Depends, really. On a lot of things. But the shorter way is always the best in his opinion. Even if it means getting into an accidental fist fight in a dark alley.

Just thinking about that party made him annoyed. He wasn’t going into detail about that, though. now was not the time.

Aliens. He knew they existed, they were out there. Dorii was always a firm believer. Ugh, Star Trek and Star Wars sucked though. What a way to fuck with someone’s beliefs.

niCE LEGS DAISY DUKES

Nice legs daisy dukes: 

Your muse happens to stumble upon my muse in short shorts. Or the reverse.

Embarassing.

Dorii couldn’t believe he’d ever accepted working at this cafe. A cross-dressing cafe. One of the few little side jobs that he kept secret from his roommates. He’d never hear the end of it if Saki or Luca knew, Setsu… He wasn’t really sure she’d care, but sometimes she just spilled out things she didn’t mean to say. Therefore, no one could know about this job. Besides, he had a party image to hold up, and if anyone knew that he was really working instead it would be a disaster!

Today, work was a pain. Having theme days was a pain. Wearing daisy dukes was a pain.

Unlike most the boys here, Dorii didn’t have to wear high heels, since he was already tall enough with out them. Still, fringed cowboy boots was a bit overdoing it by a long shot. But.. the work was worth the money, besides, finding another job quickly wouldn’t be easy. He was stuck there for a while more, enduring leers and politely telling the customers to keep their hands to themselves.

(If they didn’t, let’s just say they usually got broken noses some days later in darkened alleys.)

Clicking around in the boots, was aggrivating; the swish of the fringe against the leather made his eyebrows twitch. How did women deal with this? Why did they deal with it? It was—

"Dorii?"

Oh.

Setsu’s voice rang from behind him, questioning. Not that he could blame her. He’d be questioning too. Maybe he could pretend that it wasn’t him, he could ignore her and walk back inside. He could—

"Why are you wearing short shorts? Isn’t that kinda uncomfortable for you?"

Looking over his shoulder, Dorii gave her a look, eyebrows furrowing before he dashed back inside, ignoring Setsu’s voice calling after him.

He’d have a lot to explain when he got home.

»» Blinking, Dorii looked at the other, though surprised he didn't look disappointed. It wasn't like he was really expecting gifts from anyone. He just let out a little laugh,  shoving his hands into his pockets. Even though, he could tease Saki a little bit. It didn't really sound like that great of an idea.

     "Don't worry about it." He shrugged, grinning at the other male, tilting his head to the side. "There wasn't really anything I wanted. Having you around is enough."

     It was....corny. Really, but it was true. Though he and Saki hadn't been the best of friends, they'd gotten close in their own way. Dorii was glad that they'd met. So it was fine.

     "It's been fun. Kinda crazy...well, really crazy, but I don't mind." Shrugging again, Dorii looked away and down at his feet. "So, I don't need a gift."

"Do I really look that gloomy?” Saki asked followed by a chuckle. He certainly hoped he wasn’t. Christmas was literally around the corner, after all. The blond didn’t have any reason to have such a gloomy aura, especially since everyone had such high spirits. Though it was true that all the Christmas he spent throughout his childhood wasn’t the most memorable, dwelling on it too much was too useless. Saki…hadn’t really thought about them, really.

Saki felt bad now, though, because Dorii even bought a new coffee machine for them, and Saki forgot to buy his friend a gift. It wasn’t that he had completely forgotten about it, despite the fact he had quite a reputation for forgetting things. Saki was simply undecided on what to get his friend for Christmas, so much that he had forgotten about it.

Maybe it was best to break the news to his friend earlier rather than later, when Dorii was already expecting something from him.

"Uh," the blond muttered, now his turn to put a hand on his nape in embarrassment. "Actually, um, I kinda feel bad now. I forgot to get you a gift…"

»» It'd been a long few weeks, running around silently to jobs, keeping what he was doing secret.

     But it was all going to pay off, finally. They had the money, they'd talked to the landlord. Everything was alright and ready for the new member of their little family.

     Rounding the corner and spotting Luca, the smile on his face, he couldn't help but smile right back at him.

     "Yeah, let's get going."

Weeks in planning and preparation, hearts broken and paychecks demolished, expectant families fervently (and sneakily) deterred from a certain princess… Abusing his newfound position at work? Not at all!

