Apparently, there's some disturbance out in Bona Dea. Guess Command thinks it's serious enough that they're letting me go out and take a look.
Even if it ends up being nothing, flight time is flight time. Any time in LOCKSMITH is time well spent.

Does Snail get mad at you for using more Balam parts than Arquebus ones? Also, why do you do that?
Snail gets mad about everything
Command send instructions? They're micromanaging. Command didn't send orders? They clearly don't care about Rubicon. O'Keefe didn't submit a report on time? He's pissed. Swinburne is being whiny again? He's pissed. Maeterlinck breathed too loudly in his general vicinity? He's pissed.
So yeah, he's not a particular fan of me using Balam weapons and frame parts, and neither is command. But my results can't be argued with, and I don't particularly care about "Promotion point deductions"
As for why I do it? That's simple. Those Balam parts are the best fit for the job. They have the right performance in the right areas to maximize LOCKSMITH's combat effectiveness, making me a more effective pilot in turn. That's what matters, not "repping the brand" or "enhancing the corporate image", no matter how much the C-Suite disagrees.

Which EKDROMOI unit was more annoying, the lance one or the other one?
Well, the one with the lance got a pretty nasty opening shot in, used that energy pike to drive in and attack, so I focused him down and got rid of him pretty quick. That lance sure was something, I hope ADD gets ahold of that tech to reverse engineer something I can test.
Once the energy pike machine was down, the other one led me on a chase for a while, and those lingering plasma fields caused a bit of havoc with LOCKSMITH's electronics, but top-notch ECM and a well-timed laser blade took care of that one, too.
End of the day, I'd say the pike was the most threatening, but the craft were well equipped to complement each other and take down a lesser pilot.

Damn, these PCA special forces aren't half bad, that EKDROMOI squadron almost made me sweat.
Wanted to stay and tangle with the reinforcements, but apparently that's called "insubordination" or something.

What’s your favorite food, and would you name an AC component after it?
My favorite food? Hm. Haven't eaten a whole lot of real food, lately, being on Rubicon. Lot CNBs and meal pouches, the occasional MRE with O'Keefe when he can manage to "accquire" them.
But my favorite food has got to be a good burrito. Self-contained, no need for flatware, not as messy as a taco, and able to be configured however you please to fit your current appetite. The perfect meal, really.
As for naming an AC part after it? Why not, I'd use a VE-920BRTO, if it existed. Hell, with some of the names Balam gives their gear, I'm surprised there isn't already a bazooka called burrito.
Damn, now I'm hungry... wonder if O'Keefe has any of that "coffee" left.

Do you like anthro ACs? Like aeromorphs but with ACs instead of planes.
No.
If you need to add human features to the AC to want to fuck it, you don't deserve to.
The beauty of an AC is in its inorganic nature, hard lines and sloping panels and hydraulic actuators. The thrum of the reactor under your seat and the roar of the boosters at your back. If that isnt beautiful, erotic even, to you? Then I've got nothing for you.

You’re good in your AC, but are you good at fist to fist combat too?
I'm no black belt, but I get by.
I believe being a good pilot means honing every part of your body, including the physical. To be an AC pilot is to be a weapon, body, mind, and soul, and you've got to keep that weapon sharp.
Four days per week I'm in the gym, working on cardio and boxing. Picked up some jiu-jitsu as a hobby a few years back, and I spar when I can.
So, even without my metal jacket, I can handle myself when fists start flying.

If you could fight a character from any of the AC games not including 6, who would it be and why?
Growing up on Mars, I was raised with stories of the Nine Breaker, the Master of Arena. Of course, they've been dead for hundreds of years now, so that's not happening.
But if I could? I'd love to clash with the pilot who took down Nine Ball.

Thoughts on G1 Michigan
Ol' Hell on Four Legs? Yeah, I know of him. If I had my way, I'd make taking him out my first priority, but Command listens to me even less than I listen to Snail.
Back when I was still V.IV, the Hero of the Jupiter War was all anybody could seem to talk about, doubly so when he signed on with Arquebus' biggest rival. I always hoped I'd get to face off with him, but the way the situation is going on Rubicon, it's not looking like I'll get the chance.
He's good, damned good, and I'd love to put him to the test.

