“So over the Olympics,” he noted unenthusiastically, drawing delicately over the rim of his mug as he stared at his phone. “They’re just there to show what us menial folk are incapable of.”
Val looked over at him with a confused face, giving a smile. “Who said we are all incapable of it. Maybe if some of us ever cared to try, we could be there.”

“Do you know you couldn’t, or think you couldn’t? I mean, have you tried it?” Alex asked curiously. He actually was curious, living vicariously through others with the few things he wouldn’t attempt was one thing he enjoyed. “You say that, but you’ve known me for like, fifteen seconds. You have no idea how annoying I could be.”
“I tried skiing in the past, but that turned out to be miserable. I’m not too much of a fan of the cold, so me being out there more than fifteen minutes was dreadful,” Valentina made a face as she thought about it, giving a shrug. “And you don’t know how annoying my employees are. Trust me.”

One More Makes Three || Self Para
It’s been two weeks since she was supposed to get her special notice, but when nothing has arrived, Valentina knew what was going on deep down. She has been exhausted the past few weeks and when she was able to, she just slept. It wasn’t like her, but luckily, she was barely home for Leo to notice that anything was going on. She knew that he didn’t want kids and they usually were able to keep control of things, but when she came home from trips, it was really hard for them to control themselves. Now, she needs to make sure that what she was thinking was real and not just a fantasy made up in her mind.
Sneaking out to get to the store, the brunette grabbed the first test she was able to grab, sneaking it off till she purchased it and brought it back to the house when he was at work. Going to the guest bathroom, Val took the test and stared at it as she waited the full four minutes it took for it to give her the result. As the positive sign popped up, she stared at it as she let out a small sigh, a smile trying to form on her face till she realized that she had to tell him. Val never truly thought about children as she was so dedicated to her career and she figured when she settled down, she would decide on that. Right now, she wasn’t ready, but it excited her to be a mom. She loved kids more than anything and now that she saw a positive on the test, she wanted to be a mother as well. The only thing was she was scared of how Leo would react to the news. It’s his child and she wanted him excited, but she knew that there was a possibility that he could get angry or not show any excitement to what she was going to have to tell him. Moving the test aside, Valentina rubbed her lips as she took her phone, texting Leo. “Hey, we need to talk when you get home. I need to tell you something.”
Setting her phone down, Valentina took the test in her hands and looked down, a smile grew as she ran her hand through her short hair. “I’m going to be a mommy.”

Alex had finally gotten his coffee and was about to sit down when someone speaking distracted him. “Huh? Oh, what event are they on? I always liked snowboarding, thought I was gonna be badass at it.” He’d never manged to try it, and he was pretty sure even he wasn’t dumb enough to try it now. “It’s more likely I’ll both you, trust me.”
“I like to watch it, but I know I would never be able to do any of it. It’s not really my thing,” Val smiled as she shrugged her shoulders. “Doubtful. I have pretty annoying employees that probably could triple the bother you think you would do.”

jared-delaney
Jared was quick to take up the brunette’s offer of occupying one of the few remaining seats in the coffee shop. Apparently, everyone in Hermosa had the same idea, watch the Olympics where there was free wifi. The latter being the reason the blond male had proceeded to take a seat across from the stranger with a steaming mug of coffee in hand. “My third cousin twice removed on my mom’s side knew a guy who was best friends with the uncle of a girl who dated a guy who had a sister who went to the last winter Olympics and she said it was really hard to do,” the blond quipped with an all too evident grin pulling at the corners of his lips. Even in his attempt to guise the reaction with a cup full of coffee it seemed he was far too humored by his own reply to the woman. “So I’m guessing from such a reliable resource that it’s really hard to do.”
Tilting her head as he spoke and watching his reaction to it, the brunette raised her eyebrows with a smile. “I heard the workouts when you get there are ridiculous. I did cross fit for a while and I thought that was crazy, but this seems to take the cake.”

