Different Types of US Letter Address Formats
Whether you’re sending a postcard or a letter, formatting your address correctly can help ensure your mail is delivered as quickly as possible. The Postal Service uses automated processing machines to scan envelopes, so you can delay your mail’s delivery if you incorrectly write your address.
The first line should contain the name of the sender or company and a street address. Next, list the city and state abbreviation. Finally, include the ZIP code. A five-digit ZIP code is often used, but a four-digit area-specific ZIP+4 code may also be necessary.
International mailings are typically addressed using the same format as domestic addresses, but there may be minor variations in address formats between countries. The Universal Postal Union has a listing of address formats for most countries worldwide, so a little bit of extra time spent clarifying the proper format can make a big difference when sending or receiving international mail.
Colombia & Hungary
Unlike most western countries, addressing systems in Colombia and Hungary use a numeric format based on calles which increase from south to north and carreras which increase from east to west. They then list city, county and district names in a 3rd line below the street name.
Japan & Korea
In Japanese and Korean addressing systems, the city line is generally below the street address. The addressee’s name is usually put in the first line and region names, including a state, province, county, district, town, territory, land, shire, department, canton, prefecture or oblast, are placed on a third line.

What is a Cheque Register in Canada?

Use a Cheque Register to Verify Your Bank Account Balance
A check register is an easy-to-use application that helps you keep track of your cheques. It can also be used to verify your bank account balance and spot any errors that you might have overlooked.
Reconciliation is a critical step in any financial transaction. It allows you to see any discrepancies between your bank account and your checkbook, allowing you to fix them.
Moreover, it can prevent fraud and identity thefts. It can also help you identify if you have written a cheque to the wrong person.

What Should You Do If You Make a Mistake While Writing a Cheque?
There are many times when you may make a mistake while writing a cheque and it can be very confusing to figure out what to do next. This is especially true if you’ve made a mistake that is larger than a single letter or number.
If you make a mistake that is large enough to be noticed, it’s best to void the check immediately and write a new one instead. This will ensure that your bank doesn’t keep on processing checks that aren’t error-free and that it can’t make a decision to accept or reject them in the future.
You might also want to add a post-date to the cheque so that the recipient can’t cash it until that date. This is particularly useful if you’re waiting for money to be transferred from your account to theirs or if you’re giving someone money as a gift.
It’s also important to include your name, address and contact details on the check, as well as on the payee line. You should also write the date, as this will help you and the person receiving the check to keep accurate records.
Another common mistake that people make when writing a cheque is that they write the wrong amount. This is not only frustrating, but it can cause problems later on if the bank discovers the contradiction and makes adjustments to your account. It’s usually easier to void the check and write a new one than it is to correct the amount, so it’s better to just start over.

Example of Attention Line in Business Letters
An attention line is an attention-catching section that appears on a formal letter to ensure it is addressed to the correct person. It is often used in business correspondence when a sender knows the name of someone within a company but cannot be sure of their full name or position title. It is also advisable when sending correspondence to a company with multiple departments.
Attention Line Placement:
The attention line should appear at the top of the letter, directly above the name of the company or organization. It should be spelled out rather than abbreviated, and should include the recipient's street, city, state and zip code.
Salutation: The salutation is the first part of the letter that the writer addresses to the recipient. It is customary to begin with Dear, followed by a title such as Mr., Ms., Mrs. or Dr., but it can be dropped when the writer is on a first name basis with the recipient.
Recipient Address: The recipient's address should be justified to the left margin and placed two spaces below the date of the letter (for very short letters four spaces is acceptable). It includes the street, city, state and zip code. It also includes identifying words such as Avenue, Circle, Court, Drive and Street.
Enclosures: When including additional items to enclose with the letter, list them three lines below your signature or one line below the typist's initials. They should be listed in the order of their use, so that the recipient can easily find them and remember them when they are reading the letter.

How to Write a Good Attention Letter Template
Writing a letter can be an important part of requesting a meeting, submitting a proposal, applying for a job or sending other business correspondence. It's crucial that your letter is error-free and clearly written, and that it reaches the correct person. The format of a business letter includes a formal greeting, an attention line and a body paragraph.
Attention Line: A standard business letter has an attention line, which comes after the company's contact information and before the body of the letter. The line begins with "Attention of" or "Attn." and ends with a colon, which is placed flush with the left margin.
Your Name and Address: Add your full name, job title, company name, phone number, email address and mailing address to the attention line, if applicable. If you're sending your letter by mail, include a date a few lines below your name and address.
A typist's initials are also included to indicate who typed the letter. However, if you're writing your letter yourself, omit these initials.
Company Address: Most companies will have a street address and a suite number that can help you connect with the right person. If you don't have a physical address, check the company website or social media accounts for names of people who work in a particular department.
If you're unsure of the name of someone in a particular department, use the job title instead. This makes it easier to find a contact and get a response quickly.