(But even if he had admitted to it—which he won’t—he’d say it was worth it. Worth every risk.)

He and his accomplice had decided on a meeting place and time the night before; now all they had to do was complete the preparations and spill the rest of their pooled income, and by the end of the night… they’ll be ready. Luca couldn’t help his smile when his partner rounded the corner.

"Shall we? Dorii.”

»» "You could do with some cheering up. So, I just.." Dorii had to look away, hiding his slight embarrassment behind a faint grin. "..wanted to cheer you up." 

     He had to look absolutely stupid. There was no way he didn't. Then again, when didn't he look stupid in front of his roommates? Laughing a bit, he shrugged his shoulders up.

     "Nothing like an early present to brighten the mood."

In reflex, Saki closed his eyes as the other flicked his forehead. He made a face, obviously displeased at Dorii’s antics, though he smiled in amusement at Dorii’s words. Gifts, huh? Saki didn’t need one, really; spending this special event with everyone was good enough, even if he was sick.

Saki frowned at the mention of the broken coffee pot. “Yeah, Setsu broke it.” He actually even walked in on her with the broken pot and everything, but he was too disgruntled to notice such a horrible scenario. It didn’t make sense, though. What did the broken pot have to do with anything? Oh, unless…

At the mention of the new coffee machine, the blond immediately brightened up, green eyes widening at the other.

"Wha—really?" Saki paused for a bit, turning sheepish. "Okay, but, uh, you didn’t really have to go out of your way to tell me this…" A small, awkward chuckle. "Thanks for telling me, though. I’ll make sure I’ll be the first to use that."

»»  Oh. The hectic day had totally made him lose track of what had been happening recently. Saki getting sick. Dorii peeked down at him, eyebrows raised ever so slightly and lifted his hand to poke at the other's forehead.

     "Good thing you aren't dead. How would you get your gifts otherwise?" The freckled man snorted under his breath, rolling his eyes. "But no, I heard our coffee pot was broke. Again."

      At least he wasn't the culprit this time. Not like the first time was on purpose anyways...

    Rubbing the back of his neck, Dorii glanced back at Saki's face. "So, I thought I'd break out a special gift early. I bought a new coffee machine."

Saki didn’t really feel well. He already mentioned to his roommates that his throat didn’t feel to be in the best condition. It sucked, really. Especially that it was already Christmas Eve. The blond could only hope that he’d feel better by the time they have to leave for the Christmas party at Kulea’s place, even if just for a little bit. The last thing he wanted was to ruin everyone’s fun just because he had gotten sick again.

This time of the year, really, didn’t do well for him.

Lying on his bed reading a book and checking on his phone from time to time to see what kind of mess his friends had gotten themselves into, Saki honestly didn’t have any plans to leave his room until later. When he heard a knock on his door, and Dorii’s voice, Saki could only guess that maybe Dorii thought he had died in here and was checking up on him. A simple reply would suffice, but Saki was nice enough to get up and open the door, a small, grateful smile at the ready.

"If you were wondering if I died here, I definitely didn’t. You need anything else?"

»» Christmas Eve. It'd been a long time coming, scrounging up jobs and money just to get things to make people happy. Really, his roommates should give him more credit for what he does. Though, in their on way they show that they care, be it tiny jokes in the living room or behind closed doors. Dorii liked them all a great deal, after all, why would he had stuck around otherwise?

     Maybe all this holiday cheer was getting to his emotions.

     He didn't need this right now, he was looking for Saki. Did he maybe leave the apartment? Or maybe he was in his room and being strangely quiet. Was he just upset about the coffee pot and refusing to speak or something? It seemed likely knowing Saki.

     Dorii had planned on leaving this gift until morning, for both Saki and Luca to find but maybe if the youngest was hiding in his room... he should set the gift up a bit early. Luca and Setsu were in the kitchen though and they'd end up making a fuss over it.

     What a hassle.

     So, he ended up at Saki's door, tapping on the wood. "Hey, Saki? You in here?"

Eggnog: Nothing like the classic beverage, often served with a shot of a real spirit.   For the next hour, your muse is acting strange.. perhaps there was some kind of adult beverage mixed with that eggnog..

At least this will help explain why he suddenly got the urge to build things out of candy. Even if it really has nothing to do with it, he can lie.
