🩹~First aid ~🩹
Felix x shapeshifter!child reader
Keep this platonic pls :) Tw : Medical themes , scrapes and bruises.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Everything around you whipped by.
The sound of your paws going at press-paw speed could be heard if one was listening carefully.
Snorting and breathing heavily, you raced threw the woods.
You could hear the footsteps of one of the most powerful vampire in the world hot on your trail as you ran through the open fields of Italy.
Every muscle in your body screamed to slow down but you couldn't. You wouldn't! You were so close! You couldn't stop now!
You took a sharp right, nearly colliding with a tree in the process. Thankfully it only hit your front leg while dodging. It stung badly but it wasn't going to slow you down. Not when you were so close! So close you could taste victory!
'That didn't shake him off my tail?!'
Putting pressure on your leg unfortunately was your downfall. The second you pressed down on it, the leg gave out making you slam face first into the dirt.
While you were a shapeshifter, you didn't exactly heal from pain or painful encounters easily like others did. If anything, it took longer to heal. This was definitely going to leave marks.
Footsteps close by slowed down. This was it.
You were done for.
"Well well well. Thought you could outrun me? I don't thinks so pup. Guess what."
The giant loomed over you. With the blinding sun, all you could see of him was a sparkly silhouette. His hand reached down and booped your snout.
"Tag. Your it kid."
With a whine in defeat, you got off the ground shaking the grass and dirt off. 'Ok ouch let's not do that, I'm gonna be sore for awhile'
"You did last longer than you usually do. In fact I think you broke your record for how long you lasted! Progress has been made. Good job kid. Come on, you've earned a break from training for a few days."
Ah, while you didn't win this round of tag, you managed to evade him long enough to break your record!
Your tail wagged. This meant tomorrow there would be no training, not that it wasn't fun. Felix always made training fun. But having a nice day to relax was even better after working hard!
You managed to hide your limping as you and the gentle giant made it back to Volterra. You didn't want to alarm him. Besides it was nothing!
You were so happy to finally be home. With a sigh of relief, you followed Felix back into the building.
"Alright go get dressed and meet me in the hallway, we got to go over history for 30 minutes then your free to do as you please after that. I'll get you some water and food."
With a tail wag and nod, you bounded to your room. Once in your room, you shifted back into your regular ole self and finally got a good look at the damage.
Arm wise, was badly bruised. It was scratched from the fall too. You scrapped it when you fell pretty good. The side of your face was no better. But it wasn't to bad to you.
You shook it off though, you've been hurt from far worse! This was nothing right? Right. It will heal on its own like always.
'Tis but a scratch!' You though and put on one of Felixs oversized shirt he let you have. It was practically a night gown with how big it was. But it was something cozy since you would be in the library and really really sore. Thankfully Felix was also very lenient with where you sat. The couches were the best spot versus the incredibly uncomfortable chairs anyone else teaching you would make you sit in.
Out the door and down the hall you went once you finished dressing yourself.
Felix was waiting in the hallway. He was leaning against the door with a book and what looked like a sandwich, bag of chips and bottle of water on top.
"I'm ready." You said as you approached him.
"Alright let's goooo-oh my god what the hell happened to you?! Lessons being put on hold. Come on, infirmary. now!"
He quickly ushered you farther down the hall whether you wanted to go or not. You didn't think it was that bad. He was just over reacting!
"But I'm fine! Honest!" Once at the door, you resisted being pushed in. Anything but here!
"We can do this the easy way or the hard way kid." He said nudging you here and there to try and get you to move forward.
You weren't budging though. You stood your ground staring back up at him, challenging him. His knee was in your back, trying to encourage you inwards.
"Hard way it is." He grabbed the lower back of your shirt, pulled it back making you lose your balance. Before you could fall on the ground, he grabbed you in his free arm.
Your arms were smashed against yourself and his side, sending waves of agonizing pain through your sore one. He held you under his arm like a sack of potatoes.
'Dang it don't cry don't cry but oh god it hurts so bad!! What's the big deal it's only a few scratches!!!'
You hardly realised you were crying while he threw the book and food on the counter. With a quick flick, the lights illuminated the room.
It looked like any standard doctors office. It had a pediatric table that also had a blood-drawing chair attached to it. And of course regular boring adult exam tables in plain blues and grays. It was mostly used for the human inhabitants but since you arrived there, it's been converted into a much more child friendly room.
"Felix please I'm fine! Ow ow ow! Put me down you're hurting me!"
"Thought you were fine?" He said with a hint of playfulness. He sat you down in the blood-drawing chair leaving the arm rest up.
"I uh.... I am it's just you... were holding me to tight!" Blurting out, you wiped away a few of the tears. He had already seen them though.
'I don't think he's buying it.' He only raised an eyebrow. He turned around. You couldn't see what he was doing.
" Alright. Your fine. That's good. If your fine, let me run my fingers over your arm with a bit of pressure. If you don't yelp, cry, or so much as wince? I'll let you go on your merry way. If you do, then you let me fix you up. Deal?"
