Portal Ford Project Update

So this project has reached a screeching halt. Not because I don’t like it, but just because I’ve bitten more than I can chew. It’s a lot. I’m not saying I’ll never finish this, but just in case I do abandon this baby, ya’ll should at least see what it looked like. These are some great images and I feel like I’d be doing ya’ll a disservice keeping them on my hard drive collecting dust.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO THE STAN TWINS!! I literally don’t have anything grand prepared like I did for Mabel and Dipper’s birthday RIP but here you can have this panel from a comic last year I never finished :’)

Ford might have gotten too enthusiastic with his hug and Stan could not support his weight so they fell over like the morons they are

This idea just hit me and I have to write it. The scenario involves when the boys are in their "no talking" phase before the events of weirdmaggedon. Mabel wants to come up with a plan to get Stan and Ford to get along and just talk it out. Thing is... she doesn't know how without the boys turning the other way when they spot each other. So while she's trying to come up with something while taking a stroll in the woods, some merchant, either a gnome or some other creature, spots Mabel and offers some help. What he has is a pair of handcuffs but these aren't any normal handcuffs either! These handcuffs happen to be enchanted and there is no means possible to break them and there is no key either. The only way for the handcuffs to open is to have the wearers see eye-to-eye with each other and kind of team up. So Mabel takes them instantly, feeling pretty confident that this will be the starting solution to the boys' problem.

By some miracle she ends up getting the two in the same room by saying she has a gift for both of them. Stan questions why Ford and him have to be in the same room. Mabel kinda dismisses it and asks both of them to hold out their arm as she says she has friendship bracelets for them. They do and that's when the handcuffs clamp to both their wrists.

"Now you both have no choice but to get along!"

Of course both Stan and Ford are freaking out about this and trying to break free. Ford saying he has some special tool to get them loose but that's when Mabel reveals that the handcuffs are enchanted and there's no way to open them unless the boys both get along and work together. Both boys are basically stunned and and really freaking out, more so Stan. Of course, Ford knows about these.

"Enchanted handcuffs.... Thought I wouldn't have to deal with these again."

"What do you mean again?" Stan is beyond confused.

Ford ignores and dismisses Stan and both are pretty upset at Mabel. Mabel says she only wanted them to get along and talk and this felt like a good start to them finally talking it out. The boys feel a bit guilty and tell Mabel they know she tried to help but sometimes... things don't always work out. Or do they?

Being stubborn as they are, the boys don't make an effort to get out of the cuffs and Ford tries to come up with alternatives to getting them out. A lot of bitterness ensues and some angst as well because come on, there HAS to be angst.

They do end up working together and getting along at one point by some stressful, extreme situation and have a little heart-to-heart before being uncuffed. I haven't made a concrete idea on what happens but they end up okay.
