Hello! There's a cap simple because it isn't feasible for a few people to moderate and format a zine with over 50 people.

But pitches don't have to be specific, and they can be changed later!

Hello! Would it be ok to double check on if a character or characters would be allowed? There are two Im thinking of that Id say are gender-fluid or possibly trans- both from older animes!

Yes! You can ask about any specific characters; the ones on our list just come from the interest check!

hello! I have 2 questions about characters for the trans zine

would Envy from Fullmetal Alchemist count because they are not human and born nonbinary? and would Chihiro Fujisaki from Danganronpa (and the animation) count for her heavy trans coding? If you're unfamiliar with her, she's explained in canon as a "man pretending to be a woman to avoid bullying," but many hold the belief that she the result of a transmisogynistic writer's view of trans women.

Yes, both of those characters would count! But for the latter, just proceed with caution and grace due to the source material.
