’m guessing you’re a fan of hers as well?” He casually nodded toward the seat across me, silently asking permission to join me. I nodded shyly back confessing the truth. “To be honest, i’m not. I’ve never heard of her before this book. I picked it up randomly while shopping. It was on the counter near the register...” I was a bit embarrassed as he lifted his brow at me. “The cover is what caught my eye...I...thought it was a romance novel.”

Last night I dreamt I talked to a tree. I watered and stroked it’s trunk as I complimented how beautiful it’s leaves were. As I continued to whisper to the tree, a hole suddenly formed at the base. I knew it wanted to show me something. I entered the void , following a mysterious sound down a stream, through a seemingly pink mist. As the mist began to clear, a miraculous world appeared before me. A hue of pink touched every corner of the scenery. Even the sunlight appeared that way. I was surround by luscious trees and the sounds of a waterfall. I explored the area, taking in all that was around me. It awoke a sense of wonder I hadn’t felt in a long time. Too bad it was only a dream.

I wasn’t so naive to think that love would just fall in my lap. Even in my books, things happened to characters because they were just living life! I used to hole myself up in my home, but ever since my newfound motivation , I’ve gone out so much more! I found myself a writer’s job, went to the library almost every weekend and found myself at the coffee shop down the street more often than not. I went there so much that I even became very good friends with the baristas. Though as time passed by every day as I sat in the same seat, at the same table, the emptiness in the chair across from me became more apparent.  I didn’t let it get to me. I was enjoying life. I was making friends, experiencing the world outside my home and content with my days despite the lack of a love I yearned for. If it’s meant to be, then it’s meant to be.

I’ve always felt so alone. I isolated myself with my expectation of what I wanted reality to be, influenced by the romanticized lifestyle I read about in books, watched on TV, and listened to on the radio. Slowly, but surely, as the harsh realities of the world became known, I slunk away in a comfortable hole, surrounded only by what I wanted to see, by what I wanted to hear. I spent so many years alone. I spent every morning alone. I ate every meal alone. I spent the afternoons alone and every single night, I slept alone. Though I loved my solitude, I was growing sick of it.
As I’ve grown older, I’ve realized I’ll never get what I want if I don’t go out and get it. Just like my books, the path to love isn’t always a clear one, but it’s the trials and tribulations that make the fruit of love that much sweeter...at least that’s what I’ve read. I was ready for the world. Ready to see, hear , and smell it in a way that I’ve never experienced it before. I was ready to Love.

So ends the first generation of this challenge.
The babies have grown! ... into older babies lol.
Mint completed all requirements of the first generation part of this challenge and then some! She honestly is one of my favorite sims now that I’ve played with her for so long. I’ve grown quite attached, so i’ll probably use her to test builds and stuff long after i’m done with this legacy. Goodbye Mint for now :( Going to take a break from this legacy and do the first generation of another one and switch between them every generation as I've stated in a post before.  p.s. does anyone notice you don’t get notifications when someone responds to a comment on your post? it’s strange. i’m tagged and everything, but i don’t get a notification about it. i’m assuming it’s the other way around too which sucks.
