Hey, since I didn’t see anything about it in your masterpost I would love to hear what’s your opinion on the different vlives in which people speculate that jikook hide in each others rooms (Osaka vlive for example). To me most of these theories are really far fetched and i never saw real 'evidence' that someone was with jungkook in Osaka for example. In the one vlive I think it’s J-Hope in Tokyo where he ends up going to Jimins room, tae also appears and then Hobi leaves the camera with jimin, in that vlive it’s pretty obvious that someone is in the room, I just wonder why people come to the conclusion that it’s jungkook? Because if it was him, why would he hide. Its not really suspicious to be seen hanging out and having food together. I think there are even more lives than just these two where members might be hiding in each other’s room. Would love to hear your take on all that because you always seem very reliable and rational and don’t overanalyze things!

Hello anon 💜 thank you for your sweet words. I try my best, but this almost makes me nervous because I can wear my tinhat with the best of them! Lmao but sure, yes. Let's talk about our iconic 2016 Osake vlives. Lol this will likely be a very long post. Sorry!

First, I want to say that it is definitely realistic for Jimin or JK or any other member to have been hiding during another members live stream. I would bet money they have done it before without anyone ever knowing because no one gets surprised and things go according to plan. Lol we KNOW they have done this because in 2019 Jimin attempts to join Jin during his Eat Jin vlive and yet not actually be on the live stream. He says something like "I had to come see you and it's better to eat together. But I was just going to sit quietly in the corner over there and watch you" which obviously didn't happen because when the door opened, Jin jumped up to get it and essentially just brought Jimin on camera. Lol his plan to be there but never have us know he was there was foiled. But that does mean they have probably done that before successfully and that a member hiding to not appear on the live stream would be something that could easily happen. Not for any suspicious reasons, just not on camera for any number of reasons. Here is the live that happened in, and it occurs shortly after 13:30 minutes in:

Okay, getting into it with the Osaka Vlive first. This is during July of 2016. Tae starts the live and he ends up in Jungkook's hotel room before finishing it up and living. Here is the OG live, you should all go watch the full thing start to finish if you haven't already. It's only 15 minutes long, so it won't take much time and it's better to always form your own opinions.

Let's start by just stating the facts of what happens. I'll break the entire thing down here, but you should still watch it to get your own views on inflections and/or facial expressions and all that.

So the live starts with V being silly and playing around, doing a tiny bit of singing. Eventually he asked ARMY to give him ideas on what to do with the vlive because he started it with no plan.

They say to stay for an hour. V says no.

They say to touch his toes. He does.

They ask how rhe concert was. He says he was so touched.

They say to go attack the members next door. V says he doesn't even know what their room numbers are. He says to hold on and begins to text the other members to find out what their room numbers are.

He says "Should I go to Jungkook? Let me tell him first." He gets given Jungkooks room number from someone, which is 1112 and says let's go. Grabs the phone and off we go!

He goes and knocks on Jungkook's door. We can hear music playing very loudly, which turns out to be Body Electic by Lana Del Ray. We can literally hear this music before V even gets to his door.

Jungkook asks "Who is this?" 2 times, the second one sounded significantly more irritated than the first.

V says he is on Vlive and that it's V. Jungkook shouts to Hold on, and that he isn't wearing any clothes. And keeps telling him to wait. While V makes his perv face at the camera and says "Jungkookie isn't wearing any clothes?"

Jungkook announces he isn't wearing any pants as he opens the door. V walks into a dark hotel room with the music still playing loud. Jungkook is still working on tying his robe closed. V asks what song this is, JK says he doesn't know. Asks him to hold on and turns the music off. V even looks puzzled as to why he is still tying his robe closed "Did you just untie that?" And messes with him as he is fixing it.

Jungkook asks "What are you doing? Why are you here? You scared me." At this point, Tae has been looking around the room more and his face goes more blank. He says he wanted wanted be on V, when they start trying to re turn the music back off. They talk about how the music is from Bluetooth on JKs phone. The lights have been flipped on now too.

We are about halfway through the live now. JK again asks why he is there. Tae says to be on V with you. JK asks if they are on live and says hello.

JK introduces himself and says HI. He says he was just eating rice and bread. And he was about to eat bread again. He goes and gets some and takes a big bite

Tae asks for them to sing together for ARMY like they were earlier. The lights accidentally get flipped on and off again for a second here. Tae lays down on the bed and JK is off camera but we can hear him loudly smacking his bread 😬 love the sounds of people eating with their mouth open. Lmao

We hear off camera a surprised "Oh. You scared me!" While V is busy quietly staring into our souls. Excuse me, sir. JK comes back on camera and asks what should they do. V replies that he is just there for ARMY.

JK then shares with us that he hadn't washed up yet. (From their concert earlier I am assuming) and Tae says he hasn't either. JK again, with the open mouth bread smacking, thanks love. Lol and V says they should serenade their army.

JK ignores him and just comments on how his makeup is smeared. Just smeared everywhere. LOL but then asks V if he really has to sing

V says Yes, that he sang it and they can find the karoke version and JK agrees to let him pick a song for him to sing.

JK asks if all the members have sang for ARMY. V says Yes, everyone did. JK replies to thay with a "hmm really? are you sure? I think you are lying" v defends himself and JK starts asking if he should eat Ramen while V looks for and starts the song he wants JK to sing for ARMY. But JK doesn't know it and asks to him to find a song he does know.

Our broke millionaires first listen to the ads before the song comes on. Lmao JK once again doesn't know the song, saying he doesn't know many pop songs. Third time is the charm and he sings Dear No one by Tori Kelley for us. V dances around him during it, JK hums the parts he doesn't know as well, and he glances continually to the side off camera.

JK says he knows Paper Heart better and apologized for not knowing the lyrics as much. Tae then randomly says "I talked to Jin-hyung" and JK questions "Jin hyung? I need to sing I love you to Jin hyung." They laugh. JK asks if they will stay on Vlive for a long time. V again says "I talked to Jin hyung. He is taking a bath now." JK questions, now? And Tae again gives us a perv face to the camera. Lol

Tae then goes "Ah, Wait. Jimin-ah..."

JK asks if he is going to go back to Jimin's room? Tae says "if he checks my message if not then nevermind." And he starts to leave. JK says he will study english (I think apologizing for not knowing all the english lyrics very well). He says Bye from standing at the back of his room still as V leaves.

As V is leaving down the hallway, the door slammed quickly right behind him. We then hear loud voices from down the hall where he just left. Tae stopped and looked a little nervous, staring back down the hall. We hear a door open and shut again. And Tae then looks back at the camera, and says he thinks he has to say goodbye now. He says he locked himself out of his room by accident so he has to go get a new key and turn off the live. He last line is "Ah what's wrong with me. Bye bye."

Whew. Okay. Now let's get into what I personally think is going on in context and background and little details here. Yes, this is tipping more into an analysis side of things here. Do we need our tinhats? Maybe. Keep them nearby just in case. Lol

So let's first say that I feel like it's obvious he texted a bunch of people (maybe their group chat?) and Jin is the one who replied. Tae told us he was talking to Jin and he was right now in the bath. That 100% implies that he was talking to him very recently, while Jin was in the bath. So Tae texts and asks for room numbers to do vlive with ARMY. Jin replies that he is in the bath, but gives him Jungkook's number. Tae texts JK that he is on the way and goes to his room.

I also think it is super obvious that while Tae TRIED to warn JK that he was coming over with ARMY, JK did not recieve that warning. Meaning he was not on his phone and was not checking it at all. We can tell this by his constant who is there and why are you here comments. He was also still naked. Lol he could have been getting dressed already if he knew he was coming over. If he saw the warning text, he wouldn't have been so caught off gaurd.

Now Tae obviously interupted something. Lights down low, no clothes, makeup smeared, a few snacks, sexy music... we know he wasn't getting in or recently finished getting a shower because JK told us he hasn't washed up yet. And it would be fair to assume that perhaps he just had on a Playlist of some sorts that he possibly didn't even make, considering that he didn't know what song was playing when Tae asked and instead just turned it off. A sexy smooth music Playlist perhaps? Body Electric is a frequent song that gets put on sex Playlists. You can also see the exact moment that Tae clocks into that he perhaps interupted something here too. He looks around and carefully blanks his face. Which had literally just been silly and teasing for JK. And lets keep in mind what Jimin told us this year during Run. That Tae is really good at keeping other people's secrets by keeping a blank face.

For comparison, shortly after Tae clocks in that he has probably interupted something he shouldn't have interupted... and then a few moments later he lays on the bed and quickly blanks his face again when we hear "you scared me" His "don't react," and hiding someone else's secret face...

Now backing up a bit again, JK finally gives us an idea of what he was doing. He says he was eating rice and bread. And that he was about to eat some bread again. Now I'm not one to judge, but that's quite some bread you must have been eating. Naked, with mood lighting and sexy music, in a way that results having super smudged makeup.... personally, I don't think he was eating bread... lol but he proceeded to eat some NOW. Lol to maybe prove his point, idk. Yup, just in here eating, nothing to see.

Tae lays down on the bed, JK is no longer on camera. But we can still hear him smacking away on his bread 😅 but we also hear someone say "oh you scared me!" And.... well that person's voice did not sound like JKs voice. And JK had a giant mouth full of bread, this didn't sound like someone who was talking around a mouthful of food. AND we can see Tae the whole time. He was quiet and still on the bed. Doing nothing to surprise anyone. So we can assume that he wasn't the person who scared someone or got scared. And it's safe to assume that since JK is smacking his bread loudly, he also wasn't the one who said anything, meaning he also wasn't the person who got scared. This leaves us with the only conclusion left, that someone else was in the room. Which just goes along with what I said about how I don't think JK was just eating a snack when Tae showed up. I think Tae interupted something else. Something that required no clothes and setting the mood. Something that could result in smeared makeup. I do not think he was alone in that room.

