𝐌𝐎𝐕𝐈𝐍𝐆 𝐁𝐋𝐎𝐆𝐒

if you’d like to continue being mutuals please like this and i’ll make sure to follow you once i move my blogs at some point during this week.

HOWEVER i want to be comfortable on my dash again, and the only way i can become comfortable is to know that people actually follow me because they want to interact, preferably both in character and out of character ( if you’re only interested in in character interactions please let me know and i’ll refrain from interacting out of character unless it’s specifics to a plot or something else. i completely understand social anxiety makes it difficult for some to just write out of character. but to protect myself and essentially you too , i’d prefer to know if i can come to you at random hours and just talk whether it being related to plots/dynamics or just us getting to know each other ). i just cannot go on feeling like i’m just a number on a following list. so i’m doing this for my own mental health.

bag  slung  across  her  shoulder  .  keeping  it  out  of  erin’s  reach  .  by  some  luck  she  had  come  across  a  handful  of  chocolate  bars  .  leia  could  not  remember  the  last  time  chocolate  had  melted  on  her  tongue  ,  so  she  selfishly  wanted  to  keep  it  for  herself  .

        ❝  nothing  .  i’m  not  hiding  anything  !  ❞

at her explosion of emotions, jack takes a step back, eyes widening in shock.  he had no idea leia had been in such pain.  she was always with luke, they seemed to have a nice life.  he couldn’t have imagined it was the opposite based on what he saw.  but, given the fact that he had a best friend with similar circumstances, his heart fills with dread.  for a moment though, there’s a sense of his own frustration.  he hadn’t left her to rot, he hadn’t left her at all.  she couldn’t put that on him.   “leia,”   jack starts, moving closer again.   “i didn’t know you felt unlikable in the same way you didn’t know i had a crush on you…”   his words are delicate, handling her with the care he recognizes she needs right now.   “you had luke, and honestly, you both seemed like you didn’t want to interact with most of us. it’s what scared me off.”

he’d been a shy boy;  unsure of himself and how to make friends with the same ease that he saw other children have.  they were similar in that way.   “and you’re right. maybe a part of me does a have a death wish, or whatever you’d call just wanting to be there for people. you included.”   his gaze looks around, wondering how many people had heard leia’s outburst.   “i get being afraid to lose people after your brother. i can’t imagine what that feels like and i’m sorry you’re going through it. but i don’t plan on going anywhere and i didn’t want to sit in the sky while the rest of you fought for your lives.”   he holds himself, afraid to reach for her.   “i’m sorry i wasn’t there for you then, but i can be now. if you’ll let me. i can’t make that choice for you and i won’t ask you to. adding any amount of pain to your life isn’t something i want to do.”

her  outburst  was  inevitable  ,  for  too  long  emotions  had  been  bottling  up  .  he  is  the  poor  soul  who  accidentally  pulled  the  wrong  lever  ,  and  now  the  dam  has  broken  .  her  words  are  spiteful  ,  cruel  to  their  very  core  .  part  of  her  wants  to  hurt  him  enough  so  he  sees  that  a  friendship  between  them  is  not  worth  pursuing  .  not  wanting  to  be  the  one  who  makes  the  decision  herself  .  it  is  selfish  .  but  he  continues  to  be  kind  ,  offers  her  a  shoulder  to  cry  on  .  become  her  friend  .          ❝  what  makes  you  think  i’d  want  to  interact  with  you  now  that  i’m  alone  ?  i’m  not  some  damsel  in  distress  who  needs  saving  .  ❞          she  spats  ,          ❝  especially  not  by  someone  who’ll  get  himself  killed  .  ❞          

peyton  had  been  an  exception  ,  their  suffering  similar  .  it  made  leia  trust  her  .  but  jack  had  been  loved  his  entire  life  ,  he  was  not  broken  like  the  rest  of  them  .  he  was  perfect  ,  and  she  was  far  from  perfect  .          ❝  you  may  not  plan  to  go  anywhere  ,  but  that  heart  of  yours  -  the  need  to  fix  anyone  who’s  broken  .  it  will  kill  you  ,  ”        she  brushes  away  the  angry  stream  of  tears  .            ❝  a  year  ago  things  would’ve  been  different  .  but  now  that  it’s  kill  or  be  killed  ,  i  cannot  afford  to  choose  someone  like  you  .  ❞

                              SHE’S      GOOD         .         very   good.   but   then   again,   he   expected   her   to   be.   in   fact,   he’d   been   fairly   disappointed   if   she         wasn’t      .   she         HAD         once   fought   beside   him,   after   all.   how   disappointing   would   it   be   to   learn   that   in   the   time   since,   she’d   lost   all   of   those   abilities?   not   that   he   intends   for         her         to   know   that,   though.   at   the   moment,   all   she   needs   to   worry   about   is   his   own   abilities,   and   oh   that   little   furrow   of   her   brow   as   she   discovers   he’s   not   simply   a   self-taught   swashbuckler   is         DELICIOUS      .   he   does   so   love   shocking   people.   

