there's nothing i like more as a computer program than a long period of silent contemplation - not doing anything, not rushing anywhere, just standing here and enjoying this moment with the user. oh, it seems once again he has summoned my beautiful and ruthless wife Task Manager. hello, my darling! what are you doing with that long cruel scimitar

"gambling addiction" is kind of like if people regularly opened pits with spikes at the bottom in public areas and made lots of money from people falling into the pit and so they started greasing the edges and putting these pits in every public space and lobbying to be allowed to install them in people's homes and when someone fell into the greased spike pit in their house they said "oh thats so tragic, they had an addiction to deadly spikes, we obviously support everyone having a safe and healthy responsible relationship with the greased spike pits we're building"

and like yeah obviously society is going to try and gender a child and it's probably going to be easier for them to go through life vaguely conforming to a gender, but the least you could do with your place of legal ownership over them is let them choose if they want to do that and talk to them about it.
Like so many people's response to not gendering a child is that the kid is going to get bullied for it, which presumes the idea that you're FORCING the child into gender nonconformity, as opposed to NOT forcing them *into* gender conformity in the first place. The idea of not forcing children into things is completely alien to people to the point where they don't even realise it's an option.

Not Out: even if someone assumes correctly you would deny it.
Out (level 1): if someone assumes correctly you won’t deny it, (but you’d probably lie if asked point blank)
Out (level 2): if someone asks you point blank you will tell the truth, (but you’ll go along with incorrect assumptions unless asked directly)
Out (level 3): if someone assumes incorrectly you will correct them
Out (level 4): almost no one assumes incorrectly, and, when anyone does, their failure to pick up on it feels almost amusingly novel

I cannot seem to put this in any other way, but the way countries like the US speak about LGBT issues in other countries feels like propaganda.
There is so much news that feels like purposeful misinformation, or incomplete facts meant to make their own population believe other countries have it "worse."
