“okay i’m going to sleep i hope i dream of shu and valt from beyblade burst” i say as i walk towards my bed (my bed is made of red and blue tinted wood, on top it is covered by my blanket which is just a huge print of valt and shu doing a fist bump. at first my bedsheets may look like red and blue polkadot when really it’s covered in tiny drawings shu and valt.) “im really sleepy” i mutter as i turn off my nightlamp (my nightlamp is in the shape of a huge figurine of shu and valt sitting by the beach) before i sleep, i fluff up my pillow (my pillow casing is a print of shu and valt watching the ocean together by the beach)

headcanon: shu and valt made a promise to always have this little reunion where they meet each other by the beach every year. they just catch up and talk and enjoy the scenery while reminiscing past memories… prove me wrong????

THIS IS. THIS. THIS FEELS LIKE. you know, imagine this: like you’re in a small-ish fandom, you ship this kinda rare ship, and you can’t find almost any fan content of them. out of desperation you look in wattpad (already a wrong move but listen). after a couple minutes of searching, you find a completed fic!! YAY!! you open the first chapter to find:

the fic is written with horrible grammar, and the characterization is wack, and the text is all chumped up in the center with NO paragraph breaks for the dialogue??1?1?1??1?1!!?!

Okay so, this is such a random post, but I GOTTA complain now that I remembered this… monstrosity of a fic.

Alright I don’t want to attack the author so no name dropping, but I need to complain about the contents they handled in this dragonfruit fic.

1. Characterisation. OUT THE WINDOW. Valt was this naive, sensitive- just plain out infantilised like it was so not him. Lui is so dumb it hurts, like bro SHOUT??? KICK??? Idgaf if Free is your soulmate/destined mate like bro he kidnapped you, I need you to get out and go to another country. Shu, stop enabling Free’s nonsense.

2. Free. HES SO BAD I NEED TO MAKE A WHOLE SECTION FOR HIM. He literally stalked Lui, kidnapped Lui, emotionally manipulated Lui, BIT LUI (btw this is an omegaverse fic so yeah a red flag already, but with dragonfruit there is no quality), slapped him after he tried to OFF HIMSELF then gaslit him into thinking he is better than his ex. Bro what… 🧑‍🦯‍➡️This is not Free. This is a whole oc at this point. It’s so not him and plot was so cheeks I had to write a fic of pure domestic fluff of dragonfruit to cleanse myself.

3. The message. I don’t know how they mischaracterised Gou but they did, and made him spout the most RIDICULOUS message ever. I can’t exactly remember the words - and I don’t want to read it again - but basically he told Lui, after he ran away for a justified reason, “He could’ve g@ed you, but he didn’t!” Bro… bro…. 💔 THATS THE WORSE SHIT TO EVER SAY. THE BAR IS SO LOW IF THAT WAS A GOOD THING. IT SHOULD BE NORMAL TO NOT DO THAT???

So those are the main three things I’d like to say. On a lighter note, if the main four were to be in the omegaverse:

Valt would be an omega (overprotective of his friends and heightened emotions. Not in the “Oh, I’m just so sensitive” way but that he jumps from emotion to emotion.)

Shu would be an alpha (his death glare from Red Eye - even if he were changed, I’d like to believe he always had that ability in him but never used it - and superiority given his role as owner of the Raging Bulls).

Free would also be an alpha (that glare and typically follows his own rules).

Lui would be a beta- HEAR ME OUT (considering how Betas are often like normal people and are of a minority- I think?? - him being that oddball that wants to be viewed as someone stronger would make sense. Plus he’s in that in-between where he can’t relate to anyone other than himself.)

This is not a planned post I wanted to yap about, but it’s up here now so… yeah.
