Top Phoebe Bridgers’ song lyrics I have fallen in love with:-
Soz so dense, but to leave out would be an injustice.
1.)  Garden Song
And when I grow up I'm gonna look up from my phone and see my life And it's gonna be just like My recurring dream I'm at the movies I don't remember what I'm seeing The screen turns in to a tidal wave Then it's a dorm room Like a hedge maze And when I find you, you touch my leg And I insist But I wake up before we do it
2.) Motion Sickness
I have emotional motion sickness Somebody roll the windows down There are no words in the English language I could scream to drown you out
Hey, why do you sing with an English accent? I guess it's too late to change it now You know I'm never gonna let you have it But I will try to drown you out [Bridge] You said when you met me, you were bored You said when you met me, you were bored And you, you were in a band when I was born
3.)  Kyoto
Remember getting the truck fixed When you let us drive it Twenty-five felt like flying I don't forgive you But please don't hold me to it Born under Scorpio skies
4.) Smoke Signals
I didn't know you then And I'll never understand Why it feels like I did "How Soon Is Now" in an '80s sedan You slept inside of it because your dad Lived in a campground in the back of a van You said that song will creep you out until you're dead
5.)
6.)
7.)
8.)
9.)
10.) ICU
But I feel something when I see you now I feel something when I see you [Verse 2] If you're a work of art I'm standing too close I can see the brush strokes I hate your mom I hate it when she opens her mouth It's amazing to me how much you can say When you don't know what you're talking about

Top 10 Albums of 2020
1.)  Cindy - I’m Cindy
Chromatics, Julee Cruise, Pixies, Kraftwerk, Cocteau Twins, Kate Bush, Geneva Jacuzzi.  The music is a work of art - has those kinds of synths that make me feel joyous and loving for the past.  Like every good synth song I like times a billion.  Neat, compressed yet expansive.
Connecting Italo Disco with Julee Cruise with a young woman narrative - think pink phones, endorphins, sex positivity, longing / lusting.
The lyrics are kind of lusty and silky whispers but then more decisive kind of spoken word.  A joy.  An absolute joy to listen, I am transplanted to Welcome to the US 80s/90s -teen crush point horror, pastel radios , Madchen Amick in a baby pink body suit and purple lipstick. DESIRE, DESIRE, DESIRE.
2.)  Sault - Untitled (Black is..)
3.)  Phoebe Bridgers
4.)

10.)
Happy Spendy - You’re Doing Okay
Cindy Lee - What’s Tonight to Eternity
Peaking Lights - E S C A P E
Yaeji  - What we Drew
Aoife Nessa Frances - Land of No Junction

Top (Sandy) Alex G
Too be honest, along with Big Thief & William Onyeabor who I am listening to at the moment, feels like his output is immense. Not one dud track.
1.)
2.)  Proud
3.)  Bobby
4.)  Mary
All the lyrics.  I wanna be like Mary :P
Mary is the girl that I wanna kiss Shes got big red eyes and big red lips Shes got big sharp teeth and big fat hips
Mary is the girl that I wanna fuck Shes got leather heart and leather gloves Shes the only girl that I wanna love
Listen to me baby I dont mind I wanna be with you and waste my time Give it to me baby I feel good I wanna Feel whatever you think I should Sing it for me baby play my song I wanna hear your daddy sing along
Mary is the girl that leaves you to rot
She says: "I am real and you are not" She says: "I am real and you are not"
I like the change in tone / goofy high pitched infection inflection on “Listen to me baby I don’t mind” verses, it makes me so giddy and happy but every song has this weird off kilter, unbalanced but life affirming feeling - like sentimental but abrasive/nihilist weird thing we had as teenagers when living life and coming into contact with different things.
Last verse kind of macabre but I REALLY like it because I am real, and you are not.  Not to make rash generalisations but I think most people engage in this when narrating our existences. Making claims towards greater, considerably more important personhood than others.  (said like a true Stan and Pam Herbert from Harry Enfield n Chums).
5.)  Babylon
6.)  Brite Boy
7.)  Memory
8.)  Sarah
She belongs in a dream
Every day I make promises that plague Sarah’s heart.
Prick, aye.
9.)  In My Arms
10.)  Forever
Salt on your tongue.
Forever and ever (so catchy can't help but sing in high-pitched tones).

