The more time we spend with God and focus on Him, the better. If you’re driving, ride with God. If you’re going to the grocery store, go with God. If you’re going for a walk, walk with God. Open up your whole entire life to Him. Let God in on everything, because He cares about everything.

Hey there, I may as well introduce myself as a newish member of the UU community.
I'm Jason. I'm 27 and I use he/him pronouns. I've been a UU for 4ish(?) months now and I've found a lot of peace in this community. I attend my local congregation online mostly, but will hopefully find rides soon.
What I believe in general:
The Oneness of God, not a trinity. Related to that: I don't believe Jesus was a son of God, but instead that he was a good man and a good teacher we could all learn from. I also believe that everyone goes to heaven eventually, but I also believe in a cycle of rebirths until one achieves enlightenment or a full and realized relationship with God. Finally, I believe that everything has some sort of spirit in it, from large, undisturbed crystals to trees, to mountains, to lakes.
I like to celebrate the Catholic holidays as well as use traditions from Wicca around them like Yule, Ostara and Samhain.
I am free and open to discuss more ideas if anyone is interested. My ask box will be open.

No one can describe in words the high value of prayer, for it transcends even the mystery of the angels

If anyone is interested I have a couple of religious/religious-adjacent playlists to share.
X A playlist with more church-y music like hymns.
X A more pop/folk-centered playlist.

God took the woman from Adams side
but not side like rib
side like the side of a mountain
God split the first human in half
perhaps one side larger than the other
but of equal flesh
and told them not to eat the fruit in the center of the garden
and then the snake came
he said "you can be like God"
making it literally the oldest trick in the book
"you can be beautiful" says the makeup company
implying that you are not already
but you see when the human was alone they were lonely
and lesser beings could not satiate that longing
and the human was made in God's image
you were made in God's image
and God had such a desire too, in the beginning
but not after the human
God is content with you
with your companionship
"you can be like God"
says the serpent
and the true fall
was that you ever believed
that was not
already
the case

A church that doesn't provoke any crisis, a gospel that doesn't unsettle, a word of God that doesn't get under anyone's skin, a word of God that doesn't touch the real sin of the society in which it is being proclaimed -- what gospel is that? Very nice, pious considerations that don't bother anyone, that's the way many would like preaching to be. Those preachers who avoid every thorny matter so as not to be harassed, so as not to have conflicts and difficulties, do not light up the world they live in.
Oscar Romero, The Violence Of Love

Saying that you can’t understand or have goodness without evil is like saying you can’t appreciate music without notes that are out of tune

Unpopular opinion, but you can acknowledge that certain events are tragic and feel compassionate sympathy for those involved while simultaneously knowing that unless there is something you can do that will directly, tangibly help the victims, it’s really not your business and there is no point in you worrying about it, letting it effect your mental health and arguing about it with strangers on the internet. The attitude of “don’t worry about it and mind your own business” might seem callous in today’s culture, but we were never meant to carry the weight of all of the world’s myriad tragedies.
