Now I have to pick up the slack and book my air and insurance and PACK PACK PACK!

This will probably be the last you hear from me for awhile dear friends, as I update at work and tomorrow is my last day! (Which is a really weird feeling as I have been here for almost 8 years!)

I will see how the tumblr app works out but I'm guessing maybe not the greatest as I like long winded text posts haha

I want/need a computer ASAP so I'll let you know!

Stress

Greetings as always to my new and old friends!

It is exactly 20 days before I am to start and I have yet to receive my work visa.

A word to the wise, if you are thinking about applying to the Cultural Representative Program be prepared for a lot of waiting based stress.

Apply - wait to see if you made it to phone interviews

Get phone interview - wait to see if you made it to face to face

Get to face to face - wait to see if you got the job

Get the job - wait and wait and wait if you are on the opportunity list (other people from my face to face are still waiting for a start date)

Get a start date - wait for the visa...

Waiting for the visa has got to be the most stressful waiting I've experienced yet. With the interviews you're anxious to find out if you've made it but you know full well, you may not make it and that's okay(ish).

Waiting for the visa is like seeing how close you are to the finish line and getting a charlie horse. You're so pumped for your start date but the one small slip of paper you need to make your dreams a reality is just out of reach.

The other Canadians in my start date (as well as the Brits) have received theirs, so it's quite hard just sitting around when other people are all set.

Without that visa I'm not going anywhere, well that's not true with out my visa I'm taking the next plane to Vancouver, accepting the promotion I would have been given if I didn't quit and continue down the same path I'm going...

I'll guess we will just have to see what's just around the riverbend...

Disney Princesses as college students

I have a dream and that dream is that Anna from Frozen is chubby.

Seriously - Disney missed a golden opportunity to have a beautiful, zaftig, Scandinavian heroine instead of just another waifish Barbie doll. It fits her character so perfectly! She has a big warm personality, why shouldn’t she be physically big and warm?

By this line of thinking everyone in the kingdom would probably be put off by how skinny Elsa is. Like, “Oh, no wonder she’s so thin, she’s a witch! UNNATURAL.”

28 DAYS LEFT! THAT'S LESS THAN A MONTH FRIENDS!

Hello old friends and welcome new friends!

It's hard to believe its only 28 days! That's enough time for a country to ravaged by a rage virus or Sandra Bullock to sober up!

I was going to post my updated checklist but sad to say nothing really has changed - 

Accept! - obviously done

Pay the fee - CRPs have to pay 100$ to get your room ready and start visa stuff

Get a criminal record check -even though I know I've never been convicted of anything I am ALWAYS nervous there may be something, same thing happens when I go through security (I usually have to do the extra security because I’m so guilty looking haha)

Book a flight - waiting for my discount card to come before I can book but still lots of space at one price so I'm okay there

Get insurance - have to figure this one out still.

Pack - I did get suitcases for Christmas and they are full of all the stuff I'm not currently wearing so this is basically done less my current clothes

SAVE SAVE SAVE - been saving a little and I feel okay with my progress

Get my visa from Disney - Seriously where are you?

I'm not as worried as I was about money and I seem to be okay on suitcase room so I'm feeling pretty positive! and PUMPED! Why aren't I there already? I've been talking to fellow CRPs on my start date and they seem like a great bunch, I just want to meet them already!

Expect more posts once I get my visa and I get more things accomplished!
