Dune Prompts // ACCEPTING ↳ @foxhelm said: "any man who retreats into a cave which has only one opening deserves to die."
"IS THAT HOW YOU JUSTIFY IT...?" Fear could make even the wisest man stumble. Make no mistake, it was fear, desperation, that drove her quarry to flee until the walls closed around them. Trapped animals, ripe for slaughter. Shaak Ti pursed her lips.
"There is no better time to offer another exit," she said. Bereft of options, lost in darkness, the Jedi would always provide a choice to return to the light. But she supposed such was not the way of bounty hunters.
" — If you were looking to resolve the conflict, that is."

Dune Prompts // ACCEPTING ↳ @commandsir said: "you fight when the necessity arises—no matter the mood!"
EVER EAGER, SKYWALKER'S YOUNG PADAWAN. Much like him in that regard. As always, when the prospect of battle loomed, her lightsaber hung that much heavier from her hip; it was that weight that left Shaak Ti ever more mindful of their duty.
"We do not not run from adversity," she agreed, with a light dip of her head. " — But nor should we seek it out."
"Let us hope that more cool heads prevail, Commander Tano."

Hot Take:
There is no One True Jedi. Jedi is a way of life, being a Jedi is not static status, it’s about self-improvement and become a better self. Everyone make mistakes but it’s also about them acknowledging it and be better.

“ 𝐉𝐄𝐃𝐈 𝐓𝐌𝐏𝐋𝐄, 𝐂𝐎𝐑𝐔𝐒𝐂𝐀𝐍𝐓 — Recognizing “the selfless valor in the protection of the Republic and her worlds,” Supreme Chancellor Palpatine recognized the honorable deeds of Jedi Knight Avan Post and Master Shaak Ti today with a gift of a grove of ch’hala trees in a ceremony held at the Jedi Temple.
Avan Post of Chrandrila was recognized posthumously; he perished last month in a skirmish over Ando, during which he destroyed seven Techno Union Hardcell-class vessels. Post had served in many battlefronts early in the conflict. Asran Headows, Master Curator of the Galactic Museum on Coruscant announced the creation of a special exhibit honoring the fallen Jedi by year’s end.
“Ch’hala trees are among my favorite specimens of the Republic’s gardens. They are rigidly implacable yet sensitive to even the slightest disturbance, much like our revered friends at the Jedi Temple. I humbly ask that you accept these tokens of appreciation,” said Palpatine.
“I am honored to receive this distinction in service to the Republic. Nevertheless, Jedi eschew possessions, and therefore I donate this gift to the Jedi Temple,” said Ti. Her actions on Geonosis, Centares, and Dagu were cited by Palpatine in a list of notable accomplishments by the Togruta Jedi Master.
Ti donated the grove of four dozen infant purple-green trees to the Jedi Council. The spectacular ch’hala trees have pressure-sensitive pigmentation in their bark that allowed them to change hue and pattern when exposed to sound.
“We accept this recognition with gratitude thought it is our duty to protect the Republic,” said Jedi Master Mace Windu. The Jedi Master then promised the infant grove would find prominent placement within the Jedi Temple. ”

rbeljedi:
His mother’s strength. That Luke could agree with wholeheartedly – though he had to hope Ben ended up with a better sense of humor than his father (though the thought did bring a smile to his face.)
“Yes, of course.” He said, carefully transferring the infant to the Jedi Master’s arms. “Mara’s still recovering, but she let me steal him for a few minutes to make some important introductions… “
𝐇𝐎𝐖 𝐋𝐎𝐍𝐆 𝐇𝐀𝐃 𝐈𝐓 𝐁𝐄𝐄𝐍 𝐒𝐈𝐍𝐂𝐄 𝐒𝐇𝐄 𝐇𝐄𝐋𝐃 𝐎𝐍𝐄 𝐒𝐎 𝐘𝐎𝐔𝐍𝐆? Shaak Ti could scarcely recall. As long as she last visited the Temple's creche, at least; as long as she last saw the birth of a clone ( thought the Kaminoans never referred to it as such ), their eyes opening for the first time, bright and curious and full of their own unique life. No matter how much time passed, her arms still remembered how to hold the most fragile parts of them, and she cradled Ben close to her chest.
"I'm glad I made the list," she said, smile reserved for the bundle in her arms, and he alone. "Younglings are a unique sort of joy." Yet for all they considered their young family, it was rarely by blood. Glancing back to Luke, she spoke gently, a curious tilt to her head, "And how are you feeling...?"

