Most of the time when people tell me they have goals - they really have aspirations. It takes physical and mental work to translate those wishes and feelings of what you want into goals that align with those feelings and dreams.

Imagine you are you... you want to dig into something... you have briefly review what you know now and figure out what you want to learn. Then you have to dig in and create your own next steps. Then you have to actually do them. And when you are done you have to review what you did and decide how you’ll do it differently, where you went wrong, what went right. Then you need to recover for a while and do it all again. This is #selfdirectedlearning and it’s very different than being told what to do.

This was my process last year. I edited it from my process the year before that. This year I’m simplifying it. The point is - I have a process to edit. What’s your process? . . . #lifecoach #goalsetters #habits #successroutines #worksmart

Don’t try to find balance. Find your priorities and if your priorities aren’t serving you - change them. Balanced people don’t do great things, create deep relationships, and change the world around them. #success

#meta comes from the word metakey. A function on a keyboard where you need to hold down two keys simultaneously. . It’s also come to mean seeing something from a deeper perspective or holding two perspectives at once. . It’s like being #selfaware

Am I buffering? . I ask myself this question almost every day, especially when I’m working on something new. . Am I thinking about doing something or am I seeking practical productive problems that I can solve and take action on to help me build success momentum? . I’ve recognized that there are two cycles that I can get caught in... A vicious cycle of repetition, rumination, and review where I expend so much energy I can almost trick myself into believing I thinking productively... or . My thinking moves toward a practice productive problem that I can take action on. I call this my virtuous cycle. I love this cycle. The more time I spend in this cycle the more I notice how much energy I’ve wasted in the vicious cycle of repetition, rumination, and review. . Maybe this is small imperfect action, or maybe this is an example of #mentalhealth or maybe this is me learning about my creative process. Whatever it is it’s a #habit that I want to practice as a skill @theunstuckschool

Don’t you wish you could skip a step? Does it sometime seem like everyone else stumbles on their idea or team or perfect match? Sure it can happen and it might but there just isn’t any shortcut for taking it one year at a time and creating a process of reflection, action, and review.