Not really knowing who this woman was, J was hesitant but still intrigued by what was going on on the TV in the cafe. Squinting at it, he moved more closely to her side, holding his cup up to his lips but not drinking it yet. “You’re right,” he commented, finally sipping the extremely hot beverage. “Hm?” Brown eyes moved to meet her’s as she spoke again, offering the seat near her and sounding somewhat sad or indifferent. “Don’t mind if I do,” he replied cheerfully, taking the seat and looking back to the TV momentarily before looking down at his beverage on the table top. “I’m J, by the way,” he began, eventually extending his hand to shake her’s. “How are you doing?”
Smiling as she watched him sit down, Val nodded her head as she looked down at his hand, moving hers to shake it. “Val. It’s nice to meet you,” she took a drink of the tea as she shrugged. “I’m well. Just got home from a business trip a few days ago. Just trying to relax. How about you?”

“Ah,” Larissa nodded. “That does sound like relaxing is in order,” She agreed with the woman. “I know the feeling. I’ve been teaching dance all day and i’m exhausted,” She sighed and looked back at the woman.
“Yeah. It would be nice to just not leave the bed for a while, but work doesn’t rest for anyone, sadly. What type of dance do you teach?” Valentina looked over at her as she smiled.

“That’s decades of practice”, Declan said, looking at her over his coffee. “My brother-in-law was in Sochi, their schedule was brutal. Listening to him talk about it, I realized I’m pretty fucking weak, I did Hermosa Ironman last July and I had to rest and recover for like two months after it”, he said with a chuckle, waving of her apology for intruding. She wasn’t a bother, people picking up conversations with him never were.
“Yeah, it makes me sound lazy and I’m head of a fitness company. I guess this is giving me a few more ideas to add to what we have already,” Val shrugged as she thought about it. “Oh lord, I want to sleep for days after doing some of those cross fit competitions years ago.”

Sitting at the coffee shop drinking a hot tea, Val was watching the Olympics that was on the tv, her head tilting in thought. “I wonder how they are able to do that. I would be terrified that I would get hurt and break every bone in my body,” she spoke to no one in particular, rubbing her lips as she looked to see someone there. “Sorry. You can sit here if you want. It’s just me and I won’t bother you, I promise.”

“Apparently,” Larissa laughed softly along with the other woman. “It’s not like we pay taxes for these services,” She shook her head and groaned. “Do you have anywhere important to be?” The woman wondered. “I just wanna go home but I don’t have anything I have to be on time for thankfully enough.”
“Not really. Just heading home for now. I was on a business trip so I’m ready to relax for a few days,” Val smiled at her as she took a drink of her tea. “I feel like I could sleep for a week right now.”

“He’s fine.” Nathan was confident of that just for the sheer number of times Adrien had done the exact same thing. Per usual, his son popped right back up and waved back at his father, then turned and ran dizzily back towards the merry go round. “Just ain’t the brightest crayon in the box.”
“Okay, just curious,” she shrugged as she closed the lid of her water bottle, watching the little boy go running again. “Had to have gotten it from someone, yeah?”

nathananderss:
It was a rare thing to find Nathan with his guard down, but lazy afternoons at the park with Adrien put him in a relaxed mood. He was able to sit back on a park bench and keep a lazy eye on his son, who spent most of the time spinning on the merry go round, then getting off and running a few feet before falling over. “Walk it off!” He called to Adrien. Briefly, he realized he was being watched and he looked over. “Kid can’t hold his liquor, am I right?”
Val decided to take a run around the park, not really paying attention to much that was going on around her. Finally stopping to take a drink of water, she watched a little boy play, a smile forming on her face, only to watch him fall down. Pushing her lips to the side as she looked over at the man she assumed to be his dad, the brunette shrugged. “Is he okay?”

“Yeah, you could say so.” Most people wouldn’t consider it a job, but Heath didn’t really care about it. “it’s a hobby that also helps me pay the rent.“
“If you love what you do, that’s really all that matters right? My job was a dream job when I was younger. Actually made me work towards something, you know?” Val smiled at him as she ran her hand through her hair.

“So basically, what I’m explaining to you is simple math – if I don’t please my clients, I don’t please my business, and if I don’t please my business, then what’s the point, you know?” At this point he was merely rambling, pacing around. Leonardo suddenly stopped, lost in thought. “What if I hired an associate?”
“I wouldn’t call that math per say. More like a business thing, love,” Val looked at him with a smile as she leaned on a chair. “You could. It could give you more time with me, which would be nice when I’m home.”