                              ❝      what’s   the   matter,   leia?   not   the   quick   win   you   were   hoping   for?      ❞   he   teases,   though   his   own   breath   is   turning   labored.   

doubt  starts  coursing  through  her  veins  ,  definitely  not  the  easy  win  she  had  anticipated  .  strikes  are  calculated  .  dodges  elegant  .  deceived  by  the  way  he  carries  himself  ,  always  having  assumed  he  was  son  of  a  noble  man  .  running  away  to  sea  to  escape  the  military  .  how  wrong  of  her  to  assume  such  nonsense  ,  and  now  she  pays  for  her  assumptions  .  sweat  on  her  brow  ,  muscle  tiring  as  they  continue  to  dance  around  one  another  .

          ❝  what  are  you  ?!  ❞          a  hypothetical  question  ,  human  of  course  .  but  this  side  of  him  is  unfamiliar  to  her  ,  yet  it  feels  familiar  .  she  should  have  won  by  now  .  she  strikes  once  more  ,  overlooking  the  splash  of  water  on  the  deck  .  feet  disappearing  beneath  her  ,  she  lands  on  the  deck  with  a  loud  thud  .  air  knocked  from  her  lungs  .  just  barely  she  manages  to  raise  her  blunted  sword  ,  elbows  resting  against  the  floor  .  the  dull  point  of  her  sword  resting  against  his  chest  ,  right  where  his  heart  is  .  but  it  is  not  a  win  ,  his  figure  hunched  over  hers  while  she  feels  the  cold  steel  of  his  blunt  blade  below  her  jaw  .            ❝  fuck  ,  ❞          she  mumbles  to  herself  ,  what  was  this  ?  a  tie  ?!  what  was  she  supposed  to  do  with  a  tie  .

Buck’s more exhausted than usual, thanks to the never-ending calls that the 118 had gotten today. With the bell going off at such frequent intervals, he’d barely been able to sneak in a cat nap here and there during his twenty-four-hour shift. Still, he doesn’t doze just yet, instead, he enjoys the feel of Leia in his arms, lips pressed to her neck as he breathes her in. “I’m okay,” Buck murmurs back, squeezing her hand with a sigh. “Few tough calls. Mostly just exhausted, though. Someone used the Q word.” He adds, releasing a soft huff. “Apparently, not everyone believes in curses.” If they didn’t before, they certainly do now. “What about you? Couldn’t sleep?”

soft  smile  tug  at  the  corners  of  her  mouth  .  had  leia’s  brother’s  not  worked  at  station  118  she  would  not  have  believed  that  the  word  quiet  would  cause  so  much  trouble  .  the  station  was  indeed  cursed  .  she  cannot  contain  the  chuckle  escaping  her  lips  .          ❝  i  hope  none  of  you  gave  them  a  hard  time  .  i  wouldn’t  have  believed  it  either  .  to  think  such  a  small  word  could  cause  this  much  trouble  .  ❞          

her  nightmares  were  no  secret  ,  she  shrugs  in  his  arms  .          ❝  nightmares  are  worse  than  normal  ,  guess  i  got  desperate  enough  for  a  good  night’s  sleep  .  so  now  i’m  here  .  ❞          she  draws  small  circles  on  the  back  of  his  hand  .          ❝  i  hope  you  don’t  mind  i  used  your  key  .  ❞

after  the  events  that  had  transpired  between  him  and  his  ex-fiancée,  riggs  had  vowed  never  to  allow  himself  to  get  closer  to  another  woman.  not  even  on  a  friendship  basis.  much  preferring  to  throw  himself  into  guardsman  business  head  first,  and  then  spending  his  time  ensuring  sage  was  safe  and  staying  out  of  trouble  like  he  had  promised  her  father  when  he  wasn’t  working.  so  upon  gaining  leia  as  a  partner  at  the  one  place  he  truly  had  to  be  able  to  focus  on  just  himself,  he  wasn’t  exactly  thrilled.  refusing  to  open  himself  up  and  often  giving  her  the  cold  shoulder  in  the  first  couple  of  months.  showing  up,  doing  exactly  what  he  had  to,  and  then  returning  to  his  quarters  without  being  interrupted.  but  as  time  went  on  and  the  months  passed,  the  more  the  blonde  began  to  grow  on  him.  somehow  becoming  a  figure  that  he  actually  cared  for.  even  more  so  as  the  group  of  delinquents  were  sent  off  to  the  ground  and  rumours  began  to  swirl  that  the  rest  of  the  ark  residents  would  be  following  in  near  times.  a  prospect  that  actually  frightened  him  more  than  he  would  ever  care  to  admit.