𝐒𝐇𝐀𝐀𝐊 𝐓𝐈 𝐀𝐋𝐖𝐀𝐘𝐒 𝐏𝐑𝐄𝐅𝐄𝐑𝐑𝐄𝐃 𝐓𝐎 𝐇𝐀𝐕𝐄 𝐒𝐎𝐋𝐈𝐃 𝐄𝐀𝐑𝐓𝐇 beneath her feet, a teaching from her people she never could shake. With each step she could feel the ebb and flow of energy beneath her, the very force pulsing through the planet's core. But the domed cities of Tipoca denied her such luxuries. Outside the ocean raged, seeking to reclaim these artificial sanctuaries in the name of the sea. Nights like these had become the norm, torrential downpour fading into a distant hum beyond the durasteel walls. Still, a part of her wondered if nature rebelled against this world's inhabitants, the way they meddled in the natural order of things. Though she could not deny it worked to their advantage this evening.
The pale lavender of her gaze studied the holomap intently. At the heart of it lay Kamino, in all its stormy glory; then, like a sprinkling of stars, pricks of blue light that represented the Republic's blockade. Everything from the mighty cruisers to the smaller fighters patrolling their skies drifted along the display — and, somewhere among them, her visitor.
Footsteps sounded in the hallway, falling in perfect synchronization. Shaak Ti sensed them enter and salute behind her. "Anything to report?" she said, turning to regard the pair as they stood at attention. The leftmost ( called Hood by his brothers, if she wasn't mistaken ) answered, "Negative, General. Nothing out of the ordinary." Nodding, she dismissed the two of them, staring at the map once again as they continued their patrol.
How long she might have stood there, waiting for some blip, some sign of her contact, she couldn't say, yet it wasn't the holo that alerted her to the Separatist's arrival. Rather, a shift in the air, so subtle any other being may not have noticed. But that sixth sense inherent to all Togruta allowed her to feel the room as clearly as she could see it, and without a backwards glance Shaak Ti knew at last she was no longer alone.
"It is as good as any," she replied, clasping her hands across her midriff. Then, and only then, did she turn. Little to see, between the helmet and dark uniform, but the way they stand betrays a certain confidence. "We have little under an hour before the next patrol reports. Can you make your report in that time...?"
@uniforced
The powerful storms are the perfect cover for her descent into Kamino, heavy rains obscuring vision while dark clouds and nighttime skies shadow the world around them. Acxa is an adept pilot and weaves her way through the storm with exquisite expertise, landing hidden on a lower level beneath the structures of the facility her newest Jedi contact was located within. Sliding her helmet on to maintain some semblance of anonymity, she glances up at the main level with a tight press of her lips. It won’t be easy to get inside, but there’s NOTHING EASY about the work she’s been doing as of late. As it stands, her HUD display maps out the best way up and so she pushes herself into motion.
Slipping inside the main building, she takes a small amount of pleasure in the way she sneaks through darkened corridors and past soldiers who remain blissfully unaware of her presence. These are the men she will likely one day meet on the battlefield, and it is AMUSING to think that they will never know about her having been to their home planet under their very noses. If it weren’t necessary to maintain a certain decorum of stealth and secrecy, Acxa might feel tempted to BRAG about such a feat in the future.
Once her contact has been sighted, Acxa carefully waits until she is ALONE before stepping out of the shadows. Shaak Ti likely is expecting her arrival, but Acxa always likes to test the reactions of the Jedi she interacts with – how well they take to being SNUCK UP ON can say a lot about that person, she finds.
“ I have more news to report on the strategies and plans of your enemies. ” she speaks candidly, helmed head tilting slightly in question. The sound of nearby troopers making their rounds through the corridors catches her attention, body tensing minutely with ANXIETY as she shifts ever so slightly back into the cover of darkness. “ I hope now is a good time, ”

𝐁𝐄𝐍. 𝐎𝐅 𝐂𝐎𝐔𝐑𝐒𝐄. Shaak Ti smiled, hearing his name, and as she moved closer saw that he was no less full of light than his namesake. Like a tiny flame in the force — still young, still fragile — but already radiating warmth. "He has his mother's strength," she noted, feeling his fingers wrap around one of her own, squeezing tight. "And your humor," she added, when his lips pulled into a gurgling smile.
"May I hold him...?"

𝚆𝙷𝙰𝚃 𝙺𝙸𝙽𝙳 𝙾𝙵 𝙷𝙴𝚁𝙱 𝙰𝚁𝙴 𝚈𝙾𝚄?
𝐆𝐀𝐑𝐋𝐈𝐂. You leave an impression wherever you go. Your heart is so strong, so determined, so willing to go after whatever hole you see in the world, whatever wound you need to fix next. You're there. You're justice, hot red and pure gold, fairness incarnate, a paladin in shining armor come to protect and cleanse and heal and yet sometimes you wonder if you're the most corrupt, dirty being in the world, a fraud, a monster in hero's clothing.
The world is so intense and you are so small, so fragile, and no matter how hard you try you're never good enough. You want to be good. You want to be good enough. You try so hard and yet the world is so dark and angry and cruel. Perfection is always just out of reach and you want things to be okay so bad you bleed with it. You just want things to be right, to be good, to be fair, but you don't know if they ever can be. If you can ever be.
