The fact that Rafael almost got offended by the comparsion really made him realoze how right Lucy was. “Okay, maybe I do spend a little too much time with Josh,” he chuckled, admitting his defeat. “You do realize that this is actually kind of offensive, right? I can totally be a badass.”

[04.04.2017 14:30:15] reckless waifu: When Lucy arrived in the city, she looked for someone she knew. It was when she saw Rafael. The redheaded elf ran and wrapped her arms around him. "I'm so glad you're okay." She said not really noticing the person next to him just yet. [04.04.2017 18:05:46] viktor .: Rafael flinched hard when he suddenly felt arms around him, relaxing only when he heard her voice. It took another moment before he hugged her back. "Lucy, you need to get out of here. Let us handle this." [04.04.2017 18:10:52] Rooster: Leo just watched the redhead throw herself at Rafael with a blank expression. "Right, okay this is cute and all but really? Now's not the time for dramatic end credit reunions." He crossed his arms with a scowl. [04.04.2017 18:13:40] reckless waifu: Lucy stepped back from Rafa. Her green eyes flickering to Leo for a moment then back to her friend. "I can handle myself. I don't need to get out of here. Leo cut in. He readjusted the grip on his bow, eyeing the surroundings warily. "Try to hold the fort if you're feeling particularly generous. I have a feeling these guys are going to need some help." This isn't about gaming skill sunshine. That's not how this game works. It all feels real, and it's up to you and not mechanics to do it." But when Rafael looked at him he bristled. "Excuse me? If anything I should be telling you guys to hang back. I'm at least double her level and yours." He jabbed a thumb at the unknown redhead. "But I for damn sure am not going to let you guys tell me that I cannot fight if I want to. And I am not going to let Rafa risk his life if I can do it instead. The only way to get to be a higher level is to fight anyways." She rolled her eyes. "But I am going to go see if they need help, since bickering about all of this isn't going to give them the help that they need." [04.04.2017 19:24:01] viktor .: "Okay, Leo. First of all, wow. Secondly, wow. I'm a vampire. I think I can handle myself," Rafael replied, narrowing his eyes at Leo, even if he honestly did understand where he was coming from. Looking over to Lucy again, he furrowed his brows. "There's no way to convince you to stay here anyway, right?" [04.04.2017 19:46:31] Rooster: Leo just rolled his eyes. "Whatever, dracula. Don't come looking to me if you need a snack then." Impatient and sick of arguing with the stubborn stranger, he started to walk off. "I'm going to actually do something. Anybody who wants to join, feel free." With that he marched determinedly through the castle. [05.04.2017 00:11:56] reckless waifu: Lucy sighs and follows Sophia's brother. "Come on Rafael." Rafael seemed like he meant business, and quite frankly, if he was being honest, his shadow puppet skills were shit. “My place or your place?” Leo paused, going over the words in his mind again before grimacing. “You’re never going to let me live that down are you.”

Rafael couldn’t help but laugh at the unintended suggestiveness in Leo’s words. “Never,” he agreed with a wide smile. “Your place,” he decided, “That’s one of my rules. Never take people home for shadow puppet battles.”

[28.03.2017 04:35:56] Nadia (Jordan): "So we're supposed to go where again?" Toby questioned as he opened up his user interface to check that he had enough supplies for the trip. He still wasn't quite sure why he'd picked Rafa as a quest partner, they'd spoken a few times since the weird shirt incident, and he seemed like a capable enough partner for the journey. [29.03.2017 21:04:46] viktor .: "To the Shadow Waste," Rafael said in his best ghost story voice, silently hoping that the place wouldn't be quite as horrible as it sounded. "That's pretty much as far to the west as it gets, on the other side of the ocean." Not even Rafael could stay optimistic in this situation. Not with miles of water between them and their destination. Pinching the back of his nose, he huffed. "I guess we need to start looking for a ship?" [31.03.2017 05:00:12] Nadia (Jordan): "I suppose so." He murmured, before something clicked in his head. "Please, never make that 'spooky' voice again." Toby jested before closing out his user interface. "Come on, the sooner we get to the docks, the sooner we can get a good ship and head out." [31.03.2017 05:10:45] viktor .: "What? Too scary? Sorry. I get that a lot. I mean, it is a pretty spooky voice," Rafael said, frowning slightly with worry. He always underestimated his voice acting skills. "Sounds like a plan." With a firm nod, he started walking towards the port, no wasting any more time. [31.03.2017 05:12:21] Nadia (Jordan): "No, no it wasn't that. It was weird man." Toby said with a laugh as he fell into step beside him. "But you gotta wonder, how creepy this place is going to be. Like, if the ghosts are anything like they were on the last quest, we are defiantly in for a heap of trouble." [31.03.2017 05:16:56] viktor .: "Yeah right." The sympathy in Rafael's