That didn't seem to hard. Hold still while he touches your arm? Easy, At least to you. It meant you didn't have to deal with the annoying pain of everything being cleaned and dressed.
" Fine. Deal. It cant be that hard right?" You said with confidence.
"Why would it be hard in the first place if your fine?" He countered. You kept your mouth shut after that as to not accidentally give yourself away. He turned around with examining gloves on his hands instead of his usual leather ones.
He smirked as you reached your little arm out to him. You focused on anything but him. You were going to get out of here in no time! You wouldn't have to deal with this and the annoying painful stinging that always followed.
The coldness of his hand holding the appendage still startled you. His fingers slowly applied pressure near the crook of your elbow before making its way down towards your hands. It took everything in you not to move. He kept a steady pace while watching your expressions.
You were doing good until he got to where you had clipped your arm harshly against the tree. The area was very tender and swollen.
With a loud yelp, you jerked your arm back towards yourself. A few tears managed to slip from the pain. You bit your lip, you knew was this meant.
"Felix please I'm fine honest! Let me sleep this off!" You pleaded. Felix gave you a sympathetic look. He didn't know why you were being so stubborn about this. Making it more difficult wouldn't help though.
"I would let you but because your banged up pretty bad, I can't let you without properly taking care of the wounds. You have dirt, splinters and vegetation embedded in your arm that needs cleaned and ointment put on them.
Not to mention your face is badly scratched up from you losing a fight with the ground." He gently turned your face upwards as to get a better look.
You jerked your head out of his hand, giving him the meanest glare you could muster.
He was unfazed by it though. Instead he scooped you up, placing you down on the counter next to the sink.
"Let's get you cleaned up. I got to get rid of the loose dirt before I can properly treat everything." The water was turned on. Occasionally he would stick his hand under it to make sure it was warming up to the right temperature.
Once he was satisfied with the temperature, he pulled your arm above the sink. Using his free hand, he grabbed the detachable spray part, spraying down your arm. Thankfully it was a gentle stream because even that stung. You winced as the water washed away bits and pieces of dirt. The sink below was painted with a mix of brown, red and the occasional green bits.
Once done, he sat you back in the chair before turning around again. He was going through the cabinets looking for what he needed to properly treat the wounds and bruises.
You took this chance to see how far from the door you were. Maybe you could escape and get out of here? Not likley but worth a shot right? Slowly you scooted yourself off the chair. Thankfully the oversized shirt made it much easier and quieter to scoot.
Maybe there was a chance to escape after all? He wasn't paying much attention to you, or so you thought.
"You get off that chair, I'm strapping you in it." He didn't sound angry but you could tell he really meant it.
You wracked your brain for an excuse. There must be something you could do to get out of this!
'That's it!' After each training session, Felix would make you stretch and hold certain poses. Maybe that would work in your advantage?
"But I didn't do the stretches yet. Can I do those still?" You gave him your most innocent face you could make.
He looked back at you. He was 99.9999 percent sure this was a trick with the biggest puppy dog eyes he'd ever seen you give him. He just wanted to see what you'd try at this point.
"Alright fine you can do your normal stretch. Just be easy with your arm." He said turning back to the cabinet searching for non-stick gauze and some tape.
'Bingo! Freedom is mine!' You smiled to yourself. Scooting all the way off the chair, you stretched yourself out. Doing the poses you normally did, you slowly inched your way to the door. So close yet it felt so far away.
Once you were closer to the door, you bolted towards it with such speed, it even surprised yourself you could move this fast in this form!
Sadly, not fast enough.
As you grabbed the doorknob, Felix's hands gripped your sides pulling you backwards. 'No no no I was so close.'
"I admire your determination but even if you managed to get out, I would still hunt your ass down within seconds. It was a nice attempt though. Come on. Back in the seat." He lifted you by your underarms and placed you back into the chair.
He pulled out primary colored straps from the sides and buckled you in. He gave the belt strap a few tugs to make sure you were in tight.
You whined. Felix sighed. This wasn't like you to misbehave like this. Something didn't seem right.
" Alright out with it. What's wrong? Your being more stubborn than usual. Why are you making this much more difficult than it needs to be?"
He asked while pulling down the chair arm. He guided your arm onto it.
You looked down.
"Because everyone else is really rough with me! It hurts when they do anything and even when I say it does they don't let up! It always hurts badly even after."
Felix made a mental note to tell Aro about this since you were their only shapeshifter. You trusting them was absolutely vital. He couldn't have others being rough with you when it came to medical attention for this exact reason. You didn't trust him to treat your wounds without hurting you more which could be disastrous down the road.
"Is this why you got a really bad infection a few months ago? You didn't want anyone touching your leg when you scrapped it on the pavement, is that correct?" He asked while gently turning your arm around to look at it again.
He remembered you refused anyone touching it the first few days untill it got much worse and wasnt healing properly. You fought with him even then to not touch your leg at all.
He grabbed a few wipes from the counter, brushing it over your arm as gently as he could.
