solas is so fucking funny in concept. random man wanders out of the woods, claims your current problem is part of his special interest and starts helping out. you think it's a little weird, but he helps, so whatever. then years later it turns out he's a basically a disgraced nuclear scientist and you figure this out because he amputates your arm and starts an uprising

every piece of ""autistic representation"" in hollywood sucks not just because of the infantalization and inspiration porn but because movie executives always fail to realize the real universal autistic experience: spending your childhood slowly and unfalteringly realizing all of your friends not so secretly hated and/or merely tolerated you at best and you've missed every social signal about it ever

The thing that really tickles me so much in the way Morrythal introduces the Inquisitor to Rook is that it feels very much like a proud mother introducing her overachieving child to her friends
If you play a romanced Lavellan it's even funnier
"This is my daughter-in-law, Rook. She saved the South, defeated Corypheus, resolved the Mage/Templar War, prevented a Blight and an army of demons from infesting the world, and sealed the Rifts. You WILL respect her."
It's especially amusing because we know that Flemeth only had daughters and that Mythal was fiercely protective of those she deemed worthy. As the scene with Flemythal and Morrigan in DAI shows, she is immensely proud of a Dalish Inquisitor.
The redemption ending w/a romanced Lavellan also very much feels like a wedding. It's like Rook is the ring-bearer, Mythal is the mother of the bride groom giving her son away, and Lavellan is the bride with the rift behind them being a representation of divinity
Idk if it was intentional but it really feels that way and it's just. So amusing

The Strength: Thora Cadash by @antaarf
Save me alike from foolish pride, Or impious discontent, At aught thy wisdom has denied, Or aught thy goodness lent. Teach me to feel another’s woe, To hide the fault I see; That mercy I to others show, That mercy show to me. Commission of my Thora Cadash’s post-Trespasser tarot, also featuring Solas, as they play big roles in one another’s arcs and I couldn’t resist swapping a lion for a wolf. Thanks again to Anta for working with me on this!