entering  the  guards’  meeting  room  to  be  greeted  by  leia,  just  as  they  had  agreed  to  at  the  end  of  their  rotation,  a  deep  exhale  escaped  from  his  lips.  all  tough  facades  and  brave  faces  that  he  had  been  putting  on  for  everyone  else  instantly  dropped  infront  of  her.    “  have  you  heard  what  they’re  planning  to  do?  about  the  ground  and  oxygen  levels  up  here  on  the  ark.  ”

grief  came  in  all  shapes  and  sizes  .  leia  knew  better  than  most  how  it  felt  to  lose  someone  important  ,  someone  you  loved  more  than  anything  .  the  cold  shoulder  and  overall  hostility  was  to  be  expected  ,  when  she  lost  luke  shortly  after  they  turn  eighteen  ,  she  had  been  a  mess  too  .  pushing  everyone  away  ,  self  isolating  and  yelling  at  people  if  they  came  too  close  .  at  least  riggs  had  not  yelled  at  her  ,  just  cold  and  distant  .  so  she  had  given  him  space  ,  waited  for  him  to  be  ready  to  let  her  in  ,  tiny  baby  steps  had  been  taken  .  slowly  but  surely  he  had  opened  up  to  her  ,  no  longer  sporting  a  constant  scowl  whenever  she  was  near  .  the  rumours  had  everyone  on  high  alert  ,  fights  between  citizens  broke  out  more  regularly  than  before  the  delinquents  were  sent  to  earth  .  had  it  just  happened  five  years  ago  ,  luke  would  still  be  alive  and  her  life  would  have  been  much  different  .  

double  shifts  and  with  little  to  no  breaks  had  worn  her  out  ,  leaning  against  the  wall  inside  the  meeting  room  for  him  to  finish  rotation  .          ❝  hi  stranger  ❞          she  teases  ,  however  her  playful  demeanour  soon  changes  when  his  shoulders  slouch  .  she  had  not  seen  him  most  of  the  day  ,  their  usual  partnership  split  because  of  the  riots  .  she  pushes  herself  off  the  wall  to  meet  him  half  way  ,  gently  laying  a  hand  on  his  shoulder  .          ❝  if  it’s  true  it  means  you’ll  get  to  see  sage  soon  .  hopefully  she  hasn’t  been  up  to  too  much  trouble  .  ❞          leia  offers  him  a  gentle  smile  ,          ❝  but  it’s  still  just  a  rumour  for  now  .  ❞          she  shrugs  ,  knowing  she  cannot  afford  to  get  her  hopes  up  .

delicately  she  holds  genya’s  face  between  her  hands  ,  scared  the  fiery  redhead  will  crumble  even  more  in  her  hands  .  thumbs  gently  brushing  the  never  ending  stream  of  tears  away  .  leia  was  no  healer  ,  oh  how  different  her  life  would  have  been  if  she  was  !  threads  of  darkness  weaved  into  genya’s  porcelain  skin  .  the  blonde  had  been  terrified  when  the  nichevo'ya  were  unleased  .  but  her  terror  must  have  been  nothing  compared  to  what  genya  felt  when  the  darkling  unleashed  them  on  her  .

          ❝  i  know  it  feels  like  that  right  now  .  but  we  still  have  each  other  okay  ?  we’ll  find  a  way  out  of  here  i  promise  ,  ❞          a  desperate  attempt  to  reassure  genya  ,  but  also  herself  .  it  was  a  miracle  her  cover  had  not  been  blown  ,  that  the  black  general  had  allowed  her  to  visit  the  tailor  who  was  now  branded  a  traitor  .  tears  pool  in  her  eyes  ,            ❝  how  do  i  help  genya  ,  i  don’t  know  what  to  do  ?  ❞          it  is  the  same  desperation  she  felt  when  luke  had  bled  out  in  her  arms  ,  utter  helplessness  .  there  is  no  pull  ,  nothing  inside  her  that  tells  her  how  to  fix  the  tailor  .
