Slowly chipping away at the summer bonding pics so here’s previews of the ones done so far :’D

Stanford has a lot of catching up to do about the last 30 years, so obviously he starts by the most important scientific discoveries of his home dimension.

He's absentmindedly reading a book on astrophysics when he comes across a theory he had never seen before:

The semi-perpetual mirror motion theory

The wording catches his eye. Apparently no one has figured out how to create perpetual motion in his home dimension yet. However, this new theory has nothing to envy; in short, it is a principle that allows energy to multiply itself in a contained and controlled way, and to cut its power without trouble, even if the energy surpasses that of nuclear fission.

It is incredibly clever, Stanford thinks. Truly a wonder of modern physics. He scoffs, thinking how much easier it would've been to keep the portal running smoothly if only that theory had existed in the early 80s. Maybe he should contact the author, they could surely have an interesting chat over some coffee—

Ford stops. He blinks a few times, incredulous. The text on the page doesn't change.

(Or: Ford finds out that Stan didn't just follow the journal's instructions, but that he actually learned physics to such a degree that he formulated a theory that is now widely used)

what if stanley's memories didnt just get erased.. what if the gun made him de-age to 8 years old... ouhhgg babyy

stanley living at the shack while they all try to figure out a way to return him back to his original age, which they learn might be impossible..

so ford ends up adopting lil stanley!! its awkward as hell but ford's just glad he has his brother back, so now his mission is give stanley the best childhood he can, to make up for all his past mistakes.

also, lil stanley is convinced that he's just time traveled, which ford goes along with, bc he couldnt handle having to break it to stan about him never being able to see his parents, or lil ford..

love ur au. just thinking about Watchdog getting so worn out / overstimulated on a mission that Lee comes to get him.

thinking about Lee getting between him and another, more agitated Ford, Lee's eyes narrowed but grin easy, every inch of his body language lying that he's relaxed when he isn't,

casually plastered so defensively in front of Watchdog that the other Ford has to come to a halt, that it gives his silver tongue room to diffuse the situation or even resolve it

++ Watchdog slowly realizing he forgot how it felt to be protected in turn but it's still so good.

sorry i'm thinking about lee giving back some of the love he's received!! anddd i think just watching his displays of loyalty would halt many a ford in their tracks too tbh

Omg you are so right for this.

Watchdog does have sensory issues that can temporarily put him out of commission until he regeneration kicks in or he adjusts to the sheer amount of sensory input he's getting. He either uses his prescience too much and ends up with a killer migraine, or he wears his helmet for too long and his senses are assaulted without the barrier it provides once he finally takes it off.

Sometimes both can happen at once and he's miserable until his body regulates itself.

That's where Lee usually comes in. Lee is a caretaker at heart, so he looks at someone as broken as Watchdog and cracks his knuckles before getting to work building Watchdog back up into something that resembles functional. If Watchdog can't (or won't) care about himself, Lee is more than willing to care for him.

This sentiment, of course, extends to protection. Lee won't hesitate to put himself between Watchdog and a threat. Now, I don't talk about Lee's battle prowess a lot, but he does have an affinity for magic just like his og brother. The magic in dimension 77/H is more about intent than fancy spells, which is why Lee never really needed any training because he uses magic like breathing.

It's instinctive.

Granted, Lee mostly uses it for mundane stuff. Say he cooks a meal that he infused with the intent that it will revitalize his loved ones. Then that's exactly what it does. Everyone is bursting with energy/motivation after they're done eating. He makes the bed that he and Watchdog share with the intent that Watchdog will have a restful sleep? Watchdog is waking up actually feeling rested despite any nightmares he might've had.

Stuff like that.

On the other hand, Stanford had to be trained/taught how to utilize his magic. This means that, due to Lee's willpower, he is inherently stronger than Stanford and would absolutely wipe the floor with him if they ever went toe to toe in a fight. Unfortunately, Lee's submissive nature pre-Watchdog meant that he never used his magic to push back or stand up for himself. It's like the elephant and the rope.

I remember seeing this idea somewhere that using the memory gun on someone leaves a scar on them, so I imagined Stanley having a big one on his face from his sacrifice

Does it make sense? Probably not but idc I just think it looks cool, although it would probably make it kinda hard for Ford to look at him sometimes
