What the fuck happened in the what If scenario for jinah to join white tiger. The fact that her character are also listed as an ssr hunter kind of baffles me. So like, she's an A-rank? Or maybe even as S-rank. I have no idea

I haven't actually see another mage hunter in the white tiger's guild.. Beside heejin. So that means there's two wind mages women. Hooray🥳

Im telling you right now. I will grip your shoulder while I say this. Kihoon's cape being so similar to Jong-in was not a coincidence. That man requested the maker to make that cape similar with stars shining in his eyes. Kihoon being a good leader, willing to take the hit for his team was also Jong-in's influence. If we go with Jong-in saving Kihoon from the Jeju raid, then this whole thing would go much deeper. From the moment Jong-in saved his life, Kihoon's decision were dead set on him.

"Oh hes so.. Hes so cool. I don't know if I wanna be with him or be him.." Type of stuff. It's basically Kihoon having a celebrity crush on Jong-in. Which was very understandable, mind you.

The break up before relationship is only okay in a completely different universe, people. And even then, don't make them together again. Please. If we're talking about THE choibaek, the usual, then it's a big no. The silent yearning and fear they had was too strong for them to actually do that.

And about the insulting each other is kind of ridiculous im so serious. They teased each other, yes. All the time even. But they also glaze and praised the other. They did admired each other greatly, even though it rarely happened in the same room. Them genuinely degrading each other sounds extreme tbh. I mean. Come on guys. They've been rivals for years. There has to be a line that they never create, but know not to cross. And even if it did happen, they're close enough to apologize immediately.

Choi Jongin and Baek Yoonho breaking up before getting back together

I really don't get this headcanon. While both of them may have a hard time communicating their feelings out of fear of how the other may react, it makes little sense why they would ruin their relationship because of it. They're both guild masters who know how to handle arguments and care a great deal about those they have a relationship with, particularly those they are close with. 

Breaking up is fine (it's not, not for these two), but why get back together if they broke up in the first place? They're intelligent men who know how to communicate. Why would they get back together after already ending the relationship? Does their relationship mean so little that it can be ended and mended together like used rope? Only using each other when they need/want a short sweet moment only to throw the other away so easily rather than communicating?

Choi Jongin being the dramatic one and Baek Yoonho being the grumpy one

We'll start with Choi Jongin. When has Choi Jongin ever been shown to have little control over his emotions? Sure, they may show on his face, but never in his words aside from a sarcastic/snide comment nor his actions. He never yells unless he's warning people in a dangerous situation and wouldn't raise his voice in anger at all. Would someone known as the Ultimate Weapon really be praised if he was prone to anger? He’s very reserved about his feelings and hides them behind a smile/smirk and only shows them to people he trusts

Next is Baek Yoonho. While I don't mind him getting easily annoyed at someone's teasing (it's so easy to do so after all), I don't get him frowning/scowling/being angry at someone all the time. In the novel, there are quite a few moments where he's actually smiling or is the one who starts the teasing. I think he just has a resting angy face, but he's stated to be known to be a positive person in the novel, so this doesn't make much sense to me

Choi Jongin and Baek Yoonho insulting each other

There's a difference between teasing each other and outright degrading each other. This has always been something that annoyed me. The comments about Baek Yoonho being like a cat or Choi Jongin being fancy are great, encouraged even. Them judging each other's tastes in things is funny to me. The ones I hate are the ones where the insults are about things they have little to no control over, such as their intelligence or part of their appearance that they can't control. Particularly Baek Yoonho because Baek Yoonho is very observant and smart. Not as perceptive as Choi Jongin, but they're pretty much on the same level when factoring every thing. 

Also, if they insulted each other's flaws that much, why would they like each other? At that point, it's less about getting a funny reaction, and it more borders on them becoming numb to the insults to the point where they would hardly believe the other if they were to be honest all of the sudden because they think it might be a joke. Or on the other hand, they start to believe the insults after hearing it so often. Insults make sense if they just met, but when they have feelings for each other? After years of knowing each other, do they still just focus on each other's shortcomings? 

Everyone thinking Choi Jongin and Baek Yoonho are enemies

Key word: Enemies. Not rivals. Big difference. I think they’re known for being competitive (hard to hide that with how Choi Jongin steals gates and how equally stubborn Baek Yoonho can be). However, I don’t understand the headcanon that media thinking they can’t go one second without lashing at each other.

