THIS PUBLIC SPACE HAS BEEN REZONED BY REVOLUTIONARY DECREE
To the Mayor and City Council of the City of Vancouver: Please take notice that the people of this city no longer recognize your authority to control the use and destiny of this piece of land. We specifically reject the municipal bylaws purporting to prescribe and proscribe public behavior in this place. Accordingly, on behalf of the people of Vancouver, Some Popular Front or Other for the Liberation of Public Space (SPFOLPS) hereby declares that all existing municipal zoning ordinances pertaining to this space are abrogated and the new zoning regime for this area shall be as follows: The only legal use of this plaza shall be skipping while singing. Any other use of this public space is extremely illegal. To the People of the City of Vancouver: The new zoning regime will be enforced with characteristic revolutionary zeal. You therefore have two choices: (a) you can embrace the new zoning rules and skip-and-sing your way through this plaza; or (b) you can continue to walk-and-talk in this plaza, but if-and-only-if you do so while enjoying your new-found outlaw badassedness. No counterrevolutionary attitudes will be tolerated -- or even noticed. SPFOLPS 15 June 2013
