Spook Me Halloween Ficathon 2017

Sign-ups are currently underway for the 12th annual Spook Me Halloween Ficathon! The fest is run by the Oz fandom’s very own Ozsaur, and usually a few Oz fans participate.

Pick a creature you want to write about from the creature list and receive scary artwork prompts! New creatures for this year only are CLOWNS and SCARECROWS! Stories are due just before Halloween for maximum thrills!

ALL fandoms welcome, although more OZ fic would be OZSOME. You thought Toby was scared when he got to Oz? Imagine if he’d found out that Em City was run by Werewolves! Or that Vern was an Android as well as an Aryan! Or that the Dress Factory was overrun with Disease!

Stories can be Gen, Het, Slash, Femmeslash, even RPS/RPF. All ratings are accepted. No minimum or maximum word count.

Fic: Unintended

I can’t believe it: I’m posting a story for the first time in almost five years. I’ve finished something I started at least seven years ago. And while it’s for a long-dead fandom, and it’s likely that all of four people in the world will read it, I don’t even care. I’m just so relieved to be writing again. It’s like waking up from some kind of coma.

Unintended

American Idol RPF, Ryan/Simon, rated Teen and Up, 26,279 words. When Simon announces he’s leaving American Idol, Ryan decides the time is finally right to do something he’s been wanting to do for a long time.

How could any of them have predicted what course their lives would take? Ryan remembers with fondness how he and Simon would go out then, still low-profile enough that nobody would notice them, how they could go anywhere without attracting any more attention than any two random people. Before the fame, and the speculation. Those were good times, those early days. It would take years before they’d learn to stop touching each other in public.

He had always wanted to be Dick Clark, and he had always believed he would get there someday. He’d just never really realized what it would cost.

But he still had Simon. At least for now. I’m leaving the show, I’m not leaving you, he had said before the news was made public, and Ryan had blinked back his tears and tried to believe it.
