A year ago, My evenings 🌌🌅

☕📚 I used to spend my evenings with a book with a cup of coffee or Nescafe, waiting for my beloved husband Hashim to return from work at midnight before my eyes closed.

☕📚 I used to spend my time with translated Arabic and foreign novels and stories, as they are the best companions in these times, with my cup of coffee.

☕📚 In those beautiful days, we used to meet in the morning and in the evening with delicious coffee and talk about our dreams for the future in order to build a new house or start a family and have a child, but now we don't meet on anything because of the displacement and the difficulty of adapting to this life due to the Israeli genocidal war on Gaza.

☕📚 Since the beginning of the war, we have been repeating the same questions every day (when will the war end and we can continue the journey? Where will we go?!?!; will we survive?!...) I have been counting the days day by day to return to my life with my husband, my books, and my home.

☕ There is no security, no hope, no humanity, the war continues, life opportunities are few, and my wish is to return to my evening and coffee.

I notice when fundraisers are close to their goal, donations would trickle in little by little or it would stop completely. Nesma Momen (@nesmamomen) is the perfect example of this. Her fundraiser has been up since March of this year and receives an early verification from Hussein (@/el-shab-hussein), but she is still here, asking for donations.

Nesma deserves better than this. So much better. Especially when she makes the time to come online and provides an update. One day, she tells me that she would wake up to the sound of b*mbs dropping, guns sh*oting, and people running and screaming. Then another day she bakes a jam cake for her younger siblings. Then more b*mbs. More sh*oting. Her cat has snuck out and manages to return to her tent. More b*mbs. More sh*oting.

How much more can Nesma, as well as her family, go through this?