Another reason why I think someone else was in that room would be when JK was singing. He wasn't just randomly letting his eyes wander. He was looking at something (someone maybe) in particular. His eyes kept returning to the exact same spot off screen as he sung, he did this a total of 10 times. And another could be that when Tae left, JK was at the back of the room, over by the TV, the door closed very quickly. Tae didn't close the door, JK didn't close the door. Now this one is more iffy to me because some hotel doors close slowly and if it was to close that quick, would require a push. Others just slam like they are trying to take your fingers off. We don't know how those hotel doors function otherwise. But i will say that after he gets to his door, the voices we here coming from that same (otherwise previously empty) hallway he just left, there were 2 voices talking. So in conclusion. JK was NOT alone, and he was probably up to something a little more adult in nature then just eating bread. JK was also naked, we do not know the state of said other person AND I don't care how you spin it, JK having to scramble for clothes to let V in, just to have someone else sitting in that room would have been very suspicious. Soooo yes, the other person stayed hiding. Lol we do not know WHO the other person was, but I do feel like it's not a stretch to say there was definitely someone else in there.

Okay, lets also talk about Jimin. Yes, I do believe that it was Jimin hiding in the room. This is one of those theories I buy into it. Part of it is simply how they behaved around each other during this time frame and others is more concrete. But we will never have "proof" so it's up to you if you believe it or not. It's okay either way! Not everyone has to agree. Here is why I think it was Jimin:

At 6:27 in the vlive when Tae is knocking on the door, in between shouts of "who is it" we hear JK say what sounds like "Jimi-" it's quiet, but if you turn the volume up, you CAN hear it. And it sounds a little panicky. Now does that mean he was actually saying Jimins name? No. It could have been anything, but it certainly sounds a little like it.

The "Oh, you scared me" 100% sounds similar to Jimin's voice. Again, doesn't mean it was jimin for sure, but the similarities did strike me.

The white phone caught on frame. We know it isn't JKs phone because he picks his up to turn off the music from the other side of the room. Tae is holding his phone in his hand. We see Jimin on live the next day holding a white phone in a black case. Very similar. Possibly it is his and in the rush to hide, it got left sitting out whenever they originally had put it down? Or it could be JKs second phone. Who knows.

Another thing that at the very least makes me feel very confident that it was probably another member in this room was JK asking if all the members sang already. And then calling V out on lying when he said yes. Lol we already know that JK was not watching his live ahead of time nor did he check his text messages warning him that Tae was coming, remember his panic and surprise at having someone knock on his door? That was not someone who was aware of what Tae was up to or had been watching his live stream already to know what Tae had already done. I'm pretty sure he simply knew that Tae was lying because he had one of the members currently hiding in his bathroom. He knew what at least one of the other members had been doing recently and it wasn't singing on Vlive with Tae. Lol we also know it couldn't have been Jin, who told Tae he was relaxing in the bathtub at that moment. Probably winding down from their concert. That leaves Jimin, Namjoon, Yoongi and Hobi. Yoongi we know tends to hole up on tour and rest/work on his music. He doesn't spend a ton of time socializing with the other members. NamKook, HopeKook, and YoonKook.... well they simply don't exude the same amounts of sexual tension that Jikook do.... not even close. If someone was in there "eating bread" with Jungkook and we assume it was another member, the best guess is Jimin.

At the end of the live, Tae basically sends off a "Jimin, I'm coming" text and goes to leave. JK asks if he is going to go to Jimins room next and Tae says not if he doesn't check my messages. He then promptly returned to his own room without even checking his phone. I think he already knew where Jimin was and that he wasn't going to be getting any texts back from him. I also think a JK had a moment of "uhh, Don't take that live stream to Jimin's room and show army that it's empty." Lol I think this was V partially teasing them, partially giving himself an excuse to leave, get out and then find a way to turn off the live. "I said I would go see Jimin if he texted me, he hasn't. Sorry army. Time to go" type thing.

And the kicker for me, the one that goes... yeah... I think that was Jimin. Was his unexplained saltiness and pettiness towards Taehyung the very next day. He started his own live stream with ARMY the following day and basically shaded Tae left and right, followed by being super petty about not letting him in his room and really making him work for it. Even though he invited JK and Jin in happily. 100% Essentially playing up a mean girls petty act. Who knows why. But Jimin was salty about it. Perhaps about the night before, perhaps about Tae not wanting to do the vmin mandaggo vlives anymore. Probably both. He eventually relents and lets Tae in and they all have a good time. But there was zero reason for Jimin to be pissy at Tae, unless he also had an evening interupted and wasn't pleased.

Now does that mean that Vmin couldn't have gotten into another ridiculous fight or just about the vlive stuff, later that night which resulted in Jimins saltiness? No, that totally could've been what happened. But it doesn't look like a vmin fight to me, it looks like Jimin's petty revenge and making Tae beg for it a bit. We will probably never know. But this very much so connects for me. There were simply too many coincidences here to simply ignore.

Now I've seen people questioning why Tae stayed or why they opened the door if that is what was happening. For one, JK was obviously in his room. The shouting, the music, etc. He was home. It would have been suspicious and rude if he shouted at Tae to just go away. Easier to try and just play it off. And once Tae clocked into what was happening, it would have been suspicious as heck if he just randomly hightailed it out of there. I think they did a good job in a bad circumstance of playing off the awkwardness and trying to just get through it and move on. No one was at fault for anything or trying to do anything bad. It was a unfortunate situation of bad timing and unknown variables. Tae couldn't have possibly known what he was going to walk into. Lol they all played it off well and Tae excused himself fairly quickly. And he did look a little guilty as he listened to the argument down the hall and ended the live.

No, I'm not saying that Jikook were having sex, but Im also saying there is plenty that you can do without actually doing that in particular. I'm just saying that I do think Jimin was in that room engaging in whatever activities they were doing... ya know... Eating bread, in the dark, naked, with mood music. Before they were interupted unexpectedly. Lol

In the end, yes... this is one of the more of a stretch theories I accept. You are all free to agree/disagree as you will. This is already WAY long. If you want me to talk more about Jimin's live the next day, I can. Just let me know. Or if you want me to do another post about J-hope and Jimin's 2016 Toyko vlive that you also mentioned here, I can as well. Let me know. Times Tae Debunked Tkkrs and Affirmed Jikook

I know a lot of Jikookers aren’t happy with Tae right now. They hold him responsible for stoking the fire that fuels Tkkrs. And Like I’ve previously stated I’m not one to police peoples feelings or opinions. Your anger is your own, same going for your opinions.However, in the spirit of peace and reconciliation I want to remind everyone of all the times Tae has intentionally and unintentionally debunked Tkk and affirmed Jikook…because he has done so more than any other member.

Tae has a personality that you either choose to hate or you choose to love because he’s an enigma. It’s often times difficult to know if he’s as oblivious as he seems, a genius mastermind that plays the airhead card, a free spirit or all of the above…my vote goes to all of the above! 

There are moments where it’s clear Tae is up to no good and is trying to serve JM and JK their just desert for abandoning him by exposing their location. Other times it seems like he has put zero thought into the implications of his words. However, regardless of his motives (or lack thereof) Tae is pretty good at playing games in the category of “softly exposing Jikook.”

So for funsies lets kick this off with one of Tae’s favorite games called…..

“Whose Room is It Anyway?”

When on tour it appears as though Tae never knows where other members rooms are. He’s either always messaging the group chat to find out where everyone is OR he’s just plain ole confused about whose room he’s in. 

Exhibit A. Osaka V live

I don’t think there’s a jikooker alive that hasn’t heard of this Vlive. However, When most here the words “Osaka” and “V-live” what typically comes to mind is JK clearly muttering the name “Jimin” whilst being butt naked in a dark room listening to sexy time music. 

However, what’s often overlooked is the how and the why we know this sensitive information. You see this gem of a jikook moment came to us for one reason and one reason only and that reason is Kim Taehyung and his childlike innocence (then). 

Tae has never been good at operating solo on his Vlives. He tends to run out of things to say and in this live that’s what happened. He ran out of things to talk about so he called on his fans to give him suggestions. They suggested he go to another members room. But Tae being Tae…didn’t know ANY of their room numbers! Don’t believe me…I have the receipts!

See he didn’t know any of the members room numbers. He texts the group chat to get members room numbers and I guess it was Jin that replied with the members room numbers. Not JK. Jin. Tae decided to go to JK’s room (my guess is because he can pull the hyung card on him and sort of voluntell him to go along) and he messaged JK to let him know he was coming but JK never responded. We know this because when he arrived JK asked him multiple ties what he was doing there. 

Now I won’t analyze this Jikook moment because it’s been analyzed enough. What I want to point out is how in this moment  Tae unintentionally debunked every Taekook claim because HE. DIDN’T. KNOW.JK’s. ROOM. NUMBER!!! 

I don’t know about you but I’m 100% certain that I wouldn’t need a third party to tell me where my boyfriends room was!

Now some may cry…this was just one time…he probably just forgot! And I would respond…haven’t you heard the news????? Tae is the grand champion of the game Who’s Room Is It Anyway!

