Has it ever been confirmed that the -paw suffix is like. A cat paw? Cuz if it isnt, linguistically speaking... A cat could be named Pawpaw. Or a cat could be renamed with the suffix of -paw and they wouldnt know that in english its the same thing as when they were an apprentice

I kind of wish naming conventions would change depending on the clan and their individual cultures and values.

Notably I feel like shadowclan and thunderclan would have like, opposite naming conventions when it comes to what’s considered a virtuous trait.

Unpopular Opinion: I've never shipped Ravenpaw and Barley because of their age gap. Ravenpaw was an adolescent when he met Barley while the latter was already an adult. It's not as bad as Firepaw and Spottedleaf (he was the equivalent of a 10-year-old child when he met full-grown adult Spottedleaf), but it still just feels wrong.

That's fair! We never get a strong indication of Barley's age, so I've retroactively assumed he was on the younger side, but it's ambiguous enough to feel uncomfortable.

Perhaps there's medicine cats that use these sparingly in small microdoses as a form of laxative or stomach purging after ingesting other substances? Or as a sedative? Maybe as a forbidden form of knowledge that medicine cats are told to avoid, but code-breaking or rogue/villain cats still use them maliciously on in last-resort situations?
