This world was still new… those faces.. those buildings, cars, money, electrical appliances. When someone showed him a cell phone, Steve thought that maybe, just maybe, it was a dream and sooner or later, his boyish persona would wake up with Bucky next to him and his mom, seeing relieve on their faces.
But he didn’t wake up… and the empty space on both sides of his bed were cold and void.

This wasn’t a playground full of BULLIES anymore.This wasn’t an assurance of his own strength.This wasn’t an angry growl at the rest of the world. This was REAL. Those people were real, this WAR was real and the DEATH was TOO REAL.
But Steve has learned so far that it was nothing but a randez vous between him and THE BEING which took away too many people already. Too many GOOD soldiers and civilians. Which took his father and mother… and which took his best friend and a left hand….and if protecting those who can not fight… protect those who WANT to fight…protect his force.. and Peggy meant to go out there and kick out some Nazis’ teeth, he will do it…he will always do it…
The male’s gaze found the source of a familiar voice.
Sweet Mary and Jesus, she was more STUBBORN than he was.
“Remember when you told me I am more than just a lab rat or a dancing monkey? That I was meant for more than this ? This is MORE.”
He was already on his feet, wearing the colors of his NEW life. This was his graveyard, if it must be.
" Besides, I know everything will go our way -”
Putting his helmet on, Rogers offered a languid smile, full of admiration and pure RESPECT, for this woman was something more than just an agent… but this story was for some other time.
