The tear on her chin just slays me…
I hate just making a request - I want to pay you for all your time and effort! But now that the Nightmare era is well and truly over, if the inspiration strikes, would love to see something depicting SuA (or each of them if you're feeling ambitious but SuA is my bias) freshly woken, at dawn, knowing that she is finally free of the ordeal. A real coda to the long Nightmare story…
hey, i’m always up for interesting ideas and i think this is a good one, thank you
i don’t know about other members, maybe later

I didn’t think CLC could top “Black Dress”. Seems I might have been wrong.

I strongly concur with this. I’ve long believed that the best - and correct - thing Disney could do to address the topic of Elsa’s sexuality is...nothing, Leave it alone. Deepen the characters, expand the universe, and tell a good story, without undermining or closing off any options and interpretations that fans have. Keep Elsa accessible to anyone who needs her. If Disney made Elsa definitively queer, a certain portion of fans would be happy, but a separate and perhaps larger part would be unhappy. If Disney made definitively Elsa straight, it would be so typical that most viewers wouldn’t even notice, but a certain (relatively small but vocal) portion of fans would be unhappy.
Disney is not in the business of making people unhappy.
The topic of Elsa’s Sexuality
I’m gonna make this post bc I want to clear up a lot of people’s expectations before they go into frozen 2 given I have seen a huge revival on this topic.
For a while now there has been a huge wave of support from fans of the film to encourage the film makers to let Elsa have a girlfriend. I include myself in that group because her character arc from the first film is very easy to interpret as such and believe me we all noticed it. And this isnt some fans made idea either it’s something that’s even been toyed with by the directors amongst other people saying they are “all for it” or it’s something they are keeping in mind. And I want to let you all know that NOTHING would make me happier if it came to be. But knowing how this company operates, markets, and distributes it’s movies. I can almost without any hesitation confirm that in no way will they show Elsa as anything that could be seen as explicitly queer in Frozen 2.
“But why!?” You may ask, and it’s simple. The world is an awful ugly place and this alone would be a controversial move here in the states and we have better rights for LGBT+ people than most of the world. Now imagine Disney doing this and still trying to sell their highest grossing animated property since Toy story to other markets outside of North America. Especially in markets where Disney has a stake in the success of this film given their have resorts there (China especially) that are working on frozen properties and expansions.
Why run the risk of shooting those projects in the foot of this decision is met with any backlash? In short they would run the risk of losing out on money, and as we know that’s something they won’t let occur. It’s sad, it’s ugly, but it is what it is. I really want people to understand this before they hype themselves up to see the sequel. The best we are probably gonna get is Elsa not having a love interest and for now that is still awesome and a positive foot forward.
But yeah please temper your expectations folks. And please don’t harass the film makers for this as that is most likely way out of their control as well.

If you all need a break from rewatching the Frozen II teaser, I’m here to provide a palette cleanser. This song and video have been kicking my ass for days - the INCREDIBLY catchy music slaps you in the face from the first bar and doesn't let up, and the visuals... wow. The color palette, the eyeball art on the walls, the vaguely menacing scissors, the 60s-esque thriller/mob chic look...and of course the talents of the CLC members (Seunghee, Yujin, Seungyeon, Sorn, Yeeun, Elkie, & Eunbin). These girls need some support, so give them a listen…
Thanks for indulging my occasional swings into the K-Pop gravitational well…!

Feels
The Frozen II teaser did exactly what I wanted it to do: remind me of the feels of the original - just enough to get me reinvested. Even more importantly, it DIDN’T do anything that would have immediately made me go “WTF NO!”
I’m not in the same emotional place as I was in 2013 but I trust Jennifer Lee.

Of course...
So I was planning to reactivate this blog to showcase the (non-Frozen) story I am working on these days - but since it is largely “adult content” Tumblr now seems to not be the place for it any longer.
Assuming Tumblr doesn’t implode completely due to this stupid decision (something I wouldn’t be surprised by) I will still post a link to where the story ends up being published, but your best bet would be to follow the story’s Twitter: This World or The Next
My personal Twitter is here, but it is mainly politics, bikes and San Francisco living!
Hope to see some of you over there!

Hard to believe it’s been two years since I posted this. Had I known it would be my high-water mark in the fandom I might not have. But it always seems to be enjoyed whenever someone new discovers it.