Mr Freud, sir! Very curious about what your opinions on the other Vespers are. Do you have a favourite?
The other Vespers, huh?
I've got opinions, sure.
Snail is a miserable bastard. Uptight and whiny, as arrogant as they come with none of the skill or intelligence to back it up.
O'Keefe is alright. Quiet, grim, competent, decently skilled in an AC. He's a spook though, and he's got that mood-killing weirdness that seems to hang around those early-gen augmented pilots like a cloud. Still, I'll take what I can get around here.
Rusty... kid pisses me off, to be honest. He's holding back, I can tell. Sandbagging. Time and time again ive tried to bring it out, but I know a pulled punch when I see one.
Hawkins is alright. The sort of guy that plasters on a calm face to hide the shit he's been through, the people he's lost. Hangs around a lot with V.VIII.
I like Maeterlinck. She's tough-as-nails. Back in the day, she was a big PR stunt, "first woman in the Vesper Squads" and all that. But, when the last V.VI was killed, and she was the one that came up for a number? Snail and Command turned on her quicker than a turbo fan. She's fought for every inch, twice as hard as the rest. I respect that.
Swinburne is a disgusting little coward. The less said about that rat, the better.
Pater... is weird. Some say the augmentation did it to him, but I don't think so. There's something in the way he flies... eh, doesn't matter.

MG-014 LUDLOWx2 for the arm units
BML-G1/P31DUO-02 for the right back unit
Vvc-774LS for the left back unit
LAMMERGEIER/44F for the head
LAMMERGEIER/40F for the core
AA-J-123 BASHO for the arms
NACHTREIHER/42E for the legs
ALULA/21E for the booster
FC-008 TALBOT for the FCS
VE-20A for the generator
Terminal armor for the expansion
Ludlows and missiles for ACS buildup, Laser Slicer for big damage during stagger. Lammer head and body for their light weight, Basho arms for the increased melee damage. Nacht legs for significant jump height, lightness, and a forward QB that doesn’t overshoot
Thoughts on my WHIRLIGIG?
Not a bad machine. Schneider parts are good, even if the Lammergeier frame is a bit twitchy for my taste, and you'll not find arms better for close-in melee than from BAWS.
Your loadout is solid, ludlows do well for pushing ACS overload and those split missiles are a pain in the right hands. The laser slicer never was my cup of tea, but if you can use it well, it's a devastating tool.
Your internals, though, I don't know about. You've got a VE-20A, specced for energy weapon performance, when I dont see a single energy weapon on there. The Talbot FCS is a fine pick, and the Alula boosters are excellent, if you can overlook their high draw and low vertical mobility.
Overall, its a solid AC, but I'd reccomend taking a second look at that generator.

Techs fucked up my tune again, and now my generator's power curve is all fucked up. How many times do I have to tell those bastards that LOCKSMITH is off-limits.

Hi V.I! How would you feel about folks sending you their own AC designs for you to discuss?
What, you want some tips and tricks?
Alright then, send 'em in. But don't get your shorts in a twist if I hurt your feelings, yeah?

Also what does Snail dislike the most? I want my haterisms to be perfectly keyed in
That miserable bastard? It'd be quicker to name the things he doesn't hate.
But, there are certain things I love to do, just to get under his skin.
He hates being interrupted, especially with something unrelated to the topic at hand. Hell, hates being ignored at all, really.
He can't stand the smell of the artificial strawberry meal pouches. Says it makes him want to vomit.
He also hates it when people chew too loudly. Once, I saw him nearly burst a blood vessel cause V.IV was eating potato chips in the middle of a mission briefing.

What are you going to do when/if another pilot, augmented or not, catches up to you in terms of skill?
I can't wait for the day when someone catches up to me. It's been too long since I had a good, honest, fight. It's the nature of the game that someday, there's going to be someone better, someone faster, someone with a better machine, and sooner or later, your luck runs out.
When the day comes for me to finally meet my end, I'll do it with a smile on my face. I'll meet my match and plummet screaming to the ground, and it'll be worth it.
In the end, my only regret is that I can't meet my match every day.