"Yeah. Because it hurt when the other guards did anything. And they tell me it won't but it always does." You muttered.
"Well. Remember when I took care of your leg? I was very gentle even though you squirmed. I'll still be as gentle as I can. If you tell me to stop, I'll stop right then and there. I won't cause you more discomfort than necessary. Will you trust me?" He asked while throwing away the wipe.
You thought for a moment. Compared to others, Felix was always kind to you. He was never to rough with you no matter what he did. He never lied to you either. He was always gentle when he handled you before too.
He was the one who also fixed you back up after that really bad infection. He was gentle as could be that time.
"Yeah." You gave in. He smiled while pulling a tray with tweezers, topical ointment, gauzes and tape towards you.
He got right to work. The movements were to fast for you to see what he was doing. You hardly felt anything up until he started smearing the ointment over your scrapes.
"OW that hurts!" You jerked your hand back. Felix motioned with his fingers to give your arm back to him.
Reluctantly you did.
"This will sting so bare with me ok? Tell me if I need to stop and I will." You shook your head up and down.
With that, Felix began smearing your arm in the ointment. A few times he'd brush over a particularly sensitive area, you let out a hiss a few times. He slowed down on those particular spots and lighten the pressure.
"You doing ok? Do you need a break for a minute?" He asked letting your arm go.
"Yeah just for a minute."
" Ok then I'll give you a minute. Do you want your water?"
"Yes."
You blinked, only for the bottle to be right in front of you.
"Thanks." You said taking a sip of water. He nodded.
He took off his gloves and grabbed a clipboard and started writing down today's events that landed you here.
" What that?" You asked curiously.
"This? This is just a record of you. More importantly your medical history.
It's got everything recorded from every time you've visited the infirmary and as to why you ended up here.
Right now I'm writing down what happened, what I've used, and the severity of your ailments for research purposes."
You tilted your head. 'Why would they be researching me?'
"Research?"
"Yes. Research. We keep up with how long it takes you to heal from what and usage of medicines that help the healing process.
Because of this little chart, we found out you heal slowly like a human rather than a shape shifter like the ones from La-push. They heal pretty quickly compared to you."
"Oh. That's cool." You said while scratching at your face to satisfy an itch.
"No no no! Don't scratch, don't scratch!"
He smacked your hand away from your face. Not hard or anything, just to keep you from going back after that itch.
'Oh come on, it itches!!' You pouted. He sighed.
"Can't have you scratching. It'll make it worse."
He was right. As much as you wanted to go after the itching, you didn't want to make it worse.
"Well the minutes over anyway. Give me your arm. I'm nearly done. Once the rest is on, I'll bandage it up and give you an ice pack for it." He explained while getting on a new pair of gloves.
You gave him your arm. He proceeded to smear ointment while doing the best he could to be gentle. You managed to tolerate it more this time.
"Hey Felix?"
"Hmm?"
"If vampires can't get sick, why do you wear gloves?" You asked while he finally finished.
"Shapeshifters and topical ointment do not make good perfume. While you have oils that your skin produces that sometimes neutralizes the smells of certain things after awhile, vampires don't.
The smell lingers longer for us because we don't have anything to neutralize scents unless it mixes with something like dirt or taking a shower."
"Oh that makes sense... I think?" You tried to wrap your head around it but just couldn't get it. You decided not to pry farther.
"There, just got to bandage it then I'll strap an ice pack down on it so you don't have to hold it." You weren't really paying attention to him at this point. You stared off into space while he worked.
It didn't take long at all for him to wrap your arm up with an ice pack too. You came back to when his hand brushed up against your cheek unexpectedly.
If you weren't strapped down to the chair, you probably would've pulled yourself out from jumping at the sudden touch.
"Woah woah take it easy. Just trying to angle you so I can grab the debri out easier. That's all." He said while lifting your face upwards again.
You could see the tweezers moving around. It took everything in you not to jerk when you felt a slight pinch or a stinging sensation here and there. It wasn't to bad.
"Done. Now this won't take long so hold still."
The coldness of his hand actually felt nice on your cheek combined with the ointment. You didn't move, letting him work without difficulty.
"You're being a lot calmer than I thought you'd be considering you were jumpy just a second ago."
"Your hand feels like an ice pack to me." You mumbled kind of staring off.
"Is that so? Well glad it kept you still because we are now done. I think your face will be fine without bandages. They're not as deep as they looked before. A little swollen if anything but it should go down soon. Do you want an ice pack? It might help."
He undid the straps, pulled the armchair up and let you down.
"No I think I'm good on ice packs."
"Suit yourself. Come on. We still got history to go over plus you have to eat before your done for the morning. No rough housing with the twins till your healed up though. I'll change the bandages later on before bed time.
Don't let anyone else besides me do it. If they can't be easy with you then I do not want them taking care of you."
You nodded while he grabbed the book and your food. You didn't want anyone else to touch the bandages anyway.
He would have to talk to Aro about taking over your care permanently if others couldn't handle you properly. He was not having any of that nonsense what so ever.