Don’t believe me? Let’s take a look at a few more examples

Exhibit B. New Jersey Vlive

This moment is another famous Jikook Vlive most known for Jikooks tension. However, when watching this I also noticed that while Tkkers for some reason also like to claim this live as their own, Tae debunks them. I mean he again broadcast his lack of knowledge of where JK’s room is. Take a look for yourself down below .. .

Tae didn’t know whose room he was in. My guess is he thought it was either JM’s or JK’s room.

Now to be fare… a “valid” question does arise…and that question is if he didn’t know JK’s room number, how did he get there??

And to answer that question I’d say he could have done many things including but not limited to texting the group chat…but in reality its neither here nor there because this one simple fact remains…TAE WASN’T CERTAIN OF THE ROOM HE WAS IN! If he were dating JK he wouldn’t need to ask him…he’d know!

How’s the old saying go???

Again another famous vlive with popular Jikook moments…the most popular moment being Jimin’s TMI where he exposed how frequently JK comes to his room. It was a funny moment…a funny moment that yet again Tae used to debunk Taekook by broadcasting how unfamiliar he is with JK’s room situation.

What boyfriend would so frequently be confused as to where his partner is sleeping? Moreover, why would that same boyfriend confuse his partners room for his best friends?? Hmmm??? Either JK is cheating on Tae with JM and has been for years or JK has never been Tae’s boyfriend!! I’d bet on the latter considering Tae’s jovial expression when admitting to the fact he never knows where JK’s room is!

First time is a mistake

Second time’s a choice

Third time is a habit…a habit that spells out the phrase “GET.OUT.OF.YOUR.IMAGINATION”

Now this next round of Tae Games is pretty spicy. The game is called–>

“Karma’s a B**H ”

When it comes to Jimin, Tae can sometimes act like a jilted bride. He doesn’t like it when Jimin “ditches” him for JK. When this happens Tae sometimes makes a point to call him out …

Exhibit A: The Salty Smirk

I’m not certain if this is Tae punishing JK for keeping his JM from him or punishment for JM for ditching him or BOTH? Either way Tae was not shy about exposing JM’s and JK’s whereabouts (at god awful hours). And he didn’t just expose where they were…he exposed why Jimin wouldn’t join him…

JM wouldn’t be joining Tae because JK wouldn’t let him. UM? What? Jungkook…the maknae, the member with the least amount of seniority is keeping JM, his hyung from hanging out with him on vlive? I don’t think people understand enough how much Tae exposed them here! And that smirk…he knew what he was doing!

It’s not just oh Jimin can’t come because he’s hanging out with JK…it’s no JM can’t come because JK won’t allow him! Let that sit with you for a second! “JK is stopping Jimin from coming!” Tae is strongly insinuating that Jikook’s power structure is outside the normal hyung dongsaeng dynamic.  Tae straight up destroyed any theory that he’s dating JK by exposing Jikook’s relational dynamics. The boy is chaotic!

Exhibit B & C

Again with exhibit B we have Tae exposing Jimin’s whereabouts and why he’s not with him. It seems like Tae is quite salty about getting left at the alter and JM always running off to be with JK?!/!?! Don’t believe me….look below!

Still don’t believe me? Here’s one more moment in which Tae is in the mood for chaos. 

Now, in this moment Tae doesn’t mention why Jimin decides not to join him at the gym but look at his face…look at that smirk!! Doesn’t it remind you of something else??? Maybe it reminds you of Exhibit A. It seems like he is itching to tell us why Jimin didn’t join him but this time chose not to say it aloud but definitely hints at…that smirk can only mean it’s something spicy.

And don’t we later learn that Jikook had many drinks that same night…because they were sending Hobi off??!!?! 

I mean this boy is chaos itself! and We may be like…what the hell happened to this Tae? The Tae that loved debunking his own ship and exposing Jikook!.! 

My response to that is I don’t doubt that Tae still exist seeing that the above photo is recent…he may be  chaotic and irking peoples nerves right now but he really has done a lot to show the world that him and JK are nothing but friends! He has directly debunked tkkers and indirectly debunked them SOOO MANY TIMES! The only way they’d believe him is if photos were leaked of him with someone else….wait! That already happened and they still don’t believe him… I guess now the only thing he can do is come out with it and say he’s dating Jennie…and hell he might! AFTER his album comes out there might be an announcement!? 

I’m actually crossing my fingers that they do make the official announcement after his album drops! But let’s wait and see. In the meantime I am holding my judgement because for years the above Tae is what we got and what we loved! 

There are so many more instances of him debunking his own ship and affirming Jikook but here are just the standouts!

The Long Game

First, let's acknowledge some major mismanagement by BigHit. Then, let's talk about what I think *might possibly* be their long game.

These are just guesses I have right now--I'm not stating facts and my opinions are subject to change as new info becomes available. But come with me for a few minutes...

In early 2022, Jimin's mail was "omitted" four times by BigHit employees, which lead to late insurance premium payments, which led to an on-paper "seizure" of his apartment. The press sat on that news for three months until the day his With You OST dropped and the scandal overshadowed his release. Jimin went to ground, avoided all social media for months. At this time, Jimin's personal information was leaked on the internet, and that was the last time we saw Jikook hang out alone that we know of.

Now in 2023, since Jimin's album FACE dropped, we already know about the sabotaged sales and streams by Hanteo, Billboard, YouTube, and Spotify. There was the issue with his in-ears not working properly during an encore. On top of all that drama, BigHit didn't get all the physicals shipped in time, they didn't playlist his songs for several days, they never sent his songs to radio (that we can see), they made one tweet to acknowledge Jimin's #1 on Hot100 but nothing else--not even a cake like the other solo albums got, they didn't let him film more than two music videos when they did that for their new groups, the press releases about their stocks going up after Hot100 also credited their new groups, and Jimin only had 9 days of uninterrupted promo between other members' works.

Now I am not a conspiracy theorist. I well understand that the military enlistment compressed schedules, and that each member had say in their creative works and promotions. I'm not a manti. But none of the above is a good look. Add up all those fumbles together, and you could make a solid case for mismanagement.

And now today, we see PD Bang on the cover of Billboard (which, OF COURSE, mentioned Blackpink in the same breath).

JUST LOOK AT THE WAY THE STORY IS BEING SHAPED FOR AMERICAN READERS. You see what's happening here? You think SM is gonna get a cover story for their side of the corporate shakedown?

And then there's this little gem:

"If your question is about the possibility of creating an artist like BTS again, the answer is no. However, if you were to ask whether there would be a K-pop artist from HYBE that tops the Billboard Hot 100 chart, my answer would be yes. [Jimin became the first BTS member to achieve this as a solo act on April 3 when his single “Like Crazy” debuted at No. 1.] The experience of managing BTS and operating different labels gave us access to powerful networks, infrastructures and experiences. With these, HYBE can repeat its remarkable results with the help of talented artists.

Okay so before everyone starts rioting online, take a moment, pause, reflect, think about what all might be going on here, behind the scenes, in this very political world of the music business.

Do I think Bang PD screwed Jimin over to score points with Billboard? No, I do not. But neither do I think Jimin's solo effort is anyone's priority but Jimin's.

"HYBE is primarily focusing on leveraging its accumulated expertise in managing and producing acts that consist of multiple members, rather than solo artists or mixed-gender groups in K-pop."

I think no one ever expected Jimin to make it to #1 on Hot100 and industry insiders felt pretty sure the West wouldn't let him stay in the top 10 the next week. Why? Well, partially racism. But mostly it's bad for their bottom line.

If your entire business model is that people pay for radio play and that gets them on your private chart and the private chart leads to more advertisers and awards... and then someone comes along and DOESN'T pay to play and gets to the top of your chart? Nobody needs you. So you HAVE to sabotage them. You absolutely have to change your rules. (I'm just sitting here waiting for Jimin to release his other songs so that Billboard can change their rules to say you can't be on Hot100 if your name starts with J- and ends with -imin.)

Now, it might have been satisfying for us as fans to see BigHit come out swinging and put Billboard on blast for his sake and ours. But they have ZERO. LEGAL. RECOURSE.

Billboard is privately owned and they can make whatever rules they want. They are part of a larger media company that has connections to every media outlet; no one is gonna publish an exposé any time soon, I promise you. We got exactly ONE English-speaking website to write about it and that was it. Everyone in the industry knows what is going on, and no one has the power to do anything much about it.

So what does that mean for the future?

Well... Bang PD just recently paid a HUGE mark up of $26 million to buy Trevor Noah's home out in LA.

And now he's on the cover of Billboard. WHY? Neither of these things will result in any immediate payout for him.

It's a long game.

And frankly, a very old and honored way of doing business. It's how they went up against the big three and it's how they are gonna go up against the West, I feel it in my gut.

Bang PD is getting a home on US soil. He will be paying US taxes. He's making in-roads by being nice with Billboard folks. He's making contacts; he's already had phone calls with Pharrell and Bieber and Grande and Laroi. Some of those are already shaping into collabs. We already know Hybe has set up shop in the US with Scooter at the helm.

Meanwhile, BigHit is adjusting in real time to the new rules around the charts (culling is happening to Yoongi too, so they changed up the check-out process of the BTS US Store). Suddenly there's plenty of focus on promoting via TikTok and other viral social media. They are dipping their toe into AI. They are discussing their own in-house ticketing option. This company is looking toward the future and hedging its bets.

Do I know with any certainty what's up their sleeve?

Absolutely not.

Do I trust any corporation very much?

Nope.

