"I wish there was a good book store closer to home." Ondorus thought to himself. It was a pain having to hide from Kuruna to find one. It wasn't as if he didn't have enough good reading material back at home either but he had read all of those books already. After walking for at least an hour he looked around and realized he had no idea where he was. Sighing to himself, he wondered on further in hopes that there would be someone around to give him some directions. Noticing a rustle behind the tree's in front of him he spoke "Excuse me, could you help me please?"

"Nice to meet you, Laney. My name is Ondorus." Looking around the river, he remembered he was new to this place too and had seemed to of gotten lost too. "Well that is a shame, I wish I could help, but I'm not entirely sure where we are either." He laughed back. "Maybe we could work together ?"

Laney had just finished baking a pie and it was now sitting out to cool. It might not be too bad of a time to take a walk, just to relax a bit. She wrote a note for her Dad to find then left.

She walked for a while, her mind had gotten lost thinking about new and delicious recipes. When she came back to reality she realized that she didn’t know where she was. All that was near her was a calm river. She approached it and gently felt the water with her hand. It was a nice temperature today, not too warm or too cold. A twig snapped behind her and Laney turned and got to her feet again, wanting to be polite.

“Oh, hello.” She greeted the stranger.

Looking around Ondorus was being very careful not to stand out too much. If Kuruna were too find him, he would be violently shouted at for leaving the desert. Deciding it was too risky, he went over to the local river. Then he noticed a person standing by. 

"Oh, hello there, what is your name stranger?" he replied.

Ice cream? Any fruity types I guess. I prefer sorbet to be honest, it is a wonderful dessert to eat on a warm summer's night.

Sitting down in front of the glass he answered with a smile, "Absolutely perfect thank you," Taking a sip from the glass he looked back to her "So, how long have you lived here then? Have you always been away from the humans?" He felt he may  of been asking too many questions, but it was always interesting to meet another species.

He smiled back before replying “Yes I do enjoy books quite a lot, I would love to see your collection. And thank you.” Seeing the house was quite a surprise for Ondorus for it was very different to his tent. All the shrubbery was beautiful, tearing his eyes away from the house and looking to the Witch he answered “Well I would prefer Juice, but if you have none, tea would be lovely,” he said as he walked inside.

“Yes I collect books, that is my main hobby. I have quite a few on spell making. But if you have any I haven’t read, I would be very grateful if you would let me borrow them?” The forest wasn’t really what Ondoris was used to, but the desert has it’s dirty corners. So just ignored the dirt and carried on following her.

“How  interesting, potion brewing is defiantly an interesting topic. You must teach me about it, do you have any books on it?” Although talking about it was a good way to learn reading was much easier for Ondorus. Unsure of where he was going, he just followed her into the forest.

“That makes sense, I guess…. Explosions? Sounds very interesting you must show me how you carry them out.” Onodorus didn’t enjoy carrying out the experiments, for he didn’t enjoy the mess and noise in his home. But he did enjoy reading about them and so watching them in another persons house sounded fun. “Yes I can understand that, I have a friend much similar to you in that sense.”

The elder Kuruna,  thinks we live there because we are exiled from the town. But that was centuries ago, I think if we asked the humans, we would be allowed to live with one another. It’s just been so long, and old traditions die hard I guess.” he laughed slightly at his last comment.
