hi!! you can ignore this ask if you dont want to answer, but i was looking up about natalie portman and a term i came across was 'liberal zionism'. apparently someone who recognises israel as a democratic state but condemns netanyahu and his policies; and want a two-state solution. what are your thoughts on this? to me recognising israel as a "state" would mean diminishing all the horrifying struggles Palestinians had to go through and are still going through and, ofc, the nakba. how can they continue supporting her just because she offered lukewarm support to those going through a literal genocide?

to me, liberal zionists and zionists are the same type of scum. the former condemns israel's actions but refuses to do anything about it (all bark and no bite) while zionists support all actions taken by the zionist entity. but what use is the condemnation if it doesn't bring any change or helps the palestinians who are still suffering?

for example, aoc and bernie sanders, two very popular leftist politicians in the us are liberal zionists. they condemn israel's actions but remain staunch in their belief that israel has a right to defend itself. they may sound like they are pro palestine but they will never be able to help in palestinian liberation unless they stop supporting israel and start backing the resistance.

recognising israel as a state or offering a two state solution is supporting the right of existence of a state that has been relentlessly committing genocide and practising apartheid. just reading about the nakba should make one realise that israel has no right to exist.

i feel like many zionist celebrities pretend to be liberal zionists in order to not be cancelled and make sure that the pro palestine crowd and the pro genocide crowd keep supporting them.
