Unitary Age: Visiting Tourists
2110
The cherry blossoms are already in their late blooms, yet the mid-May breeze is still pleasantly warm, without any trace of the upcoming rainy days. The Golden Week just passed, people are still with high spirits, especially tourists.
Especially tourists.
"Which one? Which one?" A guy with ivory hair excitedly squealed in Japanese, leaning closer to the small girl beside him.
The smell of tea leaves are prominent in the living room of a rather traditional Japanese house, the three occupants of the room are comfortably seated on the Horigotatsu, at least the two of them, since the one across them seems to not be having the best time of their life.
"Wisteria viewing? Yeah, it's good and all but aside from taking pictures and aesthetic purposes, it's boring. Beside, have you seen the entrance fees to those gardens? Just to see flowers? It's that high? That's ridiculous, definitely not something worth my money." The tiny girl with soft daffodil hair tied into double buns, hastily spoke, her Japanese less fluent than the former guy. Her gold eyes focused solely on her smartphone, as she continuously scrolls through countless article of 'Japan Travel Guide in May' articles.
They are surrounded by a serene scenery, with the antiquity of the traditional house and the open engawa veranda, giving them full view of the charming garden outside. It contrasts so much with the current atmosphere of the group, which is a mixture of heavy silence and constant tapping.
"Oh, what a waste though." The man with ivory hair sighed, before fixing his round-rimmed glasses, shielding most of the natural light in his mauve eyes. "Well, if Xianggang doesn't want to, that's fine. But! We still have to find a place with high aesthetic value, alright? I need more content for my next zine!"
"Yes, yes. Low cost, high aesthetic value, searching." The girl nodded, unbothered by the sudden mixture of a mandarin word in a Japanese sentence, the man across her seems to have different reaction though.
"Honkon-chan, Kameido Tenjin is—"
"—I didn't ask for your opinion." It's the first time the man with messy pitch black hair spoke for the long duration of their meeting, yet he was instantly shut down the moment he opened his mouth. Hong Kong shrugged, when the man beside her frowned directly at her.
Noticing the black haired man's sudden change in expression—he's trembling, is he gripping his Katana now? Oh god, oh no—Hong Kong coughed, as entertaining it is, she'd rather not deal with something like this now.
"Okay, alright, speak."
The black headed man cleared his throat, releasing his hold on the katana beside him. "Kameido Tenjin is actually free, no fees or anything, just a free visit."
The shock—and absolute ecstasy—on Hong Kong's face was... shocking for the man himself. Who gets off with just the idea of something free!?
"Holy shit." Hong Kong broke in English, completely abandoning the Japanese language. "Are you kidding me? I thought it was a scam??? Taiwan, are you hearing this?! That's like really, really free?? As in, no additional fees or whatever, even bathroom fees??? Oh my goodness, I can't believe this, is this really the Japan I know and hate?"
Taiwan, the man with glasses, let out a small laugh. Unlike his companion, he proceeds to use the Japanese language, with due respect to the host nation before him. "I mean that's amazing and all, but I thought that place was... umm...removed? Was it reconstructed?"
_"Removed?! Reconstructed?! Destroyed?!" _The tiny Chinese girl screeched, abruptly switching language to Cantonese, "it's a scam after all, you bastard!!!"
Japan winced, holding his hands up in defense. "N-no, Honkon-chan! It was reconstructed by Kaeru-san! It's definitely not a scam, please believe in me!"
That only made Hong Kong redder in anger, "Haaaah?!!!!"
Japan and Taiwan collectively flinched.
_"Reconstructed. By. Cae?!" _Hong Kong screeched, syllable by syllable. "Are you kidding me? When did you have that privilege?! You asshole!!"
Taiwan have to step in, just to control the girl's rage. "Calm down, Xianggang! Almost all of your landmarks have been reconstructed too right? There's no need to get bothered over this... Don't kill us, okay? Well, you won't kill me, but Nihon, let's not hurt him, please?"
_"But!" _Hong Kong barked. "Ughh, fine whatever! I guess I can just do something about this on another time... economic downfall.. Heh."
The last part of Hong Kong's statement was whispered, and Japan felt something sinister about it. "D-did you say something, Honkon-chan?"
