Listen. It's the concept of an all-powerful immortal vampire hell bent on keeping the head-strong klutz he fell hopelessly in love with alive.

the term âspirit animalâ is racism. the horror movies involving âcryptic forest creaturesâ that are really just bad re-makes of native legends are racist. the idea that you can smudge while being white is racist. leave out culture alone. throw your shitty plastic dream catchers in the garbage. youâre not having a pow wow you are holding a party and being racist.
its not âa jokeâ its fucking racist
please take native people seriously when we call out your bullshit

Dr. Sadarangani: Carlisle, my dude, my man, you haven't aged a day in the 14 years since I last saw you.
Carlisle "I've had literal centuries to learn how to lie about my secret vampire identity" Cullen: ah, yes, it must be the cool, humid air of the pacific northwest.

âȘ Right from the start I knew that Iâd found a home for my heart âȘ
I still have such strong memories of reading and then seeing Twilight in 2008, and Iâve been quietly a huge fan ever since. That first movie is still one I can rewatch anytime, and I hope Iâve managed to capture a little of that magic here.Â

I have read Twilight at least 4-6 times and I have never noticed before how all of New Moon when Bella feels guilty about being with Jacob but is so drawn to him she canât leave him, but tries to convince herself that she needs to convince him to leave, even though she knows she wonât be able to, and calls herself selfish and guilty so many times... IS A DIRECT PARALLEL TO HOW EDWARD FEELS ABOUT HER AND HAPPENS WHILE HE DOES âHAVE THE STRENGTHâ
Reading Midnight Sun has given me quite the perspective change and out of context if you switched the names I couldnât tell you if Edward or Bella wrote this.

Midnight Sun showed so much depth to Edward / Bella it truly feels more like a tragedy than Twilight ever did. Youâve got Edward who despises himself and is self deprecating in every other line and flat out talks about his own suicide and he falls in love with Bella who is just a girl who never got the care and attention she needed growing up and probably has some major abandonment / self esteem issues because of it and these two crazy kids are swept into their own romance except neither of them knows what a healthy relationship is like and they are so dependent so fast but so in love and they both think the best part of themselves is each other and they both feel unworthy of the other and itâs beautiful in a heart breaking way

Ok so I finished the whole twilight series last night and the main thing I have to say is: Forever?
So, the movie closes on Edwin and Belltower saying how they love each other this insane amount and how they're gonna love each other forever.
And it just makes me wonder, does Bella really understand the meaning of forever?
"Forever is an awfully long time." The children in Peter Pan understood that. They understood that it's quite drastic and will probably become insufferable to be in the same state for literally forever.
The ending just makes me wonder, has Bella really thought about forever? I know she may want to be with Edward for hundreds of years. To have, what seems to a human mind, like an infinite amount of time. But does she realize forever means until the sun burns out and takes the earth down with it? Or until all human and animal life is gone and they all starve to death? Or, more likely, when some disaster destroys the planet like climate change or an asteroid or nuclear war?
The fact is, this is a creature she met merely, what, two or so years before she committed to be with him forever. A creature who left her and hurt her so badly that she was left in a deep depressive and suicidal state for nearly a quarter of that time? A creature who tried to pressure her and coaxed the people around her to pressure her into killing her unborn child that she wanted to keep? The creature that some say she tried to pressure into having sex before he was comfortable? And yes even if they're soulmates, who's to say that their love is so strong it will truly last forever?
One day whatever force or being that made vampire kind, these things that can truly tolerate forever will call 'enough' and take back what they gave. Will she ever be prepared for that day of reckoning if she somehow becomes comfortable with the idea of forever.
Does she realize the potential repercussions of binding oneself to one state and to one person? Does she realize that nothing can truly last forever? That one day she'll become so disillusioned or unsatisfied with the life she lives, when she's done everything there is to be done and seen everything there is to be seen a hundred times over? That she'll eventually go mad or kill herself or something because immortality always takes its toll. (We've already seen in universe that this is a thing that happens - with the two Romanian? vamps who sat still for so long they didn't realize they started to petrify.)
The fact is, even though she believes she was born to be a vampire, no vampire was made to live forever. Their once human minds may have been strengthened but who's to say they've been strengthened enough to take on the incomprehensible, torturous reality of forever.
