can an email and a power strip find love? yes. i have a lot of thoughts on these two interacting

so my theory for these two is that both of them have come in contact with DEVICE_FRIEND. they both were exposed to forbidden information through FRIEND, and although it affected them to different degrees, they both kinda.. lost it. obviously it's much worse for spamton, but it's still the case for ramb as well. he just tends to hide his issues.

the horror of the information they possess is something that they bond over, and something they feel like only the two of them could understand (maybe jevil can but spamton doesn't get along with him ;;). they also see themselves in each other, having been outcasted by their fellow darkners and kept in solitude. maybe together they could be less lonely?

they also think lowly of tenna, having to deal with the side of him that's not great. when they first met again, spamton got extremely angry when he was brought up, which startled ramb, but he broke down sobbing soon after the anger (which is the context for the first drawing).

that moment was when ramb fully understood that this mailman that tenna's always complaining about had more going on than just a big ego. of course he already figured, but yknow it's different seeing the guy show symptoms right in front of you

it's also just nice to spend time with another guy from the same dark world too. ramb doesn't have to feel like a fish out of water anymore, and even though spamton is scary, he's fun, he cares about him, and he doesn't judge. they kept spending time with each other and began to catch romantic feelings.. and that's how they became a couple

though i haven't figured out in what context they met again. something something the knight really did take ramb after kris gets the shadow mantle and they chuck him into castle town for some reason (maybe so he can do that "work to do" he was talking about after the shadow mantle fight)

i kinda can't get over the fact that spamton split on tenna onscreen. he had zero nice things to say about this man up until that cutscene and then when he perceived an ounce of affection from tenna he immediately was touched as if any of the previous feelings he had about him didn't exist

i'm just saying that tobert is doing a great job of writing spamton as having BPD without even doing it on purpose

I like to imagine Ramb was around during the 'big-shot era'— like he was just some guy who was traveling around w/ Spamton & when Tenna & him teamed up, Ramb just went w/ him.

I KNOW THAT RAMB'S WHOLE DEAL WAS THAT KRIS TOOK HIM FROM THE LIBRARY AND STUFF.. but I also like to imagine that the Dreemurs originally were the ones to own him & they donated him at some point to the library (then ironically Kris just took him back anyways). This could be why Ramb doesn't look as much like the other plugboys in the library.. it's because he's a different brand of power strip than they are since the Dreemurs don't use the same brand as the library...?

also I feel like Tenna and Ramb used to be closer pre-divorce stuff, but they started dispising eachother as they both fell deeper into their own personal hells.. yadda yadda their hatred towards eachother is a reflection of their self-hatred yadda yadda.

for those who are curious about their canon relations! things to note:

- ramb is in charge of watching toriel to make sure she's still asleep. he's one of the people who tenna's talking to through his antennas during the chapter (you'll see the scene that reveals this in this post)

- ramb's light world form is a power strip and tenna's is of course the TV in the living room. it's possible that the TV is connected to said power strip since there was flavor text saying that the TV's plugged back in in chapter 2, when it wasn't in chapter 1. yes i have also been wondering what the implications of this are

- tenna didn't know what to assign ramb to do at first and he says something that backs up that it was for negative reasons

the shit talking pippins might seem unreliable for info but remember: from a writing standpoint, there's a reason he's there and it's to tell you more about him

this is when tenna is seen speaking to ramb for the first time after round 1. toriel was located and he's reminding him of some plan they've already arranged.

▲ tenna getting mad at ramb about toriel after round 2. ...not sure what the implications of him paying ramb's electricity bill is, or if this is one of those things where he's just saying whatever. also, "they" seems to be the knight, as tenna says he was instructed by them to keep the fun gang busy. guess they both know about the knight

made a gif of the end of the scene cause i think his animations are important. the "!" bubble seems to imply that ramb said something that pissed him off or he hung up on him

parallels and dichotomies

- both tenna and ramb miss spending time with kris and want to appeal to them to see them have fun again

- they've both held onto the past very tightly, with both of them reminiscing about kris, asriel, and the holiday kids visiting. with tenna, he primarily remembers the family watching TV together, and ramb remembers kris and friends playing games together.

- tenna is afraid of/nervous around kris and is insecure about whether or not he's doing a good job entertaining them with his games and challenges. on the other hand, ramb rarely shys away from being upfront with them and is very sure that his own games will be enjoyed by kris

- at the end of the chapter, they both meet an unfortunate fate. tenna gets dismembered, and ramb turns to stone (...?). however, tenna can have a happy ending if you fix him and give him to mettaton/hapstablook, while ramb's post-chapter fate is left vague and concerning to make me and m-chromatic insane specifically (TOBY PUT THE POWER STRIP ON THE PHONE

it makes me insane that i can't find the in-game source of these lines, i just know they're from a different pippins than the one that shit talks ramb

Any thoughts on ch 4 final boss/shadow Crystal holder? (Not spoiling just in case)

oh my jaw was fucking dropping when the titan got summoned lemme tell you

i always thought titans were gonna show up at like the 6th or 7th chapter and so it shocked me to see it on chapter 4 MORE than it shocked me to see the knight themselves as early as chapter 3.

INCREDIBLE design. incredible music. the fucken.. fetus/memoryhead looking things it spawns. my theory is that those things "hatch" from petrified darkners the same way the titan emerged from the fountain. if that's so, that's diabolical of tobert (but like in a cool way). such an epic end to the battle too.

also was very happy that gerson showed up to the fight, i fucking LOVE gerson!! he's an awesome character. i love his enthusiasm and whimsy. a lot of his wisdom means a lot to me too. being able to fight him is awesome, and i like that he highlighted the theme of deltarune regarding making your own story and that going by what's expected doesn't have to be your only option. plus him talking about lord of the hammer was super interesting. thinking a lot about chapter 5 being the field of rose and gold (pink and yellow). also he soft confirmed something in my ramb theory, that's pretty epic

even though i knew who gerson was the moment he appeared, i was still intrigued by how it happened. finding out that it's considered taboo in the deltarune universe to keep an urn of a passed loved one was interesting; i wonder what other real life customs are different in that world. and the letter he left to alvin was really sweet. it all makes me tear up haha

What's your favorite thing to do with your Tubular world?

well to be honest, i love daydreaming about it! there's a lot of characters, a lot of relationships between said characters, story lines, arcs, alll that good stuff, and yknow it's hard to put all of that down in art or writing (especially when i'm obsessed with other characters)

in true OC haver fashion though, my absolute favorite thing to do is imagine animations based around my OCs and their stories. i have a lot and i remember pretty much all of them, but as you know putting that into an actual animation is Significantly easier said than done

there's a recent idea that i've been thinking about a lot and it's a fight scene between dandera and nyaya to a section of this track (volume warning btw). idk i think i'd be cool to see them fight.. nyaya having illusory abilities can really throw people off even if they're skilled at fighting like dandera

hard question ...

i'm torn between the smell of cooked meat (could be chicken, beef, or pork) and any sugar-y kind of smell. though if i had to pick something that i could choose to smell like, i'd go with a sugar-y one