Do I have faith in BTS?

Probably more than anything else in my life, at this point.

So while I have no insider info, I just feel like the company is making very intentional and methodic footholds into the West. They are not complaining or screaming or suing or threatening anyone. They are not badmouthing competitors or whining about unfair deals. They are laying ground on complicated, political in-roads, one step at a time.

The Expo is in 2030. I'd wager by that time, BTS will have conquered the West and have some radio play.

And I think the company believes that in order to do that, they have to make their new groups profitable while BTS serves. They have to survive for the next two years.

When BTS is back, and their dues have been paid, I think they will be unstoppable. I hope they get to work on solo projects AND group projects. I think they will take over every corner of the world, if managed properly.

They just need to do it in a way that also assuages the Western music industry. The American Powers That Be have a chokehold on music and they will demand their pound of flesh somehow.

I strongly suspect BTS will never pay to play. But they will build relationships and find a way to become so interwoven in the cultural fabric that to deny them a place in Western spaces is to be left behind. And they will do it politely, and gently, and come out smelling like a rose.

So before you go off on social media and scream the walls down about neglect (and there WAS some, in my opinion) and abuse (we don't really know that), just take a moment to consider--if they had no legal recourse against Billboard, how can they beat them at their own game?

The best way to defeat an enemy is to make them a friend.

I'm just guessing here, but I think if fans stay loyal, BTS just might have the last laugh, here. I think they got radio scared as hell.

It sucks that Jimin didn't get fair treatment at this time. He is my bias and I feel it like a knife to my own heart. But he DID make history with his #1 and they can never take it away.

So I say give it time. All the people sniggering at him and BTS right now are going to sing a different tune in the future.

My best guess is that this is a long game, and it will require sacrifices that are totally unfair, but in the end... well, as long as BTS has ARMY, they cannot be denied.

Thank you for the time you put into this wonderful blog. I am an "old" fan of jikook, I have a son JMs age and a queer trans son as well so my heart breaks on a regular basis for these men not being able to live their authentic selves. The last verse in Letter about it being scary and them being afraid but they can be together has brought me to motherly tears more than once.

Curious for your opinion if JKs building the "fortress" is to give them the privacy they need. Secondarily, could they have said they were platonic roommates from the beginning or is that not typical in Korea?

It's interesting to see what connects each and every one of us to BTS as a whole and to JM and JK in particular. I think that you and I are kind of similar in that respect. Seeing them, accepting them, also through the eyes of mothers with children that have to deal with these day to day struggles.

JK's fortress. I love that you call it that and I do hope that it turns out to be one. A fortress to keep out those crazy fans that don't understand what the concept of privacy is, nor do they understand boundaries between fan and artist.

Do I think this is something he's building for the two of them?

I want to.

I want to think that come 2025 or whenever it is that they get out of the military, that they will feel that they can do what they want to, no fear, nothing holding them back.

He could be planning on reselling (probably would have sold it as is and not put in the money and time to build up a new place instead of the old one). He could be building this for his parents (plausible but again not probable). Another possibility would be building an apartment building and selling the apartments, but that would have been made public knowledge by now. So my money is on it being built for himself.

And I find it hard to believe he's building this monstrosity just for himself to live there alone.

I want to think that this big ass house being built is meant to be their future home. With the privacy and security they need to feel safe.

Time will tell I guess.

If this does become JK's home and if JM will be living there with him, it will be something hard to hide long term, even with the best security possible. It always comes out. The truth about 9-1 did, the same with Brunnen.

And that brings us back to: if they are planning this, what does it mean about Jikook post MS?

As for your question about platonic roommates.

Well, yeah, they could be, if they weren't multimillionaires I guess, lol.

Look, I think that at a certain age, which would probably be post college age, so late 20s to early 30s, same sex roommates that behave the way those two do with each other, will clearly be side eyed as more than roommates.

And add the multimillionaire factor to it, it would be REALLY strange and kind of obvious that they aren't just roommates.

The two of them living together as roommates most likely didn't feel plausible for them even back when they all started moving out of the dorms because even then it was clear that they are more than that.

So no, roommates cover not a cover for them, lol.

JM's hugs

Idk, somehow I feel like we always talk about JK's back hugs.

Maybe it's the way he engulfs JM, maybe it's the way those moments are so confident, a kind of message within the hug.

But this time I want to talk about JM's hugs.

It's not always full hugs, at times just a leaning on JK's nape or a piggy back. But the vibe is the same.

They are usually soft and mushy and just EVERYTHING.

Let's look at the many different types of hugs JM has for his Jungkookie.

The "I want to hug you and I want it now" hug (or otherwise known as the is it you is it me alcohol induced hug).

The "I need you to keep me warm" hug.

The toying hug (I mean he did say JK was his toy).

The "I want something from you hug"

The "I'm so happy (with you)" hug.

The protector and comforting hug.

The "I'm going to keep you warm" hug.

Side hugs

The "this is my man, come at me, let's see you try".

Face to face hug, the awkward shy one or the confident one.

The comfy cozy hug.

The "we're having fun" hug.

The "sigh, let's just stay here forever" hug.

The "it's me that needs this hug" hug.

The "you're my man, you can't run away from me" hug

The "do we even call this a hug" hug?

BTB Hobi Entrance Ceremony with BTS

I knew this would be landing today. No captions yet though.

They were all keeping up a brave face but it was obvious that each and every one of them (that we saw) was deeply sad. Did I or did I not say NJ was crying?

The love they all feel for each other, all of them, and the love they all, each and every one of them have for Hobi, it's just beyond description. They are a family. A mostly functional non biological loving family.

As we know, they arrived one after the other, pretty much at the same time. We see JK and Tae behind him walk up to Hobi interact with him and then JM comes over complaining of a back ache.

Muscle memory kicks in, it's just such a natural thing for him to do - JM in pain, JK goes into carer mode, reaching out to JM.

That hand.

JM doesn't seem to notice, walks by JK and Tae straight to Hobi for a hug.

A few seconds later JM turns to the person that gives him comfort, the person he gives comfort to, for this:

And a big strong super tight hug.

Prey do tell me, what about that interaction warranted that hug exactly?

That hug. That tone they have with each other.

The others just doing their own thing, not bothered what so ever, while Jikook are being Jikook right beside them.

Same same.

And it didn't end.

The camera panned out (or rather in, to Hobi and Tae's conversation/interaction) while they were still embraced. Still doing whatever they were up to. You can hear them in the background even though the cameraman decided enough is enough and better leave them out of frame at that point.

Ok, so listen up.

We know JK arrived the night before.

We know JK isn't wearing his CK jacket.

With Jikooks is it me is it you alcohol teasing going on there before that mighty hug, I kind of have a feeling the two were busy drinking together, not getting too much sleep, maybe leaving in a bit of a rush in the morning and being a little hung over, Mr. Jeon took the wrong jacket by mistake?

Hope he didn't get into trouble with CK, although with the success so far of his ambassadorship (shares prices going up, sales through the roof), I doubt they will be too bothered.

Just a theory here folks. Mostly unsubstantiated and can clearly be written into the next Twitter fanfic.

**Note to self: maybe I should start writing fanfics, or fiction in general, I might just have a knack for it...

See, I'm not the only one that figures the two were drinking together...

The way JK just allows JM to do whatever he wants with him, lol.

I don't know if you noticed this, but a. most of the time that we did see them they were by each other's side, mostly glued together; and b. Much of the time they were off frame, and it felt intentional, probably because they didn't budge from each other's side.

The way all their faces lit up when Jin arrived.

Sadly, they couldn't show Jin in the BTB. Which means folks, that we won't be getting to see Jin and Hobi in any future content that may or may not be created upon the enlistment of the next member.

And a little bit more...

Once again everything is happening while I’m in dreamland. Nothing new on my side of the world. But it’s great to wake up to good news that’s for sure. JM made it to #1 Billboard 100 guys!!!!!!!!!!!!

I know I already posted about it, but man (and woman), this is just WOW. Do we really understand how huge this is?

He's just ruling it all.

It’s effing huge. Guys, this is history in the making. And I’m sorry, I’m going to be soooooo petty right now, but I’m still going to say it.  Victory is so sweet, even sweeter when it’s fucking screaming in the faces of all those fuckers that were shaming JM and hating on him. Fuck you motherfuckers!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Ok, it’s out of my system now.  And I guess I should have put a disclaimer on it before, but I also know you’ll survive a couple of profanities coming out of my mouth (who would have believed that little me used to shy away from words like this, and now I literally swear like a sailor, lol).   Hobi was the first to write a post for JM.

JM then wrote a post and Yoongi and Hobi commented on it.

JM also posted on IG and RM and Hobi reacted.

Hobi, the Hobi that he is, also posted on his IG story, and NJ did too. In his live, which I will talk about in a second, JM tells us that NJ also spoke with him telling him how proud of him he is.

 JM posts a partial screenshot of his laptop and then he goes live. 3:30 am KST.

He says he couldn't say what he wanted in a post, he tried to write, and showed us too, so he came live.

It was short.  It was sweet. I, of course, missed the lot of it.   A few points I caught up on: When JM starts the live you hear stuff going on.

K-army are screaming about it, literally going crazy.

You guys go listen.

K-army, they are saying this is what they hear:

Door sound

Someone saying "go quickly" ("palli ga")

Straw sound (and we know who's been with a straw in his mouth lately).

JM's voice

A kiss sound

And a laugh sound.