voice was genuine as he lightly slapped Toby's shoulder. "There's nothing wrong with being scared. It's a pretty good voice. I get that all the time." His attention peaked up as he mentioned the last quest. And ghosts. "I didn't really do the last quest?", he explained weakly. [31.03.2017 05:21:02] Nadia (Jordan): Looking back at Rafael he was about to make a comment, then he paused. "Wait, you didn't?" He questioned rubbing a hand across the back of his neck he sighed. "Well, you're in for a treat then aren't ya?" There was no real way to describe what it felt like to be around the creatures. But, Toby wasn't going to just let his partner not know what he was in for. "When we get on the ship, I'll let you know what you're in for." [31.03.2017 05:38:05] viktor .: "No?" He was actually scared now. Not because of the ghosts. Okay, maybe partially because of the ghosts. But mainly because now he felt utterly unprepared. "Why wait when you could just tell me now?", he asked, scratching the back of head nervously. [31.03.2017 05:48:08] Nadia (Jordan): "Because it's a long story, and the docks are right there." Toby said with a point. Just ahead of them, rising over the small hill was the ship yard. The pair didn't need something big or fancy, just something to get them there and back. [31.03.2017 07:15:04] viktor .: "Oh," Rafael said somewhat defeatedly. It was a shame how little time he had to actually explore his surroundings. So until he got a proper map, he would keep getting lost. "You know what? Let me handle that. I'll convince a captain to take us to the other side with my vampire charms." Punctuating his words with a dramatic hand gesture, he made his way over to one of the ship captains. [01.04.2017 05:45:32 | Bearbeitet 05:45:38] Nadia (Jordan): "I mean.." Toby didn't have much time to offer another suggestion before Rafael was on his way to talk with one of the captains. Folding his arms across his chest he simply waited. Perhaps this would work out better than his plan. [01.04.2017 06:28:36] viktor .: After a short chat with the captain, he turned around and waved at Toby, a wide smile resting on his face. "Told you I can handle that," he said victoriously as he got on board. [01.04.2017 06:48:24] Nadia (Jordan): "I didn't once doubt that you could." He pointed out as he followed behind him. Boarding the boat, Toby looked around for a moment. It wasn't a very grand ship but, it would be enough to get them from point A to point B. Taking a seat on the deck, Toby grunted as he stretched out. "So Rafael, tell me where were you that you didn't do the last quest?" [01.04.2017 07:06:43] viktor .: Rafael looked at him, blinking. "Really?" People having faith in was definitely new, but he might just get used to it. Sitting down next to Toby, he looked up, squinting into the sun, hoping it would set soon. "Oh I was actually about to do the quest. But then me and my quest partner got into a tiny fight and he's the kind of person that just doesn't let things go and loves to argue so he just kept going and going and things escalated and eventually he just lost his shit and left. So finishing the quest wasn't really an option without a partner." He shrugged as if it was nothing, turning to face Toby now. "Okay. Your turn. Ghosts. Tell me everything." [01.04.2017 07:36:29] Nadia (Jordan): "Well that sucks.." He said after a moment. He'd gotten into a situation that was sort of similar, though he was able to fix their issues alter on during a different quest. "The ghosts? Their creepy. You'll know they are around because you get this weird chill down your spine." He said after a moment. "They also don't have like footsteps or anything, they just seem to float above the ground. Made up of some sort shadows or something like that." [01.04.2017 07:52:14] viktor .: Rafael shrugged again. "It'll be fine. He'll calm down eventually, I'm sure." Giving another smile, he tried his best to keep the mood light. This was about finishing a quest and not moping about whatever little troubles he had in his social life. "Awesome," he breathed out after listening to Toby's story, eyes wide with absolute awe. "Man, I wish I had seen them!" [01.04.2017 07:58:30] Nadia (Jordan): "Well, I'm pretty sure we will see them again today." He said with a shrug. "I'm not really in the mood to see them again, but you seem pretty keen, so I'll let you walk in first." [01.04.2017 08:09:04] viktor .: "You think?" He was beaming now. This might have just been the most excited he had ever been. "No problem. I'll gladly walk in first." Rafael was getting restless now. Looking over his shoulder, he glimpsed at the shoreline in the distance. "What do you think, how much longer until we're there?" [01.04.2017 08:27:24] Nadia (Jordan): If Toby was being honest, he was enjoying how refreshing his attitude was to doing quest. Rather it was nice to see someone seemed to be 'enjoying' themselves, if you could call it that. "You're really excited about this aren't you?" He questioned with a bit of a laugh. [01.04.2017 10:24:05] viktor .: Rafael looked at Toby like he was an alien before shaking his head with a chuckle. "Hell yeah, I'm excited. I mean, ghosts? Actual ghosts? How