Oh that? Well, partially it's because I'm a vampire and I like to meme about it. The other reason is just "meh it fits my aesthetic so why not".

My mom (@lady-of-midnight-sun) actually picked the avatar picture on my blog. I'm a shapeshifter, in the way that I can turn into animals (hence my @), so she thought the cat with "fangs" was fitting.

So I just ran with the theme, and my personal "color scheme" and picked the red moon banner thing. Is it called a banner? Whatever. The point is, I like red and black.
