"photograph of a young palestinian girl flying her kite on al-waha beach, gaza, 2011. on this day, 6,200 palestinian children filled the gaza sky with kites, achieving the guinness world record for most kites flown simultaneously. the culture of kite flying amongst gaza youth remains a symbol of resilience, creativity, and joy. over the past 7 weeks, the amount of children killed by the israeli state has nearly surpassed this number, continuing to rise each day. we must continue calling for a permanent ceasefire now. the devastation must end" — via @azeemamag on instagram

My piece of solidarity art for Palestine! Perhaps not the best-looking out there, but at least the message is clear

ABC's of cooking any Sabzi
I’m going to let you in on a secret. Making sabzi is not that hard. And the fundamentals are the same for all of them.
Shall we get started?
Ok, let’s start with the ingredients: Cooking oil (vegetable or olive) Mustard seed Cumin seed Red onion The sabzi you are cooking. (sabzi means vegetable) (We’re doing yellow squash in this one) Salt Tumeric powder (haldi) Garam Masala
Optional: Lemon juice Black pepper
Start by putting in about a teaspoon of olive oil on your pan (preferably non-stick if you have it) Add a pinch of mustard seed Add a pinch of cumin seed Leave it there while you cut up the red onion
Cut up a whole red onion every time (I’m telling you this is a key ingredient to make your sabzi come out delicious).
Don’t just stare at it put it in. (that’s what she said!)
Now cut up your sabzi. (We’re making squash today)
Chop up your sabzi up to thin little half circles or a quarter of a circle. This is because you want them to cook faster. (I don’t have all day!)
Put that in as well. Mix it around a little. Cover it so it cooks faster. NOTE: Do not cover if making bhindi ever. The whole point of bhindi is to get rid of any moisture it has.
Put in about a tesapoon of salt. Mix it around a little. Cover it for a bit. (peep the melanin on that beautiful hand)
Put in a pinch of haldi. Mix it around a little. Cover it for a bit.
Put in a pinch of garam masala. Mix it around a little. Cover it for a bit.
Your sabzi at this point is done! (don’t ask me. Try it yourself.) Turn off the stove. Now we add whatever we feel like adding. I think lemon gives it a great taste. So I add about (you guessed it) a pinch.
I also like to add a little black pepper.
Voila!
These steps work for baigan (eggplant).
Bhindi (my true love)
And gobhi (cauliflowers)
Don’t be afraid to mess up. You may add too much or too little salt or lemon juice. It’s all good. Cooking delicious food is not difficult. Don’t forget to experiment with adding new stuff and having fun!
PS: The roti is the frozen kind from indian store. lol

On the 25th of December, 1927, Dr Ambedkar held a public burning of the Manusmriti.
The Manusmriti lays down the rules for women and the "lower" castes in Hinduism. Read here what it says about women.

You must not only discard the Shastras, you must deny their authority, as did Buddha and Nanak. You must have courage to tell the Hindus that what is wrong with them is their religion — the religion which has produced in them this notion of the sacredness of Caste. Will you show that courage?
Dr BR Ambedkar

Guys, help us find her!
Oh shit, Fremont is close to me…. Spread the word everyone.
boost. This is real.
My Californian followers, GO!
Just looking at missing tag for no reason. This girl was found. Some creepy older dude gave her attention online and she took the train to go see him.
There are a lot of young lonely kids that I see in the news and all they need is attention. Someone to acknowledge them at the very least and listen to them. I remember reading one desi girl taking her life in ny. And all the signs were there. She posted non stop on her socials that no one cares for her, no one would notice if she was gone, has no real friends.
If you can afford to say hello or smile every now and then to someone who clearly needs it. Please do so 🙏🏾
