POSTCARDS

These are the 6 postcards i made to back up my final garment and pieces, I did a title, final garment and photoshoot, my 6 final designs with the title of my collection, sweet wrappers, development and textiles. I found my postcards really fun to do because i could get quite creative, i used brusho, puff binding and lots of different pages from my sketchbook to make up my postcards and i love how they’ve turned out.

DESIGN BOARDS

These are my final design boards for this unit, i painted the background as pink, orange, purple and green and i also used bubble wrap and painted on it with that to kind of create a sweet looking effect, after i put my final designs on i added some thread to make my boards stick out more. Although i really like my boards i do think they’re too much but in reality they relate well to my project, im just not used to doing something so bold.

SCREEN PRINTING

To develop my prints i did some screen printing with two of my prints. i used a plain fabric and a grey fabric with a print, Just to experiment. It came up really well on the plain fabric but not as good on the grey fabric.

I also did some moodboards of sweet wrappers to use up the empty space and add something to my page, i like how it turned out in the end.

MY MINI PHOTOSHOOT

This is the mini photoshoot i did to show my garment, i found this photoshoot was quite hard to do because i didnt have a lot of time to do it and not a lot of space. But other then that i think it turned out to be okay. i used candy bracelets and watches and i also made bracelets of the fruit salads and black jacks mixed together. I used real fruit salads and black jacks too to promote my garment.

My lip combo is a red lipstick with a glittery gloss on top, i think it goes well with my garment.

For my make up i just did my regular routine: brushed through my brows, contour, blush, powder, highlighter and my lips. i also used blue and pink eyeshadow to represent the barratt brand.

FINAL GARMENT

I’m happy to have finally finished my final garment, the dress part i like but the squares have been such a pain to deal with, they were easy to make when the machine behaved but when it came to sewing them onto my garment, first they were too loose, then my teacher re attached them then they all fell off again then my boyfriends mum helped to sew them back on then they fell off again so i sewed them back on to ensure they never fall off again but im really stressed they will. i had to do like 5/6 loops on each corner of the squares.

This is the first time i sewed my squares onto my garment, i think it went well the first time but i was also really stressed while doing it so that didn’t help me.

This was the most recent time i sewed my squares onto my garment, i made sure to really sew them on there to make sure they don’t come off again.

FRUIT SALAD AND BLACK JACK MIXED

To help visualise my dress better i thought i would mix a fruit salad and a black jack to show kind of what it looks like and how that applies to my garment.

BRUSHO

To update my machine embroidery, i added brusho to give the effect of an actual sweet wrapper in a way, i used blue and pink because that’s the colours of the barratt logo ( but lighter).

PREP FOR SCREEN PRINTING

to make it easier for my prints to show up on the screen, i made the lines bigger. once my screens were ready i put them in that big box machine and then washed them down.

FINAL GARMENT- EMBROIDERY PREP

This video is me cutting out onto the embroidery hoops ready to embroider onto the fabrics. I enjoyed doing this because it made me feel more organised.
