Blog Moving!
This post will be queued for once a day for the next week.
Due to how painful being a sideblog is, I’ve finally made the decision to switch to a main blog. This blog will be remaining here as an archive, but otherwise, I will be moving to usagichronicles! I hope to see all of you there!

Okoori was somewhat suffering in the heat and humidity as well. It was making her sleepy and quite lethargic, keeping awake by her own strength of mind. By that it’s meant that she was slowly nodding forward towards her stall and the lovely (if small) shade it provided, her eyes fluttering with the effort to stave off sleep.
That was until a large hand slammed down upon the stand, causing her to let out a very un-lady-like eep of fright, jumping in her seat atop the box, shocked wide awake.
Tumblr media
Her next word was a very quiet “... Okay.”
She stood up from her box slowly, opening up one of the other ones and retrieving a gourd, kept extremely cold by the ice it had been chilled within. After a second, she took one for herself too. It didn’t even occur to her that the giant of a man melting in front of her stand should pay for it. She just passed the ice cold gourd into his failing hands.
Tumblr media
“Please drink,” she said. Despite the humidity and her own surprise, she didn’t look too rattled now. “You know what the hot seasons are like in Gensokyo. Please take care of yourself, my friend.” My, if he was fully standing, he’d be much taller than her.
@usagienforcer
As the spring came to its end, the next season made sure to make their presence known at the start of their day. Cries would be heard all around and more so at the forests as the cicadas went on and on as the sun’s rays atop the clear blue sky would shine down upon the land.
The humidity was far to much it was troublesome to be regardless if they were in or out of the house.
At a small stall that went along a road that lead to the forest of magic on one end and to the human village on the other, a hand would slam itself onto the board of the stand. And soon after the owner of the hand pull themselves up, their face completely covered in sweat.
Tumblr media
“Water… Give me that sweet cold nectar…”

Intrepidity
@magicaldreaming
Aoi had been heading through an abandoned village long ago ravaged by a calamity, when she’d spotted a group of people living within it. They were armed with a variety of weaponry, namely blunt melee weapons or crossbows, and who knew what kind of Arts. Aoi had immediately begun to skirt the village and avoid it, when she began to hear fighting within.
She couldn’t miss her first possible scoop! It was the Liberi’s first official assignment abroad. The new photojournalist from Higashi was now in Laterano — but she’d been distracted from her original assignment by this. The photographer was crouched behind a pile of rubble, her trusty camera raised to take pictures, the microphone that amplified her art tucked under her arm, rather than in hand. As far as she could tell, there was only one adversary to this militant group, but whoever that person was, they were doing a number on the group.
Another press of the camera, another trio of pictures another militant blasted into a ruined building. Her camera’s operation was the only sound that could give away where Aoi was. She was confident that over the shouts and battle around her, nobody would hear it. Now, could she get a good shot of the person the militants were fighting...?
The feathers flowing from her hair raised in alarm, screaming at her to duck. On instinct, Aoi did so immediately, bringing her camera with her. A caster’s bolt of deadly Arts flew over her head, exploding upon the wall behind her and showering her back with debris. “Ah!” She cried in surprise, likely giving her away even further, had she not already been entirely spotted. She poked her head back out, eyes widening as multiple militants turned towards her position and began to advance as one, with clear violent intent.
Tumblr media
“Ah—I’ve screwed up.” The camera dangled on the strap around her neck as Aoi took up the microphone instead, fright causing her voice to catch before she could sing anything. So instead, she bolted, rushing away down one of the rubble-strewn streets.

