I am an art installer currently out of work. So when my mom asked me to build her a Brooder Box for our newly hatched chicks, I got a little carried away.
But have to say this was one of the most fun projects I've worked on while “cooped up” during quarantine.
What have I been doing during the quarantine?
Well as an out of work Art Installer, I decided to help my parents build a chicken brooder, and was inspired to install a tiny art gallery for chickens.
This has been one of the silliest things I have ever done, but it was so much fun!
Live stream of “Chicken Feed” from “Galerie Nouveau Chic” is up on my twitch account now. Enjoy!
I had the ultimate pleasure of being the lighting designer for Dilly Dally's new music video shot LIVE in our studio at the Coffin Factory, downtown Toronto.
Katie Monks moved into our studios for a few months before going on tour, and became inspired by our space , the building and it's community.
Knowing that we were all slated for eviction April 1st 2019, Katie approached us with the idea of shooting a music video in our studio, to document our unique DIY space and honour the building's history and community.
As I make the transition to move out of the city and into the country, I got my first gig out in PEC.
Kat Burns and I have known each other since our OCAD days and I've been wanting to collaborate with her for a while. Working with Kashka was great and it was such a fun and friendly experience. I got to meet locals and also show some kids my projection set up which they seemed really interested in.
It was a very warm reception at the Athol town hall in Cherry Valley Ontario. The first of many, I hope!
Had another magikal experience doing visuals for Venus Fest this past weekend.
Here is a small captured moment from the first night at the Mod Club, where I created custom visuals for LOOM’s performance.
I recorded this live video of my work from the sound tech booth for documentation, but the timing and sound quality of this video was so good and the song inspired me so I made this video combining both the live set, my visuals and shots of the decor.
Documentation from of A NIGHT WITH PLEASENCE at the Music Gallery.
I live mixed projections on two large walls behind the performers, customizing the video to each performance. Along side my projections were fellow artist Randy Gagne’s floating heads. Overall, I had a great night! It was a wonderful experience working with musicians whose music I love, and being able to work in such a beautiful venue was a honour!
Thanks to David Dacks at the Music Gallery.

Been working with the Analog Preservation Network developing what we call the Jumb0tron, a large translucent cube that rotates from the ceiling with displaying live feed footage and video art created by different members of APN. Katie Switzer and I developed the design and built the structure originally for the Long Winter music series at the Great Hall last March. We installed it recently at the Brink's building for a group show entitled "Exhibit A: Life" curated by friend and fellow OCAD grad Jessica V K Carr. It was great to see the Jumb0tron in two different environments, both in a concert setting and in a gallery context. I'm interested in developing this project further on both spectrums.
A couple of months back, I had the pleasure of working with some amazing women making this music video for my talented room mate Caylie Staples. I had a lot of fun doing the lighting and visual effects for this beautiful song about whales called “Deep memory”. This song gets stuck in my head everytime I listen to it.
Enjoy.
Here's images from last night's ACID BATH equinox party at The White House Studios, Toronto. brandon-dalmer and I created a projection mapping sigil that we live mixed all night. I also created a shrine alter using repurposed pallet skids and lit a candle for a "thawing ritual". Cassandra Whitman read tarot cards and there was a live performance by Hexuul. DJ SINS (Deth records) played awesome acid house into the night. Fun times with art and magik. HAPPY EQUINOX!
