"Children shouldn't be online at thirteen or younger" is stupid for a number of reasons but I know firsthand one of those reasons being that the internet was the only facet of my life I could turn to when my life promptly devolved into hell in my teenage years. If I hadn't come on here and developed these friendships and gained spaces I was comfortable in beforehand there's a good chance I wouldn't even still be here.

I get there are dangers in being a child on the internet, but there are ways around this. There is a reason internet etiquette for children existed. Never say your real age or even an age at all, etc etc. Pedos? You're ignoring the main problems if you think keeping children off the internet is the best and safest way to deal with that. It's frankly exhausting to see the general internet public just treat children as property to be commanded around. Disgusting.