I do hear something that sounds like a door, talking, something that sounds like a sucking, maybe through a straw a sound that could definitely be a kiss and a giggle or something similar, then JM appears in front of the camera, wiping his mouth.

This is obviously a gaming room (will get to that too), in his supposedly empty apartment (only JM there, right?).  Why the need to close the door if he’s there alone?

Who would he be talking to? I mean, he could be easily talking to himself, I know I do sometimes (oops, me definitely sharing too much right now), but I can't see me telling myself to go quickly. It's kind of something you would tell someone if you either a. want them to leave the room quickly; or b. want them to end the live asap.

JM is talking really softly. Perhaps not to bother someone who's trying to sleep in the other room. Maybe. Who knows. He did say his voice was effected from being sick (I will get to that too).

Hobi comments on it, JM being so quiet.

JM kind of makes some noise, but not really, lol. He isn't well though, he does say that he had indigestion (eating too fast after not eating at all), a fever and was bringing up.

It's funny though how JM is definitely trying to keep it down because it's at home (?). Isn't this the same person having the giggles telling us how noisy JK can get when they are up to their shenanigans (he didn't say it in those words, but it's implied). Poor neighbours, I hope they have good sound proofing.

He tells us he's not sleepy.

Yes JM, there is another special someone that seems to do his lives at the same time, you know, your night buddy!!

The second gaming chair – the one JM panicked us seeing.  It’s his reaction more than anything that is sus here.

Something he clearly didn't plan for us to see.

Also, do you notice something? I admit, that at first I didn’t.  Needed some help from a friend on this one, lol.  And btw, thank you friend 💜😘  .

JM talks about his dad's reaction to the achievement as well to his album.

 

This is kind of what I was talking about with JK and perhaps his feelings about the album. JM's father was upset, saddened to hear all these struggles his son was going through.

As for JK, he was there, by JM's side, saw the pain, the struggles, and they were brought to life in these songs. I can see how this could be hard for him to hear. SMF pt. 2, a song that JK clearly loves and will listen to repeatedly, is JM's deliverance. Him releasing himself (trying to in any case) from those negative thoughts, feelings, that held him down. You could see the pride and joy on JK's face watching the MV and dance practice, especially part 2 of the song.

Now for the fun part, lol.

JM reads the comments: "I married V", his reaction, while giggling:

Next, I don't know if he's answering a comment, but he says he could really eat spicy ramen. And then, he was probably asked if he ate ramen, to which he answers:

A-ha, we kind of knew it...

All he had to do was ask...

And this follows:

These comments are atrocious, and the members are over them, but these fans, they just don't stop.

As annoying as they are to them, to JM particularly during the live, seeing V married off amused him.

JK, on the other hand, well that's a different story all together.

That's when it was time to set things straight, as far as he was concerned.

This was JM saying:

"hey bish, this is where it ends. You can have V, but Jungkookie, he's mine... Oh, and yeah, I just put him to bed"

LMAO.

Nice letting that “I’m married to JK” stupid fan with her stupid comment (didn’t we all talk about this? Didn’t half of the fandom already say enough is enough? Didn’t RM hint to stop this stupidity?) know that he’s the one who knows where and what JK is doing at the moment… JM promised us a post... I feel like he was struggling to put into words what he wanted to say, you saw it during the live, and he also said he found it hard to write it down. He probably still will post something. That's JM.

Is it possible that there’s a boyfie in the other room trying to sleep after screaming and crying together?  And perhaps still won't be able to sleep... You know, like they did with the Dynamite announcement… at 4am...

If only we were lucky enough and they would let us know like they did, eventually, after Dynamite.

Not holding my breath though.

JM, that sweetheart, throughout the whole live tells us how much he loves us, expresses his gratitude towards the members, the producers that worked with him, the people that helped make this album come true.

He is such a beautiful soul.

Like I said. It was short. It was sweet. We had a couple of interesting revelations/suspicious moments.

And now we wait for JK's live.

Jungkook W-live 28 March 2023

I knew it. 

I bloody well knew it.

I had this feeling in my gut that JK is going to show up for a live on that fateful eve of the 28th March.

You know, to announce the CK ambassadorship.

But then that could have waited a day, like after the actual company announces it.

Perhaps the CK thing was a good excuse. I mean, given the fact that he had a live for over an hour and a half and spoke about CK for about 5 minutes of it...

So yeah, JK came live and practically the full hour and a half was about JM, with a few minutes to whisper “Calvin Klein” and say he wouldn’t represent a brand he wouldn’t buy himself (do we hear a tiny little poke at a certain someone else here people?  You tell me).

I saw tons of posts about the live.  But I preferred to wait for the official translations, makes for a better viewing, not to mention better perspective – seeing the expressions when the words are being said is almost everything. 

Before I start talking about what was said and done in the live, let’s bring up once more the one thing that would have been a given to be talked about under the circumstances, but all we got about it was deafening silence.

Letter.

The song that JK was clearly oh so excited about that he had to give us a cute little spoiler to with his guitar all pre-prepared playing us the tune (which he had to learn especially as he did the backup voice not the guitar playing -  that was JM).

The one song that JK took part in on JM’s solo so exciting new album.

The  one song that was created ‘for army’, same army that JK has written several songs for in the past, same army JK loves oh so much, same army that thinking about them at times brings him to tears, same army that he was sitting with him right there doing his live for. 

The song that JM said in his Face live, one way or another (waiting to watch that one subbed and see the exact words he used) that was for Army (again, without playing it for army that are watching him do the live), and moving on, once again, without a single word about JK’s oh so loud involvement in this song.  On an album that is personal to him, in a song that is his supposed letter to army. 

Yeah.

That song and that JK and that army.

Not a single word about it from JK.

Not him bringing it up himself, nor him talking about it, mentioning anything about it, including when JM was speeding by the subject on Suchwita. 

You’d think he’d be piping up oh so proudly at that point saying “yeah, the song I helped JM hyung made for army” or something of that sort.  We’ve seen him do it many a times before. 

Nope. No piping up this time.

As a matter of fact, not a peep from him about that song nor it's meaning nor his involvement.

I wonder why?

NOT

I really don’t.

I know exactly why.

And you do too.

JK turns on the live 28.3.2023 at 2:53 am.

He asks what did he come to do today?  He came to watch JM on Suchwita with us. So, clear plan for the live this time.

He talks about starting to work again, working hard trying to find his own sound (me making happy sounds), using a straw because he’s been having trouble with his voice.  So, he’s doing exercises for his vocal cords with a straw, something he saw in videos, including seeing Sam Smith do the same.  He asks if it’s because of alcohol.  Ahm…JK… maybe it's that other thing you're suspected of doing that might be affecting your voice?

Please don't come at me, but maybe, just maybe, he has been doing that one thing that's not too good for his health, and maybe his voice either. And maybe, just maybe, the straws, in mouth constantly is for his vocal cords, but also a way to stop partaking in said habit...

He asks if it’s because of the alcohol, and then turns around to say he bought the straws because of his voice but it’s perfect for highball.  Lmao.

Ok, we are done with the straw explanations and we are all ready to start the actual live, lol.

He starts with a song he says he came across recently -  a cover Haize did of Still with you that came out a few days prior to the live. 

There is a reason behind everything JK does in these lives. The choice of song here, it has a meaning, it's not random.

So, we start a live that as we all know ends up to be all about JM with a song that we mostly believe to be related to their relationship. 

JK talks about Haize and hearing her in a radio interview saying she did the cover because this was the type of song she wanted to write for her fans.  Do I remind you that this is supposedly a fan song?  Do we all believe it’s just a fan song?

Interesting choice for JK to start the obviously JM heavy live with a song he wrote that we believe to be a Jikook song, a song about JK and JM but that army was given ownership over.

Do I have to remind that JK came straight out and said this song was written for army?

JK was way clearer than JM on this, no vagueness, no beating around the bush, writing this as a gift for Festa:

“I feel good because I was able to tell fans how much I loved them.”

And yet, Jikookers studying the song, the lyrics, in the context of Jikook and the rainy day fight, which JK himself brought up during that Festa, clearly felt this song was about those two. One of those songs, just like we feel Magic shop is, that army are told is for them, about them, but really has nothing to do with them. It might be a gift for army, a beautiful song as such, but it wasn't written about them, while coming from deeper, more private and personal feelings.

But did you see what JK did there?

He goes and writes a song about the rainy day fight, 'for army', 'about his love for army', a fight we would never have known about if not for him telling us about it during that very same Festa.

That shrewd little bugger (yes, I'm allowing myself to call him that), wanted those who know to know exactly what that song was about.

Kind of like Letter, don't you think?

We would never have known JM's initial lyrics and his use of dangshin if not for adding JM's journal to the album, for example.

I know I'm digressing here, but I just don't understand why it was so easy to take JK's story about Still with you with a grain of salt, side-eyeing it, attributing the song to Jikook with ease, all while with Letter it's all "if JM said it's for army then it must be..."

It just baffles me.

Moving on.

Before starting the main event JK gives us a couple of minutes talking about CK, that the video went up, smiling shyly, lol.  “if you look you can see that I only have CK underwear…you can see the sincerity”. – He talks about the difference between doing the advertising work with the group (company decision more or less) to doing it for himself, which is his decision, and he decided to do something he really likes, something he would really purchase with his own money.  He really loves CK.

“I can show you that my underwear is CK…but it’s kind of weird to show you.” 

Lmao.

A true ambassador he is.  Telling us he loves the clothes.  That he’s going to wear them often. 

He is really something else, lol.

