It tastes like??? Nothing????

The thing about itachi is that he could be an interesting character if the vicious, horrible things he constantly does are portrayed as the desperate actions of a misguided and traumatized person, but instead they are portrayed as like…necessary and heroic. hashi tells sasuke he has “such a good big brother”, naruto covered up the uchiha massacre just because itachi asked nicely when he’d been wanting to talk about it literally one arc prior and had to be reeled in by kakashi. Sasuke and naruto both want to emulate him as hokage and argue over their differing interpretations of his life. Obito claims he planned every step of his fight with sasuke, including the times he looked surprised and his sudden rambling breakdown over wanting sasuke’s eyeballs apparently, like it’s just so ridiculous that he might as well be a self insert oc named darkfire sparkle who is an omnipresent misunderstood heroic genius with every power known to man. And then I really just had someone in my ask compare Sakura to him, fucking Sakura who people think is a psychopath because of that one time she lied to naruto so he’d stop going on a raging self destruction bender because he’s at a loss on how to “save” sasuke. It’s literally crazy.
