So went to my psychiatrist today and opened up about feeling like I have bpd (known this for years this isnt something i came up with out of the blue after a very troubling childhood and many strained codependent relationships in my life) along with other things and this time took my grandma for some emotional support and heres a couple of the things that happened with the psychiatrist: - made me weigh myself when she already knows its a trigger for me (my grandma even told her it was gonna make me depressed) - when I said ive been struggling with drinking and that ive been taking my trazodone with alcohol in my system pretty much straight up told me to stop drinking altogether as if that'ss something I can just turn off as if its not literally an addiction 🙃 then proceeds to bill me a 1,700+ prescription as if I didnt need any more stress already and all my problems can all be solved by shoving pills down my throat (I think she said something like this pill will lessen symptoms of bpd? Or chemically change my brain? Can't even remember it's already blocked out love that for me) like I dont desperately need psychological help so I can get to the root of why I'm like this so I can stop torturing myself day after day and get better. Overall she was extremely apathetic towards me and my situation and my grandma even told me after we stepped out the door that she didnt show much empathy and it made me grateful to feel like I wasn't going insane. After all the place literally has a 1.6 review on google from like 30+ people but there's hardly anywhere else to go. Bottom line is if you're in mental health please for the love of god try to be more understanding and patient with people who are suffering cuz you literally have somebody's LIFE in your hands and appearing indifferent or neutral to them pretty such shows you're only here to get them out the door to see the next person and earn a paycheck rather than try to humanize with them. On top of that ive also been denied medication at the last psychiatric hospital I went to, been ignored by staff after I started crying my eyes out after a cafeteria lady said I was making her job "more difficult than it needed to be" [when I politely asked her for cheese on my grits- ran crying to my seat & another patient had to tell somebody to get them to help me], at some point when having a breakdown I was held down and injected with something to make me sleep that left me dizzy for the past 2 days & when I was picking at my scars one nurse straight up said to let me keep doing it and that she didnt care and denied it the next day 😃 too lazy to finish this but if you're gonna work with mentally ill people PLEASE actually put in some effort to see them and hear what they're going through. Please just HELP us.