Talking about how lately he threw out all his colourful clothes and wearing only black (well, we knew he was going through somewhat of an emo period), but he’s going to wear the CK denim now, lol.

That line of denim – I'm telling you, it's gonna be sold out in no time.  You just wait and see.

He laughs a bit about how embarrassed and shy he’ll be with the video, and he giggles saying “I think you’ll really like it.”

A-ha JK. You knew. Lol.

He goes on a little bit more about how he enjoyed shooting the clip, how he couldn’t eat during that period and how he really loves that brand, but then switches, says enough talk about that (not in those words) and gets back on track.  You know, for the actual reason he came live : “we need to watch Suchwita”.

14:08 more or less.  He’s looking to put on Suchwita.  Humming Jimin…,

then asking why doesn’t Jimin come up right away?

At first he can’t find it and he’s baffled by it, continues to look for it, actually kind of upset..

He finds it at last: “it did come out. Scared me.” Smile on face. 

Smiley happy.

The way his features soften when JM is talking.  Every single time JM is talking. 

JK said, I want to say promised lol, to tell us the truth about the dumpling fight, how serious it was, “scary” in his words.

JK stops Suchwita to tell us how much he likes Set me free pt. 2.  “it’s so my style.  He did such a good job.”  He also said how he likes the second part, we kind of see it later on as well.

So, we're back with Letter. Suga and JM are talking about the song.  Serendipity is playing in the background.  JK is smirking and humming/singing to Serendipity.  No stopping the clip like he did to tell us about SMF pt. 2.  No blink, no word, no humming or singing or bringing out the guitar to play Letter.  NOTHING.     

I can’t really tell if he’s upset, and maybe he isn’t.  It’s kind of a given that this would have to be passed off as a song for army.  An intimate love song they sing together, at the moment cannot be passed up as just that… A price to pay, I guess.  One they both understand ever so well.

I said this once and I’m going to say this again.  If Letter is indeed JM’s gift to army, a gift he is dedicating to army on his first solo album, didn’t he kind of move past it super quick?  All with Serendipity playing in the background (why not Letter, the actual song ‘for army’?).  And the body language.  Oh JM, how hard it is for you to lie you poor baby.  Well, you aren’t, not per say.  Because the whole thing was set up that way, wasn’t it?  The timing of the song on the album, the little references here and there, the PERFECT disguise.  So kind of what these two do all the time, what JK did with Still with you. Omitting and sharing half truths or little wittle tiny white lies once in a while (JK’s “I go to his room cause he’s the nearest to me”).  I was going to write “they kind of have to”, but there is no “kind of…” in this.  They have to.  Period. 

And yet they find their ways...

I mean, JM’s album, phew, the queer coding, the clear clues in the lyrics, in his Playlist video, WOW.  Just WOW.  And then he sits with Suga and is asked about the songs and he says outright that some of it is too much to share.  He’s sharing.  He’s giving us clues.  Those who are meant to understand do and will. Those that don’t understand probably weren’t meant to.

In any case, as per usual, the second you put me in front of a keyboard I start spewing shit.  This is not a post about a one Mr. Park Jimin. 

Or is it?

Because well, this is a post about JKs live.  The one he came to do after he told his boyfie that he missed him too (come on now, we all know it wasn’t us he is missing). 

But

Let’s do the math a minute. We do love our math, right?

If someone does a live but the whole live is centered around someone else, who is the post really about?

LMAO.

JK comments about JM’s hot food.  I guess that’s what happens when JK isn’t around to foo foo his food for him…

He listens attentively, he nods in agreement to what JM says. 

He giggles when JM’s giggling, with that look he gets, you know, that JM look.

He seems a little more serious, stoic, when it comes to Like crazy and the other songs on the album (other than Set me free pt. 2 that is).  I have a little theory about it. 

We are talking about the person closest to JM, his life partner, the person that spent the most time with JM during that 'darker' period the album is about. He knows what JM was going through.  He was there by his side when JM was struggling.  These songs, in a way, they might serve as a reminder of those difficult times.  As happy as he is for JM and as proud as he is of him, it might be hard for him to have this reminder.

Anyway, JM giggles, JK grins.

He finishes up with Suchwita and starts saying something about the way JM thinks but doesn't finish his trail of thought, noticing that he hasn’t really talked to the viewers during the whole episode – “I tend not to talk when I focus” (again, our neuro divergent prince). 

Yes, he was quite focused. 

As he continues to be throughout the live when JM’s on screen.

Next on the agenda, according to JK, was to play a song and “end now”.

Didn't really happen that way though.

Love songs, eh?  Interesting…  Only thing missing was Letter.  But wait, he already played Letter on the guitar for us …

He comes back from the toilet (yes, he went for a wee, I assume), says he’ll end the live when he finishes his last shot.  Interacts a little with the comments, like reads maybe 3 and answers them, and back to sitting backwards on the couch and just listening to the song playing.  He’s not in the mindset of interacting with the comments.  That’s not what he’s there for.

6 songs  in (a couple not listened to till the end),  a couple of more comments read, intermission over and back to the JM show.

So, it seems, so he says, he’s curious about the lyrics of Set me free pt. 2.  And we’re off to watch the MV.  From his reaction at the end it’s pretty clear it’s not all the lyrics he doesn’t know, but more a specific word he wasn’t sure about – Maze.

He does know some of the lyrics already and part of the choreo too.

In that second part of the song he silences up.  Lyrics be damned.  I guess JM bare chest was something needed to be focused on. He’s literally mesmerized.  He did say he likes that part of the song…

Joke aside, I feel that the lyrics in the second half are more meaningful to him. We also notice that later on when he is watching the dance practice clip.

JK's scrolling and starts a video, JM centered video (members teasing JM), which he leaves on to watch.  Enthralled.  Enamored at parts. Giggly. Fully focused.  Again, barely talking to us.  And even when he talks it feels at times to be more to himself than to us.

Clip ends, he tells people to watch and stop sending comments, lol (I can’t help but wonder what comments were coming up at that point…and those that understand, well they will understand).

*Trigger disclaimer - this next paragraph can be a little triggering to some. If the subject of JK and alcohol is not something you want to talk about or here, move on to the next paragraph.

He brings up the question of alcohol again.  This is not the first time he talks about it.  Asking himself why he poured himself this last drink and is he addicted.  I don’t know JK. Well, not enough to say either way for sure.  But I do know that he’s an active functioning, now working again young man.  No, I don’t think he’s addicted.  I think he does use alcohol as a crotch of sorts, perhaps like JM told us he was a while back.  JM busy, while he wasn’t for quite a while.  I touched on it in length in previous posts.  I'm not sure he himself realises what addiction, actual addiction, means when he says those words. He seems to be getting back on track, but it takes time, and the drink it’s filling a hole that still needs tending to, but I really don’t think it’s an addiction, nor something to worry about, and him even asking that, in a way, also shows me that it isn’t.  His awareness is key here.

JK goes back to watch the TV looking for Jimin again.  He tells us he saw Pixid and it’s cool.

Guys, he’s clearly been watching JM content. 

When you can’t have the real thing, you go for second best, I guess.

He watched the dance challenge for Like crazy, commenting/ complimenting JM’s a good dancer.

Notice once again how he's not watching Like crazy.

Then he puts on the dance practice for SMF pt. 2 once again.  And super focused once again.

This is when we see him smirk when JM sings the line (in the second part of the song):

Look at me now, I won't stop, even if they mock me

And after this JK joins in to the choreo…

He clearly loved that song.  He did tell us there is something amazing coming when the teaser was coming out.

At this point he puts on upbeat music (Up all night by Kehlani and JB), runs to the closet to take out a lollipop to suck on, saying he’s bored.  You know what him playing with that lollipop reminded me off?

That Jinjikook live, you know, with the lollipops and the hickey selfie.

Let’s understand for a second what song he has on: 

Up all night by Kelani and Justin Bieber. Ahm…

He rewinds the song a little and he’s sucking hard on that lollipop with the song playing : “I think about all the ways you turn me on. And my bed gets lonely whenever you're gonе…”

And the man is sucking, real hard, all while these lyrics are playing:

He has to go work on his stuff (ahm… what stuff exactly I don’t know…perhaps the stuff the song was going on about), takes the last sip of his drink bids us goodbye, as he suddenly wants to go work, says he needs to do something and end of live.  There was real urgency there.

Hey, get out of that dirty mind of yours.

He could have just felt inspired by JB’s beautiful vocals singing about the ways she turns him on and how he fantasizes about her (whoever she was, that doesn’t really matter, cause we know exactly who Mr. Jeon there is turned on by and who he misses and fantasizes about)…

JM commented about JK’s live on Weverse and again later during his pre-recording on that day.

And yet, he didn’t show on the live itself, comment during the live.  Not one word. 

Come to think of it, no one did (they could have been asleep, but they could have also just known when to keep away, lol).

JM is awake and watching. But he’s not commenting.

Only to leave a comment on Weverse that it was cute - letting both us and JK know he saw it.

And if I’m already talking about JM enjoying the view, well I guess I should also share my thoughts about JK’s live. 

You see, in my eyes Jungkook, he’s da man.

The man that told us he wrote us a song, all while making sure we know it's not actually for us.

He knows.  He knows us Jikookers have hundreds of clips with JK looking googly eyed at JM.

Do I talk about Karmy having a good laugh about JK’s YT algorithm?  How random it was for an unknown JM centered clip to just show up on his recommended?  Unknown channel.  How this clip showing up kind of means our man spends time watching clips with JM, probably Jikook too?