Top 50 Actors
Aye yeah, instead of writing a list abut men I thought I’d write down my favourite actors who are women.
1.)  Susan Sarandon
A dream.  A range of people.  i LOVE HER SO MUCH.
2.)  Toni Collette
Transforms herself in every role, so expressive, so vital and strong.  She becomes so many people it’s unreal.
3.)
4.)  Winona Ryder
5.)  Anne Bancroft
6.)
7.)
8.)  Cissy Spacek
I like her role choices and the fact that she can play strong and vulnerable characters.
9.)  Gina Davies
Absolute babe times a billion.  If I could look like any woman it would be a hybrid of Gina in Thelma and Louise and Betty from A League of Their Own. Perfect Jawline. She has this intelligence and grit and absolute charisma, I would die for her.
10.)  Lauren Bacall.
Oh my heart.  So aloof.  So many tailored men’s suits.
11.)
12.)  Mädchen Amick
Crystallised as Shelly, she so fine.  Honestly, the most interesting face, the best US 80s/90s grunge kid.  Every 80s shopping mall where there’s that one goth woman who’s willowy and pale, with dark lipstick and killer eyebrows.  Everything I like about that time period is encapsulated in Madchen Amick’s face. Okay - what I like.  Her frown, her kind of absolute charisma.  You have to really watch her, staring intently, because she steals every scene she is in. I honestly think her face is perfection.  In interviews she’s honest and self-deprecating and kind of off kilter and not afraid to be a geek.  Her name means she’s also a member of the weird name club.  If everything is related to self, I see my own projection of my self onto her.  Along with Gina Davies, if I could look like any one it would be Madchen.  She’s a dream.  She’s the loveliest of all lovelies.  She’s so lovely.
13.)  Saiorse Ronan
Great actress, subtle with range and intelligence
14.)   Michelle Pfeiffer
Absolutely smoking.  Made Grease 2 good.
15.)  Tessa Thompson
Baller, killer, strong.
16.)  Merritt Weaver
Dreamy, chill, lovely, multi-faceted.
17.)  Joan Crawford
Working class beaut!!
18.)
19.)   Rita Hayworth
One word.  Gilda.
20.)  Greta Garbo
21.)  Marilyn Monroe
22.)  Shelly Duvall
23.)  Jean Seaberg
24.)
25.)
26)  Thandie Newton
27.)  Jodi Foster
28.)
29.)
30.)  Julianne Moore
In Boogie Nights, she made me feel in awe and life-affirming with a kind of sexual appreciation of the 1970s.  I’m not sure why I feel this but it’s a lusty feeling.  Weird eh.
31.)
32.)
33.)
34.)  Betty Davies
35.)  Natalie Wood
36.)  Lupita Nyong’o
37.)   Mary Elizabeth Winstead
38.)  Sophia Loren
39.)  Catherine Hepburn
40.)  Evan Rachel Wood
41.)  Shirley MacLaine
42.)  Lupe Vélez
43.)  Vivian Leigh
44.)  Rachel Weiz
45.)   Anna Friel
46.)  Isabella Rossellini
47.)  Jennifer Connelly
48.)  Drew Barrymore
49.)  Dianne Morgan
50.)  Parker Posey

Top 10 Big Thief
Lyrically possibly strongest band i’ve ever encounter. Adrienne’s vocals are the most gorgeous I’m listening to at the moment - angelic and earthy, light and dark.  What really stands out is the pacing - crashing, sped up, euphoric but slowed down and melancholic.
1.  Shoulders
You brought me in You brought me in So touch my skin and tell me where you been
You showed me how To keep myself from burning out
2.  Shark Smile (Edit)
3.   Masterpiece
4. Orange
5. Not
6.  Velvet Ring
7.  Objects
8.  UFOF
9.  Pretty Things
These things that lonely ones do
Do you want to?? So earnest.
Don’t take me for a fool, there’s a woman inside of me.  There’s one inside of one too.
There is a meeting in my thighs wearing thunder and lightning
I’ve got lips like sugar.
10.   Rock and Sing
(ha rhyme slightly on 9 and 10 choices).
11.)
Mary
Will you love me like you loved me in the January rain?
Paling - rhyme - tightly packed narrative but never over-wrought, never annoying, simplicity but so much beauty in there.
Mythological beauty
You lie in bed at night and watch the lines and headlights
If you want to leave, you just have to say.
You’re all caught up inside - so lovely and melodic.
Crashing, pace, so thudding and prodding and densely packed with complexity and beauty and ugliness.  It tears your heart out almost, “you’re all caught up inside”
OOOH Mary!!!  From Century  Cattails? Oh every song is good.

Top Cure songs
1.)  A Forest
Bass.
I can remember exactly where I was when I heard it.  It was on some kind of compilation CD from Q magazine.   I loved it.
2.)  Fascination Street
Bass
3.)  The Walk
3.)  Just Like Heaven
Sounds like what I imagine heaven to sound like.  Light, shimmery, cloud-like, golden.
5.)  Let’s Go to Bed
6.)   If only tonight we could sleep
Bass
Romantic loveliness.  Building, swoon, moony.
7.)  Plainsong
8.)  Closedown
Bass
9.)  Pictures of You
4 56 When Smith softly sings “do do do do do” over the guitars.. Oh my heart - most gorgeous sound I heard.  Then next verse and again with the “do do do do do”.
10.) Close to me
Best Cure song for dancing, hopscotch off-kilter, one leg, the other leg, switching.
11.)  Lovesong
Another Cure song I can’t listen to sometimes, too reminiscent of aged 17- 24 - intense feelings, insecurity, romance, hatred, class warfare, deprivation, illness, egotism, anger, anger, anger.  Heck, sometimes I still am that obnoxious person but I’ve just learned to package it in a more palatable way :P dampen, dull down, mute.
12.) 10:15 Saturday Night
Might actually be my favourite Cure song though.

Top 12 Cocteau Twins
1.)  Pitch the Baby
For the best, most clear lyric, sounding like angels
“I only want to love you, i only want to love you”
Picks up pace and becomes this heavenly sound, but its a distinctly 80s shoegaze sound that I like - layered synths, excellent hooks, feminine vocals.
I am transported to Manchester basement flats, raves, a wooly stripey green jumper, shoulders kissed, a pink body suit, a grey purple MBV t’shirt I bought the first time I saw them, a trip to Amsterdam with Pen.
2.)  Lorelei
3.)  Cherry Coloured Funk
4.)  Heaven or Las Vegas
5.)  iceblink luck
6.)  Fifty fifty clown
7.)  Persephone
8.)  Beatrix
9.)  Oomingmak
10.)  sea swallow me
11.)  In our angelhood.
