Remember the scene in 'Mystic Meadows' where Goodwyn tells Sofia that nicknames/titles in sorcerer circles are very important because they command respect?

Well, even that's a sign of Goodwyn's elitist attitude, and his notorious arrogance and ego. And not only his, but likely sorcerer culture in general- that being sorcerers makes them entitled to respect.

But the truth is, respect has to be earned, not commanded. Nobody is entitled to respect. And Cedric the Sensational/Great did indeed earn that for himself, especially by the end of the series.