Anyways, man knows we see him.

Since 2020-21 he even tried to control himself more in professional surroundings, sometimes it worked sometimes it didn’t.

So, he places the camera sits back and just lets us watch him react to seeing JM, JM interactions with the members, JM interactions with himself, JM talking, JM singing, JM dancing.

You think he didn’t know what we would see????

Man is far from dumb.

And yet, he decided to do exactly that – let us see THAT.

I had this one open on my laptop, I was sure I posted this, but hadn't (?), and good thing I hadn't yet.

Because since I put this together I came by @minggukieology 's post. I think that she explains just how important the wording here is and just how intimate JM's words in this draft were.

This part especially hits hard:

As we've all seen today once more (with the Face playlist) JM is very very calculated in the sense that he puts thought into everything he expresses artistically. Like Philip Johnson's piece was not there by mistake or randomly placed, so was his use of that word in that context.

The one and only...

Kind of hard for me to get that one out of my head.

But he didn't use those words in the final lyrics because of just how obvious it would be.

K-JKKs are not conflicted here. They don't see this as a letter to army at all.

Knowing language and cultural context is super important. It's also important to understand said context and not utilize it half way to suit a certain theory or narrative you want to put in place.

The name of the song is Letter, not Letters.

Addressed to either Army or JK, can't have it both ways. Either or.

And if we are listening to Karmy, why listen half way? Listen to them all the way.

They know who this letter is addressed to.

They said it perfectly:

It's a letter for JK (a hidden song for a hidden couple), hence JK joining JM in the song too, but it's disguised as a song for Army.

Plausible deniability.

Or has it been such a long time since we've had JM and JK in one frame that we forgot about that one. You know, even when stretching the boundaries doing it in a way that can always allow falling back on a more or less plausible explanation or excuse.

JM is the mastermind in knowing just how far to stretch the boundaries. And with Face and Letter he's stretched them real real far, like rubber band can snap in a second far. Funny how still such a big part of the fandom are unwilling to see his message, his queer coding. At this point I think that even if that rubber band tears/breaks I-army will be standing there holding on to both ends to make sure it doesn't fall apart.

JM and JK are lovers.

JM and JK are intimate.

JM and JK are and have been in a long term love/romantic relationship for years now. In my books, for over 7 years now.

I kind of don't understand those that are unwilling to accept that. Take that extra step from "great friends" to life partners, at this stage.

"Great friends", as close as they may be, don't suck on each other's ears, don't give each other hickey's, don't tattoo the other's name on their hand (if a friend does that, well they need to look real deep inside themselves and understand that it's way more than friendship they are feeling). There are so many other behaviours we see with these two, towards each other and towards others that are clear proof they are not just "great friends". Why is it so hard for some to take that leap? Is it the fear of labeling? These two can't say it out loud. They just can't. Closeted queer couple in SK. Two mega stars months away from enlisting into military service. But with that they have sent us every single possible clue telling us they are queer and a couple. They want those that will accept and support them to see THEM.

Guys, what was TTU Seoul 2019 all about if not their defiance and telling us they are together and want us to love them, accept them?

I digress, I know.

Point being, they are together, a couple, for years, and Letter, it's JM's song for JK, you know, the one he told us in 2016 that he would write to the person he loved. His forever person.

Is letter a song for army?

I know it's been talked about and chewed over and over already, but I want to put in my two cents as well.

Shall I start with the bottom line? Give you my clear answer and then if you want to you will read on, and if you don't you can move on?

My clear answer is:

NO !!

Will it be passed as a song for army?

Hell yeah.

I will sum this up in a couple of paragraphs, I hope.

This is a love song.

A letter, as the name describes it.

JM writing or perhaps reading the letter he wrote pertaining to his thoughts and feelings towards a very special someone in his life.

Reading it out loud, for an audience of one.

The one that towards the end of the song joins in with JM, in a sense replying to him, affirming or reenforcing JM's words, at times feels like he's agreeing with them.

This is JM voicing his feelings towards JK and the choice to add JK to the song is to make a exactly that point. That this is about JK and me (JM), a conversation he's having with JK, one he's/they are letting us in on.

A clearly very intimate moment they are having, but at the same time sharing with us. One of those "we clearly shouldn't be here" third wheeling moments for us.

I have no doubt that this will be sold as a song for army. And it's ok, JM is clever that way. It also isn't the first time we've been told a song is for Army, and we knew better.

The lyrics can be fitting, they can (to I-army that don't have an understanding of Korean language or culture). Well somewhat. Because if you stop to read properly, dive just a little deeper, there is a sense of intimacy there that really does not befit a song for army (even without knowing the Korean side of things).

Yes JM loves army, but heck, he knows how to keep a proper distance from them (way more than JK does, and even he told us in famous Feb live that there need to be boundaries). There is a level of intimacy in this song that is just way beyond. There is imagery of physical contact. There is usage of language that he just wouldn't use with army, as much as he might love them.

Yes, there are lyrics that can definitely be read as a cute song for army, and once again, I believe this was done on purpose, given that indeed we are talking here about a closeted couple.

If you listen to K-army they KNOW. They have a grasp of the language, the nuances. We see intimacy in the words, they see even more than that. They see use of formal and informal language that would not be used in a song for army. They see JM's original notes, god his original notes, and understand them.

For example:

JM used the term dangsin. Translated into you, but not really. Because this is a term used with someone you are highly intimate with, a term used between couples. It's a term that implies intimacy. But he changed the lyrics. JM changed those lyrics because they were too obvious.

There are other clues in the original lyrics that JM chose to share with us that point outright to the fact this is about his feelings for JK, that this song is an intimate love song.

Who is the person JM turns to repeatedly, the person he has said out loud time and time again that will defend him, take care of him, protect him?

JM's album is riddled with queer coding, this song is an effing love song to another man, but at the same time there are checks and balances in the mix, all those little things to weigh it out, allow those that clearly have issues with them being queer to continue living in their fantasy worlds.

I will give you another example: the She in Like crazy.

Yes, it's possible that JM decided to change his own original lyrics from baby to she. It's also possible that this was one of those 'defence mechanisms' put into place to balance out the queer coding in the album. Yes BH artists are given leeway, but be assured that it's not a "do what you want" card. Songs were/are censored. Including hyung line songs, if seen to be too edgy, or too risky, something the fans or public are not yet ready to deal with. In this case, the "she", I cannot tell you this was the case with JM, or if he did his own censorship or if he decided to switch to she because the she represented his feminine side or that the she was imposed on him and the concept of the choreo grew from that and wasn't the original idea. Any of the above are possible.

JM sharing those original lyrics he wrote with us is him telling those that want to hear, those that will understand, exactly what his true intentions were. All while those that don't understand or are unwilling to hear can stick to the 'song for army' narrative. He knows, JK knows, and those that love and support them know. That is what's important.

I was having a discussion with a follower earlier and I told them, this all feels like a little foreshadowing. JM's album, Letter, perhaps JK's music if we get to hear it before MS, a clear hint to something way bigger that will come our way once they're done with the military service.

And when that day comes, all those outright idiots that not only cannot read the signs right in front of their faces, but argue and throw dirt at those that can, at JM and JK, well, it's gonna hit them real hard.

I digress. Back to Letter.

I mentioned JM using intimate language. Words he just does not use with Army (and again, he wouldn't, as they blur the invisible line between idol and fan, a line that he has marked in the sand very clearly I'd say since around 2019), words that did make it to the final cut, like baby.

Baby is intimate. Baby is just not a word JM would call army and never has in the past.

You know who he does call baby on a pretty much regular basis, and it also kind of slips out even with cameras around at times (ahm...they kind of call each other that)?

One guess.

And just lately again.

That "MY shrimp..." translation was hilarious, and also another example as how the automatic translators have a problem translating certain words or expressions. Also, the way BH ran to use that comment as a basis for the JK Qatar post replacing the baby for army... now with Letter out it makes even more sense them trying to dilute it's true meaning.

I feel like I might be all over the place here, but I guess you guys will have to bare with me on this. It's HUGE. Letter is HUGE. Some don't seem to understand just how huge.

Let's reverse a little, because I did speak about JK being there, answering/reacting/mirroring/confirming JM's feelings towards him. And this is my next point as to why this is a love letter, JM conveying his emotions towards a certain person, not Army.

JK could have easily not have been there.

I listened to this song so so many times already.

JM could have conveyed all his feelings for 'army' without asking JK to join him towards the end of the song with vocals he could have done oh so well for himself. But you see, JK needed to be there.

Because it's a dialogue.

JM talking, and at some point JK answering.

Add the calmness of the song. The use of the guitar, no big band, no loud musical background. It all adds to that feeling of just JM and JK sitting there on the beach, waves heard in the background, JM guitar in hand and he's telling the love of his life, singing to him, that they are together forever, no matter what.

And then you also have JM telling us how no other members took part in the creation of this album, this journey of his, it being a personal journey. Funny how JK found his way into this personal journey. Unless, wait a second, JK is part of this specific journey maybe?

I'm going to say this once again, this is something I've been saying practically ever since I opened this little corner in the world called my Jikook blog. They want out. Out of the closet. Out of the silence. JK wants to say JM's his and vise versa. They want to be free to celebrate their love freely, openly. But they can't. Not with the industry they're in, not with the society their in, not with MS around the corner, and damn, not with their own fandom.

Not yet.

Over the years we've had the pushing of boundaries, pushing pulling back, that constant movement. 2022 was weird. Things were happening, to them personally, changes with the company, changes within their band, that had them disappear more or less. I kept saying that not seeing them does not mean they aren't still the same jikook, and every single time we got to see them it was clearly evident.