“Bill’s my brother. So, so of course I don’t trust him. First he says that I am not Unit Zero material. Next, he says that being a bounty hunter is dangerous work and that I should just work for the government or something. But enough about my wonky family.” Skie said.
She soon took Helen to the docks. This was were all the airships were located. It was more like a floating hanger bay above the clouds. It was somewhat of a gut wrenching sight.
Tumblr media
She then pointed to her blue racer, the Ethereal. “She is my baby. Fastest racer in this sector. Yeah, I know. I do gambling, racing, and bounty hunting. I’m a risk taker. Maybe, an idiot. Doesn’t steer me wrong too often.” Skie said.
“So you said, you had one of your own? Is it one you’re renting or does Earth actually make good airships?” Skie asked.
Bill was a family matter with somebody Helen barely knew, so she did not comment upon that, instead following the other girl quietly.
Tumblr media
“I don’t do the racing part,” Helena commented as she looked at the blue racer, “despite the name of our ships. She looks pretty good, but you’ll have ter slow down a bit fer mine, probably.” Helena seemed unbothered by the height and floating hangar as she pointed towards another racer, this one green, what paint hadn’t been scratched away at least. It was bigger and bulkier, visibly more armoured and rather scratched up. Its rear engine assembly was absurdly large. “That’s my girl. I’m not a good judger on the qualities of racers, but she can take a hit. She was advertised as the ‘ultimate victory in thrust over aerodynamics,’ and in my experience, she’s got quite a kick ter the engines. Just doesn’t keep that speed very well.”
Helena’s model was rugged and easy to maintain, being such a simple design it was obvious. For those who wanted survivability and ease of maintenance, it was a good racer, so it fit Helena well. However, it was not too manoeuvrable, and not too aerodynamic either, depending on extremely powerful engines.  If it had to turn at all, it instantly lost all speed.
Tumblr media
“Could probably give you a run fer your money in a drag race, gadgie. Add in any kind of turn, I’m left in your dust. I own her. Been using her fer a couple years, now, and she hasn’t let me down yet.” But it sounded like the racer didn’t have a name.

Hotaru then proceeded to run towards the remaining muggers, using the heavy revolver as a blunt club, before they were all finally subdued. Years of training, made her a much better fighter than when she was just a magical girl.
Hotaru pulled out her phone. “Yeah. I finally found the muggers. They’ll be knocked out cold when you boys arrive. Yep. These are the ones that have been smuggling in the weapons from Russia. I didn’t find anything odd yet. But that’s your Department’s job.
She hung up.
Tumblr media
”Well, that was eventful. I feel like going out for a drink. You old enough to do that? I only ask because you’re not the only young vigilante in these streets.”
Smuggling weapons from Russia? Damn. Takane blinked twice at that surprise. She might’ve been dealing with someone far worse than a simple mugging. It didn’t take this many people to do this kind of thing, either.
Hm.
Well, she was at least appreciative of the fact this agent was not only not going to arrest her, but was offering to go out drinking. Takane estimated the shorter woman was likely about twice her age, but fortunately, the vigilante was still old enough. She smiled and nodded, relaxing her hold on the staff and letting down her guard somewhat. The businessman had scampered off. No need to remain here.
Tumblr media
Takane held out her free hand to shake, a sign of gratitude, despite the fact she hadn’t said a single word. Her smile was much less cocky and selfsure, now that she wasn’t putting on an air of bravado in the face of an enemy.

“i DoN’t APpLY to aNY RuLES bUT THE oNES wE SeT uP…wE beING THe rED…THe Red IS the Only THing I lisTeN TOo…”Wadanohara pretty much making people mad with those kinds of comments. A shrine maiden will kick her ass for this.
Tumblr media
“bUT WE’rE NOT leAvIng.. wE’rE neVeR LEaViNG uNTIl We Get OUR wiSh…”She began chuckling.  “yOu WOn’T GeT ANy BUsinEsS IF YoU’re NOT GoNNA Deal With THIS soOneR. NoNE wHATSoevEr~” If she cannot get what she wants, she’s gonna try to ensure the other gets no business at all.
Okoori’s stare at Wadanohara was not quite a glare, but it was certainly not a kind look. Yes, a certain shrine maiden would likely be hearing about this incident, but certainly not within the next couple of minutes. Okoori did not speak for about a minute, visibly considering her options.
Tumblr media
“Then I suppose it is a trial of waiting to see who shall break first,” Okoori said, perhaps surprisingly so. “Or the time that I naturally close up comes, in three hours.” No business was not good, particularly at this time of the day, which was usually approaching one of her busiest. It was not a prospect the woman liked. But Okoori was too stubborn to close early, and she was certainly not inclined to acquiesce to the youkai’s demands, either. It was rather a matter of dignity, though none of the Human Village inhabitants would likely reproach her for closing up due to youkai interference. The fan began swishing again.
Tumblr media
“Passing stranger you may be, if we are to engage upon this competition, shall we exchange names? It would be... boring, to sit here and speak of nothing the entire time.” Even if she was likely not to actually enjoy such conversation, might as well. It occurred to Okoori that she hadn’t even tried to taste the kind of emotions coming from the youkai. What was this interloper feeling?