Taiwan trying to pretend that he didn't hear anything, obviously averted his gaze away from Japan.
"Nope, nothing at all, Yahtbun-gege." The girl nonchalantly switched back to Japanese, although that's not what shocked Japan to his core.
_"Yahtbun-gege...?" _Japan is flushed, all the way to his ears down to his neck. Processing the molten bite in Hong Kong's voice when she addressed him seems to be an impossible job for his melted brain.
Hong Kong quickly gulped down the forgotten cold tea before standing up. "Let's go, Taiwann_n_..."
That seemed to wake up Japan from his trance state. "Eh? Where are you heading to?"
Hong Kong gave Taiwan a look, and the man chuckled nervously. "Uhh... Heading back to our hotel?"
"What?!" Japan spluttered, completely breaking composure. "What do you mean-hotel-no-! Why?? I thought you're staying here? No, no, no! You're not going back to hotel! Why did you book in the first place?!"
"We never said that we're staying here, though. Right, Taiwaaan?" Hong Kong winked at her companion, maintaining her poker face. "Beside, since you confirmed that the wisteria place is free, then I'm planning to head there after dropping by to our hotel."
"No!!" Japan is already hyperventilating.
"Aaand Taiwan promised me a date so—"
"—D-d-date?!—" The Japanese is on the brink of absolute madness.
"—friendly date, so there's that." Hong Kong shrugged.
"Wait, first off—" Japan inhaled deeply. "—Taiwan, you told me that you'd be staying here. We're going to be discussion future economic codependency, right? You didn't even mentioned beforehand that you'll be bringing Li-chan with you!! You can't just leave! You'll leave your brother behind? And you're not allowed to go on a date with Li-chan, do you want me to die? I'd die a horrible death, more horrific than committing seppuku—and I'm so prepared to do that now!— Wait, wait, wait-don't, don't tell me you're sharing room?!! S-surely you're not? You—! Gaaaaah!!!!!"
Japan screamed in pure terror, he fell on his knees ready to plunge his Katana in his stomach—when did he reached for that?—and if it wasn't for Taiwan's lightspeed and iron grip on Japan's hands, guts would've spilled on the floor.
"S-Sei-nii! Calm down! I'm not sharing a room with Lin, though we are still going on a date!" Taiwan screamed the last part in Mandarin, a wide grin on his face. Yes, he's totally not helping at all.
Japan became still, his mouth still hanging open, crimson eyes wide, it's not calmness it's completely shutting off.
Hong Kong cackled, taking pictures of the stunned man with her smartphone. Taiwan followed afterwards.
.....
"This is so going to my reaction pictures." Taiwan laughed from a distance, already making his way out of the small humble house.
"Imagine all the edits possibilities, I'm expecting greatness from you, Taiwan-sama." Hong Kong chuckled, not bothering to look back at the frozen nation.
Their conversation continued, until all Japan can hear is their faint footsteps and voices.
At least they're still speaking in Nihongo?
At least...?
"Seppuku shimasu." Japan finally spoke, his initial action was to retrieve his blade.
That evening, no grand meeting about economic ties between Japan and Taiwan was made, only a sea of intestines and sake, that may or may not have been replaced by blood at some time.

Plot
It’s the year 2100s, fellow human nations struggle to keep their people alive and healthy after the Endless War, which ended anyway.
NOTES AND INFORMATION
This series is heavily inspired on Hetalia, although all the characters and most concepts are original. I just really like the idea of personified nations.
The character references can be seen here.
Everyone is free to ask questions or to give suggestions. I’m very open to interactions!
Since I have a nationality of my own, and there’s no way I’ll be able to achieve complete flawlessness while writing this series, I’m very open to criticisms and want my mistakes to be pointed out so that I can work on it. Though, of course I’ll still do my best to research everything that I will write about.
A HUGE DISCLAIMER. The story took place in the future, however, do not expect high-tech stuffs to appear due to various reasons.
I’ll be updating every Friday!
And with all of that, the most important thing is to have fun! I made this series out of a sudden urge and whim, but along the way I learnt that crafting this was really fun! So I wish to share this sentiment to my following readers. Please have fun and interact freely!
Thank you!
