“Just as the bones, flesh, intestines and blood vessels are enclosed in a skin that makes the sight of man endurable, so the agitations and passions of the soul are enveloped in vanity: it is the skin of the soul.”

"Your pain is the breaking of the shell that encloses your understanding. It is the bitter potion by which the physician within you heals your sick Self. Therefore, trust the physician and drink his remedy in silence and tranquility."
- Khalil Gibran
The creator and the creation are one and the same. Creation is formed out of the creator, just like dance comes out of the dancer.

Life is a pure flame and we live by an invisible Sun. - Sir Thomas Brown
“Having pervaded this entire Universe with a fragment of Myself, I remain.” Krishna speaks these words in the Bhagavad Gita, the Hindu Song of God.

Annamalai Swami:
Question: It all is very well but I feel that I need some help. I am not sure that I can generate this understanding by myself.
Annamalai Swami:
The desire for assistance is part of your problem. Don’t make the mistake of imagining that there is some goal to be reached or attained. If you think like this you will start looking for methods to practise and people to help you. This just perpetuates the problem you are trying to end. Instead, cultivate the strong awareness, “I am the Self. I am That. I am Brahman [impersonal Absolute Reality]. I am everything”. You don’t need any methods to get rid of the wrong ideas you have about yourself. All you have to do is stop believing them. The best way to do this is to replace them with ideas which more accurately reflect the real sate of affairs. If you think and meditate “I am the Self”, it will do you a lot of more good than thinking, “I am the "little self”. How can I get rid of this “little self”“?

Shri Siddharameshwar Maharaj from his one book “Golden Day”
“The ancient Rishis in India first studied the material science but when they could not find the Real happiness therein, they progressed in the study of mental science. Here they made many wonderful discoveries, such as reading the minds of others, knowing things and events happening at a great distance, making one’s own form invisible to others, entering into another’s body, leaving his own, curing diseases both mental and physical by rechanting Mantras and moving through the sky and attained many other supernatural powers (siddhis); but ultimately they having found that these powers would not help them in the attainment of the Real and Eternal Happiness, directed their attention to know and realise the Soul. In this, they attained perfect Spiritual Content – they attained supreme felicity. Here they experienced unexcelled and boundless joy and happiness and in this state every one of them ejaculated “Blessed am I!”

ECKHART TOLLE
To the ego, the present moment hardly exists. Only past and future are considered important. This total reversal of the truth accounts for the fact that in the ego mode the mind is so dysfunctional. It is always concerned with keeping the past alive, because without it–who are you?

SRI NISARGADATTA MAHARAJ
In reality, time and space exist in you; you do not exist in them. They are modes of perception, but they are not the only ones. Time and space are like words written on paper; the paper is real, the words merely a convention.Discard all you are not and go ever deeper.Just as a man digging a well discards what is not water … so must you discard what is not your own, till nothing is left which you can disown.
You will find that what is left is nothing which the mind can hook on to. You are not even a human being. You just are - a point of awareness, co-extensive with time and space and beyond both, the ultimate cause, itself uncaused. If you ask me “Who are you?”, my answer would be: “Nothing in particular. Yet, I am

A nice story of Adi Shankaracharya teaching his students about true freedom
Adi Sankara was walking through the market place with his disciples.
They saw a man dragging a cow by a rope.
Sankara told the man to wait and asked his disciples to surround them.
“I am going to teach you something” and continued…
“ Tell me who is bound to whom? Is the cow bound to this man or the man is bound to the cow?”
The disciples said without hesitation “Of course the cow is bound to the man!. The man is the master. He is holding the rope. The cow has to follow him wherever he goes. The man is the master and the cow is the slave.”
“Now watch this”, said Sankara and took a pair of scissors from his bag and cut the rope.
The cow ran away from the master and the man ran after his cow. “Look, what is happening”, said Sankara
“Do you see who the Master is? The cow is not at all interested in this man. The cow in fact, is trying to escape from this man.
This is the case with our MIND.
Like the cow, all the non-sense that we carry inside is not interested in us. WE ARE INTERESTED IN IT, we are keeping it together somehow or the other. We are going crazy trying to keep it all together under our control.
The moment we lose interest in all the garbage filled in our head, and the moment we understand the futility of it, it will start to disappear. Like the cow, it will escape and disappear.”
Feeling Free and Relaxed is a Choice! This is real freedom.
