The skies are clear except for the dark cloud hovering over my house.

Lightning strikes anyone entering or leaving my home, killing them instantly. It's been twelve days. I'm running out of food. If Zeus is real, I don't know what I did to make him so enraged.

I always believed mechanoids should be destroyed. But as I stare down at my wound, repulsed by wires filling the space where muscle and bone should be, I realize I can no longer trust my memories.

I've been stuck in a time loop ever since I avoided that car accident. I've done everything I could to get out of the loop... except letting myself get into that accident. Was I supposed to die in the crash?

My eyes calcify in their sockets. My teeth crawl up my gums and drill into my brain. My tongue rots. Somebody save me!

"What's wrong with that human?" Asked the first one.

"I think it's sick," said the second.

I know hitchhiking is dangerous, especially when there are criminals trying to catch me, but the man giving me a lift seems nice enough.

"Thank you so much for helping me out," I say.

The stranger smiles. "You're welcome, Emily."