There’s a line between people hyping up the rivalry and people truly believing they can’t get along at all, and it’s nonexistent sometimes. They’re seen together in public all the time (Have you ever seen these two not in the same room when both of them are not working in their guilds? I didn’t think so), and the media has nothing to say on them not getting along (the novel speaks a lot about the media, and it doesn’t even say anything negative about their relationship there)

Loving this small wave of ChoiBaek fics where Choi Jongin found Baek Yoonho cute from the very beginning and teases him because his angy expressions are also very cute while Baek Yoonho found him annoying at first before he has an existential crisis upon realizing his feelings for Choi Jongin much later. Very in character in my opinion

The more recent fics have also captured their softness while bantering very well too. Like, Baek Yoonho calling Choi Jongin an idiot while Baek Yoonho is gently tucking Choi Jongin into bed and kissing his forehead

(That’s just an example. That doesn’t have in the fics. Choi Jongin going to bed without a fight? Baek Yoonho wishes)

Sure, there are only two people who recently wrote them like this, but hey, I'll take what I can get

I dunno, I’m pretty sure the ChoiBaekkies (ChoiBaek shippers) have two brain cells, and we just happen to share one. The other brain cell? this has been sitting in my gallery for a few weeks and now that i have this blog, i figured i might as well post it. i love his dragon, one of the coolest abilities in sl imo

This makes so much sense auaghshshwhwhhw💔💔 this would go hard with dead Jong-in but unfortunately im far too weak to do that so hospitalized Jong-in it is. Yoon-ho caressing Jong-in's bare face, no glasses no nothing and he noticed just how soft Jong-in look without those frames. How his bangs would slightly be in the way of his left eye, how Jong-in would looked like if he was truly relaxed. He would visit Jong-in everyday after work, no matter how tired he was.

(and unlike eun-seok and Byung-gyu, Jong-in could actually had a chance to wake up so now Yoon-ho was more desperate than ever to see his rival slash boyfriend waking up)

Okay, so you know those stories about cats or dogs staying at their owner's graves, grieving and refusing to leave?

Two words: Baek Yoon-Ho

I know the first thought might be Lee Eun-Seok or Min Byung-Gyu, but I, of course, think about Choi Jong-In

(For the sake of my sanity, let's just say Choi Jong-In is unconscious and recovering in a hospital, but you know. Replace "hospital" with "grave" if you want. I don't want, so I'm not gonna do that)

Baek Yoon-Ho being reminded of Choi Jong-In every time he sees the color red, seeing that no photo he has fully captured how beautiful Choi Jong-In looks awake, visiting Choi Jong-In with flowers so often that the room he's in looks like a small garden with flowers ranging from red to gold, spending hours just staring at Choi Jong-In, waiting for him to wake up

do you guys know how ridiculous choibaek is in terms of humanity. Yoon-ho, who clearly had more animal-like ability was more humane than Jong-in. He might be feared by people for his beast transformation, for his own ability to protect while still somehow proving them absolutely wrong by keeping his humanity intact, having complete control over his power. While Jong-in who appeared more 'docile' was actually inhuman with his powers? He did had great control over it, don't get me wrong. But it was still stated that it's not complete like Yoon-ho does.

i'm not saying that Jong-in is stronger than Yoon-ho in terms of power, they're both powerful in their own way. It's just so ironic how that title 'ultimate hunter' dehumanize Jong-in a lot to the point even Jong-in himself also did it. Yoon-ho who appeared to be feral and rough was way more human than Jong-in could ever be. They're such an opposite, yet there's aspect of them that mirrored exactly the other one.

The whole thing about Yoon-ho being a firefighter genuinely baffled me the first time I knew about it. What the fuck, what do you mean this guy used to be a firefighter?? And his supposed 'rival' was a fire mage?? Yoon-ho couldn't possibly feared or be burned by Jong-in's flames because he was used to dealing with them, Yoon-ho knew flames better than Jong-in did. Oh god what the fuck. They're insane.

They're such an opposite, yet the only one that could understand them the most was each other. It's such a waste how the canon didn't expand their relationship more. They're literally destined to be together, whether it was romantic or not. The universe noticed Jong-in hating fire and decided to give him that as his power. Oh, and also a boyfriend that's used with dealing fire. How fitting.