Why the long ass story? Well, to come to the long ass point I guess, which is, that with this album JM is pushing again, and it's a big one. It's him on a personal level telling people who he is (it started with his folio and blowing up with this album, and the artistic choices for his MV and performances).

But Letter...

I'm going to go so far as to say Letter is JM's GCFT.

There.

I said it.

And having JK there in the song, is as if we had JM there on video watching GCFT and reacting to it.

The way JM set Letter up, the lyrics, JK's part, his entrance, it's all about his feelings towards JK and their forever.

And if we didn't think this was loud, well dear Mr. Jeon came in our faces hours before it landed to show us his 1 lesson in guitar playing being the song JM sang, to him, with him.

Peeps, open your ears and eyes here.

These men are telling us something.

Together.

And it ain't "we love army".

Well, not this time.

Not really.

JM will say he is, and he does love army, but this isn't about army. Disguised as...sure, I accept that. But actually being about...nah.

Why the hidden song?

Surprise for army you say?

Once again, definitely perfect reasoning.

Only that if Letter was surprise for army, how does it land only on the physical discs. Is JM now discriminating between armys that bought the discs and those that bought digital? Or those that listen on streaming services? Food for thought.

It wasn't promoted, it was kept secret, yes again the surprise element pops up. But you see, what would have happened if this song was out there all in the open before the album came out?

Let's all be honest here shall we?

Mahem. Chaos.

That's what would have happened.

Do I have to explain why? No, I'm not going to. You know exactly why. And it would have overshadowed everything that JM worked for. Because some of this fandom is shit.

So yeah, surprise, sure, hella good reason.

So why hidden?

Because of the Jikook connection.

Not to mention the symbolism of it all.

Hidden track, hidden lyrics, hidden couple.

Shall I conclude as I started?

Letter isn't for army, not really.

K-army recognize it and anyone who takes the time to read the lyrics, listen to the song, dig a little deeper than what they are told, can see it.

Letter is JM conveying his feelings for JK to JK.

An intimate Love letter/song. One that turns into a dialogue with the person he wrote those words for. JK.

Jungkook 3 (or 4) Wlives on 14 March 2023

A Jikook filled event, with and without JM even being there (physically or virtually).

Let's talk about JK, the non conformist, the rebel with a cause, who decided to give us a 3 part date on White day.

And yes, I'm 100% sure most army believe he was on a date with them. Question, my friends, is which 'army' that was exactly...

One thing for sure, JK showed up on white day, and right through all three lives, scratch that, all 4 lives, he weaved in JM. JM, their relationship, was inserted into every single one of those lives, one way or another.

A significant day for couples in SK (Japan and China as well). The loved one that received the gift on Valentine's day is on the giving side on White day.

We also know they went out to a restaurant with friends, a restaurant they used to frequent and ever since the photo of them there leaked they stopped visiting.

Oh, and yes, lest forget JK's cover to Only then was gifted to 'army' on White day 2018.

Yeah, this wasn't a song for army, unless it was JM 'army', that is.

So, white day is meaningful to couples and is meaningful to JM and JK as well.

I know that there are many that don't believe in the Jikook number theories. Think it is a coincidence. Think that 8 November has no significance to them and that they don't seem to conveniently keep coincidently mentioning these numbers or seemingly mention numbers that have to do with said date. All a coincidence.

So, my friends, let's talk about the 8/11 coincidences during these three lives, why don't we?

So yeah, did he do the 8:11 again???

Now, although there could be discussion, legitimately, about the second and third lives and the 8/11 - you either believe they do the math or you don't - but there can be no discussion as to the first live. Nope. Spin it around as much as you will, the numbers still land on 8/11, no surprise what so ever.

We get the black and white combo sweatshirt (jersey).

Were we symbolising the black and white couple?

All I'm saying is that it's an interesting choice.

Live 2

Wearing the white airy loose fitting collared button up shirt. White day obviously comes to mind.

White shirt black pants. Again the black and white.

What also comes to mind is his JM birthday message to JM way back in 2022. Same vibe.

The playing with the hair, the showing of the tattoos, the glasses at one point. Couldn't help but think of that JK created clip. Especially after JK tells us he could actually see properly and only brought the glasses because he thought he'd look good in them, lol.

Live 3

Purple jacket (nothing underneath, ahm...) and white beanie, for the winter, ski lodge, vibe.

Purple a colour we know they both revert to many times. It's army, it's JK and JM (purple and yellow).

And the white, well white day again?

Looks like that showed up for us in the first 2 lives (third one he was all covered up, so no telling if he still had it on).

It's a little hard to tell if it's the same chain. Especially because it's a plain silver chain with no pendant. But it definitely looks similar. 🤷‍♀️

Timing, outfits, accessories, all good and well, just more brush strokes to that big ass neon coloured sign JK was painting for us telling us this was no coincidence. The lives on white day, a date with 'army' when 'army' was far far away.

But if those were the brush strokes to the sign, where is the sign itself, you ask.

So what else did JK do? Say? Play? Show?

First, let me mention that JK knit picked his playlist in this live. He was sitting there just passing song after song choosing the songs he wanted to listen to, was in the mood to listen to (within a playlist he had already going).

JK, out of no where says there's a song he never sang for us live, and goes looking for this song (it didn't come up on his playlist, he went looking for it).

It felt to me like JK doesn't frequently listen to this song. It's not on his playlist, he didn't know the lyrics (unlike other songs he did know the lyrics to).

Remember this cover of his?

You know, the one he posted when JM just got released from hospital Feb 2022. Same cover that he timed at 1:18 min.

Felt it was an interesting choice of song, given it just come up on his playlist, nor seemingly, is it one he listens to too much (the second part is my conclusion).

Live 3

Falling

Singing Falling, knowing the lyrics kind of proves my previous point. A song listened to a lot as opposed to one that probably isn't but suited a point JK wanted to make or suited a mood JK was in at the time.

This is a song liked by JM and JK, we got to hear JM singing it during Festa 2020.

Anyway, JK released this song on the 4th anniversary of his and JM's trip to Tokyo.

Another coincidence? I don't think so.

Well, obviously we got JK mentioning JM in the first live when There for you came up.

In live 2 JM actually shows up. And JK finds the need to explain to him about how this is part two and how he changed outfits for this part, lol.

Nice use of honorifics there JK.

Well, not at first. He rectifies it by opening the next sentence with hyung, lol.

First instance JK rectified. But when JK thought JM left the live he got all commando on him, this time leaving the honorifics behind completely, calling him to come back.

Foreshadowing?

Fly away butterfly.

Live 4

Let's talk about live 4. Because JK wasn't going to come back for another part 4. Given, he ended part 3 while crying (yes, he was crying) and I'm assuming forgot to convey the message he wanted to and for which he came back with live 4, which was around 5 minutes long.

In live 4 he tells us he wanted to say goodbye properly. It's not that he didn't say goodbye at the end of part 3. Just saying.

He continues to say that he wants us to be happy. Be happy even if they aren't there. The translation here is a little different on Weverse than it was from the translation accounts. Weverse translation being happy even if they aren't "here", while the accounts were translating it as be happy "even without us". Kind of rings differently.

Him bringing it up then and there made me think that perhaps that's what was one of the things on his mind when he was pensive prior to the tears forming in live 3.

Anyways, JK came back to also (or perhaps to mainly) convey another message:

So yeah, JK telling us to look forward to midnight, something amazing is coming, "please look forward to that".

He meant this amazing thing, btw:

Hyping up the boyfie.

All while knowing what's coming is truly amazing.

The tears

Fake tears, not the real ones that came at the end.

Pause for a second, I'm over here ugly crying a little.

Throughout the 3 lives JK makes use of those fake tears.

Funny story he tells us, that he actually bought a whole lot of them for Bam, who was having issues with his eyes. Laughing at how similar the two are, eye problems, skin problems...

It does look like he's having issues with dry eyes.

But, when seeing it, every single time he pulled out those eye drops, I couldn't help but think about this:

Lol, even more so in the second live.

Showing us the hand tatts.

Ok, so this, to me, is a big one, and as usual kind of overlooked.

As opposed to many that think so, I really really don't think this was about showing us his ARMY tattoo, or being proud of his ARMY tattoo.

Why don't I think it's the army tattoo he's showing us?

Maybe because of everything going on? Maybe because he told us he wasn't too happy with the army tattoo itself.

Maybe because he picks the song, Golden hour by JVKE (when showing us the hand).

Maybe because he sits and listens to it, lingering on.

Maybe because he plays around with the candle, placing it just in the right place to showcase the tattoos he was planning to show us and when he was done he pulls it back towards himself.

Maybe because he clearly knew the song, and the lyrics as well.

Maybe because of how he timed it, showing us the tattoos at the exact timing that he did.

Maybe because of the way he showed them to us, the way he wiggled his fingers.

And maybe, just maybe because just as he finished showing us those tattoos, the JM clearly darker and thicker than the other letters, he also sang specific lyrics from the song he knew, complimenting showing us the tattoos with:

"... the love of my life..."

humming the continuation, omitting the lyrics which are female directed.

Maybe.

It is no coincidence JM used that same Lie choreography in this clip. There rarely are coincidences when it comes to the decisions JM makes in his art or in what he chooses to convey to us.

Is he finally going to be free of the lie? Or perhaps the lies that weighed on him in the past but that also weigh on him in the present.