is that not the coolest thing ever?" [01.04.2017 15:55:56] Nadia (Jordan): "Well, I mean they aren't actual ghosts, you do have to remember we are still in a virtual game. None of this is actually real." Toby honestly had to keep telling himself that, one of his many ways he stayed sane while in the game. [01.04.2017 21:31:39] viktor .: "I know." Rafael looked up to the sky again, smiling. Sometimes he almost forgot that this was nothing but a game. Virtual reality. Not real reality. He could almost feel himself get melancholic as he thought about it, shaking his head lightly in an effort to shake the feeling, too. "But then again, is anything ever real? I mean, there are physical theories about our whole universe being nothing but a hologram," Rafael said with a shrug when suddenly he felt the boat slowing down as it approached the shore. [01.04.2017 21:34:04] Nadia (Jordan): "And do you believe that theory?" Toby questioned. When the boat slowed to a halt, the man rose to his feet. Stretching a bit as he did, he turned back to look at Rafael. "I mean, I could believe in the theory that we are all just a dream of someone elses creation, but a hologram? Really?" [01.04.2017 21:44:17] viktor .: "Honestly, I don't even think I really understand it?", Rafael laughed. "String theory, black hole thermodynamics, quantum gravity. Not exactly my forte." There had been a time where Rafael almost considered to become a scientist and conversations like this almost made him regret not doing it. Getting up shortly after Toby, he shrugged again. "Even if we are. Who knows? I mean, the human brain isn't exactly made to think about things like that. We can't even properly fathom that the universe is infinite, so I don't think we are supposed to understand how the entire universe could be a two-dimensional hologram on the cosmological horizon even if it was true." [01.04.2017 21:47:25] Nadia (Jordan): As they walked off the boat together, Toby listened intently to what the other had to say. "You know, I may have not caught about two thirds of what you just said but, for the things I did catch I'm going to have to agree with you." Patting Rafael's shoulder, Toby opened his user interface to pull up the map. "Alright, so the Shadow Waste, by the looks of it we need to head in that direction." He murmured, pointing off to their left. [01.04.2017 22:13:49] viktor .: "To be honest? Me neither," Rafael laughed genuinely. Reading articles and remembering intelligent sounding vocabulary was one thing, understanding complicated physical theories was something entirely different. When Toby opened the map, he gave it a quick look before nodding, walking slowly into the direction. "Any idea what exactly we're looking for?" [01.04.2017 22:18:05] Nadia (Jordan): "Not quite, the mayor said something about it being just a vast waste land. So, I'm assuming it's going to be something along the lines of just a wide space, everything is dead, nothing really growing at all." Toby suggested. Part of him was interested in seeing what this place was going to look like but, the other part wasn't ready for the carnage they may be in for. [01.04.2017 22:39:30] viktor .: "Wow. Sounds thrilling," Rafael said sarcastically. Venturing into an empty desert looking for nothing in particular wasn't exactly something that was on his bucket list, but for now he wouldn't complain. He still had hope that there would be some action, some legendary adventure to make up for planlessly wandering through the desert for what felt like hours. "I don't get it. There has to be something here, right?" [06:06:48] Nadia (Jordan): As they kept walking, Toby noticed how desolate the land was starting to become. Everything seemed to be dead. Things were starting 'grey' out and nothing looked normal. "I mean, it can't just be empty land." He murmured. [07:16:35] viktor .: "I mean, it's called a waste for a reason. So technically it could." Of course had to fact check him. Even though Rafael was pretty sure that he didn't even mean it like that. "But I doubt they'd send us out here just to enjoy the view and look at the landscape." [07:45:30] Nadia (Jordan): "I highly doubt that." Toby repeated, his eyes scanning the horizon for anything worth seeing. Just a few yards away, Toby noticed a sort of dip in the land. "Hey, come this way." He said starting to lead the other across the landscape. [21:40:15] viktor .: Rafael just nodded and followed, unsure of where they were going exactly. He didn't even notice the dip until shortly before they reached it. He opened his mouth to say something, but when he looked down and noticed the army of creatures below them, he kept quiet. Just peered down with a mix of awe and terror in his eyes. [21:45:16] Nadia (Jordan): Toby's blood ran cold at the sight. There were far more than he expected. All of the creatures seemed to be just sitting there. Like they were sleeping, waiting for the moment that they would strike. "We are so fucked..." Toby whispered looking over to Rafael. [22:15:58] viktor .: Rafael nodded eagerly. There was no denying that Toby was right and even his fascination couldn't outweigh the fear at this point. "That's more than we can take."
