Staggered through the spectrum I see

Insanity or clarity?

Not so clear as one might believe

Mirror to mirror, where is me?

Took a trip down the rabbit hole to see behind your eyes

What once I thought a beautiful mind

Now tarnished from sinister lies

There was a day I looked at you and thought I was so sure

You’ve said before, you “spotted me so innocent, young and pure”

And then you said you sold my soul and told me you were the cure

NO, I’m not your treasure box, possession, prize or toy

We both were playing that stupid game pretending to be coy

But I know better than to say we’re just a girl and boy

It matters not what I say when it challenges your sound

You always knew I couldn’t swim, it’s no wonder that I drowned

Perched atop some royal throne still waiting on that crown

In the dark I watched you pull the strings 

Over petty, greedy, foolish things

And all I hear are ramblings consumed by a mad king

Chasing down these pipe dreams trying to take and make your own

Cause truthfully you just keep running never willing to look within

In the end I hope you make it out from the labyrinth of your mind

Despite it all, I still hope it is peace that you will find

For everything we’ve been through, my heart must remain kind

But with a stronger defense, never again to walk that line
