I had a plot for why Black Sapphire is in the flower city but I didn't feel like including it, just know Black Sapphire showed up and was planning on finding someplace to live (and also earn an income by reading tea leaves) but Black Sapphire was just assumed to be the new tasseographer Camellia hired. Camellia KNOWS this isn't the tasseographer he hired but Black Sapphire was doing a good job so he just kept Blapphire on staff

They just call Black Sapphire's disguise Tea Reader, nobody refers to them by any possible name/flavor.

Does Camellia feel betrayed upon learning the Tea Reader he was flirting with was an evil radio host? Not really, he figured something was up with them and once again Blapphire is a decent tasseographer so as long as Blapphire wasn't harming anybody Camellia's chill with having an evil shape shifting boyfriend. Unfortunately not everybody's cool with the evil shape shifting boyfriend

I see a lot of people talking about Sugarfly's leg armor stopping her from flying but since I saw them I wondered if that would possibly be burning her if it has iron. Or if the burning only starts when she leaves the garden to dissuade her from leaving

Light of Solidarity

I had so much fun designing everybody.

I was googling different types of salt, and learned there’s a french salt called Fleur de Sel/Flower of Salt, and you KNOW I had to use it.

I also wanted to give Fleur de Sel a friend, and like this is his kid Sea Salt. Both of them are based on old France, Sea Salt being a fisherman (and a sea monster) while Fleur is a knight.

Arcane Lily doesn’t have any specific region I took inspiration from, but I wanted her to look like a vagabond/escaped prisoner and also like a little devilish as a reference to Dark Enchantress. Lily’s motive is destroying the Soul Jams, as she believes the jams are inherently dangerous or evil. Do the other Vices know? Yes! None of them care either

also i call my beast-ancients the Vices as the original forms of the Beasts were called Virtues

Rq, Arcane Lily was the first to fall, and Wilted Orchid fell after. With the fall of these two, the others realized they would NOT stick to their morals, because what do you mean the other two fell—

Confession I hate Blackbell with a burning passion, which sucks because I love Black Sapphire and I can't escape fanart of him with Silverbell

Then Sugarfly came out and BlackSugar started becoming a ship and I was like ykw hell yeah :).

But; Black Sapphire/Sweet Sapphire!

I know typically people just straight up swap the positions but like I love writing lore so LORE!

Sapphire has no memories of his life until he was about late teens and he woke up alone in a library. He cannot leave it (at least he can’t be over about 30 feet without being in agony and then he can’t be farther than 100 feet or else he’ll just teleport right back to the library).

He currently thinks maybe if he’s able to reorganize the library he’ll finally be able to leave. He is currently on the 4th attempt of this theory

Why is he actually bound to the library? For reasons tied to his backstory!

Bright Cream finds out Sapphire's origin pretty fast, but he decides to not tell Sapphire what he knows. This action WILL HAUNT HIM come Wilted Orchid

It was lonely for Sapphire living in an abandoned Library for years, and all he had for company were his sapphire bats.

Sapphire also can shape shift and would do so to try to make himself feel less lonely until Bright Cream/Wanderer appeared one day outside of the library

I also subscribe to the theory that beasts skin/dough colors aren’t the natural/typical colors because of their corruptions, so hehe sickly yellow vanilla cookie >:)
